do these really sell for that much? have got the hero dvd signed by him, wonder what thats worth

Apparently so. I'm only going by what they've sold before on eBay. They're out of print and collector's items now, much like a lot of the PWG DVDs. Not a lot of these DVD sets being sold on eBay these days, especially in the UK. They are quite limited.

  2. Watched the show for the first time when it was added to Disney+. I found it really enjoyable though I did exit after the first film as the first few episodes of the following season felt...off. Turns out I was right to dip out then according to various sites that have ranked the seasons from worst to best.

The tales of the two actors actually disliking each other at times during filming adds another layer of intrigue to the show, and I'm glad that they've let bygones be bygones now.

What I also love about the retrospective watchalong is that the overarching conspiracy plots wouldn't hit home properly if it were made today considering any talk of government conspiracy gets you co-opted with the alt-right crowd. Seeing them written and set-up with that 90's mindset harks back to a better time. Right-wing nutters and social media wankers have ruined what used to be a fun little rabbit hole of bonkers theories and tall tales, and that used to make for great telly and film. I used to buy big books about conspiracy theories up until the early 2010's, and none of them ever included mass murder denial and 'crisis actors'.

A Sting title win is a mad shout. All for giving him a big moment but it would devalue MJF and the belt to have a sexagenarian take it from him even briefly.

The Wold Champ is currently slumming it in a mid-card comedy act. Sting winning it would be a massive improvement.

I'd have been all for something like a Sting title win if he is/was healthy and then dropping it back to MJF at All Out. That would give the big moment and somewhat reset things back to the status quo fairly quickly.

I've also advocated for a week long title reign for Sting, starting at All In and ending at All Out. I think it'll make for a dramatic title match full of bells and whistles, and an incredible moment where Sting bags the three-count and the big gold belt, and 70k+ lose their fucking minds.

Let's not turn it into WCW already please.

This AEW run has been Sting's best work since the 90's, and what better way to celebrate it than to pay homage to WCW's 1993 UK tour, where Sting beat Vader for the World Heavyweight title in Wembley Arena and then dropped it six days later back to Vader in Dublin. WWE jumped the WCW shark years ago, so AEW playing rhyming couplets with a golden period for WCW will do AEW, and Sting and MJF and it's fanbase, no harm at all.

  5. Judging by the advertisements, I'd say Punk and Omega are almost a dead cert to be there (barring injuries and muffin-fuelled backstage brawls). One advert for All In was very Collision-heavy, whereas the other was very Dynamite/Elite heavy, so all the major stars should be present.

Reading between the lines, I think Kenny is saying, "All In will be the star-studded supershow, whereas All Out will be a more traditional, weekly-TV build PPV with a range of faces from across the card".

Or at least, that's how I'd book the two shows. You have your dream match show (All In) that doesn't take up much TV time apart from video packages reminiscent of the first few AEW PPVs, and the following week is your regular PPV that is full of more-traditional Western-style feuds built up on TV.

  6. Jungle Boy's heel stick reminds of that TV trope of the nerdy kid pretending to be hard and cool to impress a girl, only for it predictably fail when she has enough and fucks off. It's just incredibly see-through and inauthentic, and so I can't buy into the Hook feud at all now.

  7. I watched a New Legacy highlights video from the day-one footage, and it looks like a fun game but with an awful lot of bugs. All the weapons stuff looks really good too, and I'm eager to dive into that side of things, but I'll be waiting for a mod that stops the various debris and weaponry becoming translucent when a wrestler is nearby.

So a drop in price, a massive patch that fixes bugs and streamlines the experience, and a mod that'll effectively turn this game into the CZW edition...I don't ask for much!

  8. The Steamdeck went on sale over the weekend, sold out in 15 hours, and the stock levels haven't been updated since. It's annoying because I had one in my basket when the sale went live and then thought better about in-putting my credit card details into a work PC. My plan was to buy one on my phone after my shift finished, but of course by then all the 512gb models were gone. Just bloody typical. The dream of playing Fallout 3 on the bog was so close...

  9. Yeah I've found the dismissing of the inadequate CAW modes to be odd, as I remember the No Mercy CAW suite being surprisingly good. Like a lot of modern games, fans who have bought into the hype/brand are looking past any legitimate critique as they know it's Day One and will be fixed over time. But for me that isn't good enough, especially at a high price point. It's not like they slapped the 'early access' sign on the game to get round the issues either. It's sloppy but unfortunately that's the modern gaming landscape; release now, fix later.

  10. Let the record show that I've always preferred SD2/SD4/HCTP to any AKI engine game, and I'd be more than happy if Yukes and THQ Nordic just reskinned any of those three games and presented it as AEW Fight Forever.

  11. A bit off-topic; whatever happened to that No Mercy mod where they were actually working on a legit patch for the rom file instead of the usual No Mercy mods that involved installing other bits and bobs on your device? I think I'd rather play something like that right now until the AEW game shows more promise and/or gets slashed to fuck during a sale.

  12. I'm going to roll my eyes as if they were dice if the Dark Order end up saving Hangman Page from some beatdown, either in the lead-up to Blood'n'Guts or the actual match itself. Or hell, anytime in the next five years. They walked out on Page whilst he was being attacked with a fucking screwdriver, you don't just quickly become friends again after abandoning someone like that.

Just disband Dark Order and send Uno into a backstage role or ROH, or whatever keeps him off my TV screen. The Beaver Boys can stay though.

  13. The Steam Summer Sale starts at 6pm today, so keep an eye on your inboxes as you'll be alerted if any of your wishlist'ed games get a reduction.

I'll be getting a Steamdeck by the end of July, so I'm hoping to snag Elden Ring or Ys IX at a decent price, but that's wishful thinking. My wish list is predominantly 2D platformers and rogue-likes, so at the very least I'd like to grab all the Dead Cells DLC for a cheap price.

  14. I would like an A0 sized panorama photograph of Sting in mid-air, gliding with all the majesty of a Buzz Lightyear, suspended in animation in-between the ladder and Sammy G laid out on two tables. Because that moment, right fucking there, is why I love pro wrestling. What an incredible visual. What an incredible man.

Not getting very good reviews. I will wait on some of you guys thoughts but disappointing.

It sounds like it plays solid and is fun but the AI can be buggy in single player and everything else is bare bones average to bad. Jim Ross being as awful as you would expect.

I kinda expected this as more and more details came out, and more and more videos and streams became available. I'm no game developer, but maybe if they'd spent less time working on mini-games and used that additional man power to enhance the core gaming experience, maybe it would've fared better. Definitely one that I'll be holding off on until the price is slashed and the game is beefed up via patches and the like.

If you mean "transcended pro wrestling" as in "buried all the quality work they did beforehand with an absolutely disgusting head drop made famous by a wrestler who died as a direct result of head drops", then yeah, sure.

Omega and Osprey ALWAYS ALMOST have me. Great spectacles, just enough character work to excuse the occasionally ridiculous stunt spot, all building wonderfully,... And then they'll do something so utterly stupid I'm taken right out of the match and it's made painfully clear these are two human beings hurting each other for entertainment. Give me am dram over vertebrae being concertina'ed any day. Completely unnecessary. I'm sure it'll be argued by fans that it was all part of the escalation and Osprey going to extreme lengths to put Kenny away, but he didn't even do that - he still went back to his regular finishes. Fuck off.

Never understood this line of thinking. Ospreay and Omega are adults working in a dangerous media that has saw moves as simple as a baseball slide cause massive injury. Getting annoyed at them for making the decision to make a pro wrestling audience wince with a decades-long tribute in the closing moments of a long, gruelling, layered match is their choice and I guarantee that the spot was performed in the safest possible way.

Also, I could not give a fuck if they injure themselves as, again, they are adults. Adults that I do not know as I'm not their mate or family, I'm just a mere fan, and I'm especially a big fan when they're upping the ante on what can be done in a wrestling ring.

So let them do insane highspots and head drops all day long. The crowd in attendance ate it up and so did I. It wasn't "unnecessary" as the crowd popped big and everyone is talking about it. The safety police are up there with the most annoying members of the wrestling fanbase, up there with front-row fans who will not sit down and those who still chant "WHAT?" in 2023.

  17. Never thought I'd be one of those typical "Speaking as a parent..." knob ends, but speaking as a dad, I was very close to welling-up when Taz was working through his emotions during the Jungle Boy turn. I'll be rooting for Hook all the way through this, and I hope Taz will be on the call for every single one of the Hook vs Jungle Boy matches.

Omega vs Ospreay, once again, transcended pro wrestling. I remember the dope on the hardcam during Collision with their "Please don't hurt yourselves!" sign, and I hope they cried with their head in their hands watching Omega get spiked on a Tiger Driver '91. Along with their first match in January, they proved that pro wrestling at it's highest peak was back. I remember an argument on here once where someone was saying "Oh MOVEZ don't matter, STORY is more important" and in response to that tired argument someone said, "Yeah, but imagine how you'd feel if you saw a match that had BOTH?". I like to think that Omega and Ospreay are living proof of that counter-argument. You can keep your amateur dramatics at the local community theatre, I'll happily take this any day of the week.

On a show loaded with super fun matches and plenty of storyline progression, I think the only disappointment on the show was Okada vs Danielson, which peaked high with the entrances and got dragged down due to a knackered
crowd and Danielson breaking his arm mid-way through. Still, even at their worst, Danielson vs Okada was still better than a lot wrestler's best and the result was shocking enough to dilute the match not meeting everyone's incredibly high expectations.

If Revolution wasn't so good, and I'd call this a shoe-in for Show Of The Year. AEW has again reminded us that it's good to be a pro wrestling fan, sometimes.

  18. Fucking hell, the replies to that tweet are horrendous. As alluded to in the previous page, it was me who went to Slam Dunk Leeds last year and got their phone nicked near the end of the day amidst a sea of empty phone cases and wallets (exactly how I lost my phone at Slam Dunk Leeds 2015), which pretty much nailed the coffin lid shut for me.

I feel sorry for everyone who gave Slam Dunk another go this year, but I doubt the organisers learn anything from this considering they haven't learnt from anything else. They'll just power on through and people will forgive them when they start announcing bands again for next year.

It's not like there's a similarly sized festival here that deals almost exclusively with that Slam Dunk genre blend to offer any sort of competition either, so Slam Dunk don't have to do fucking anything really as it's not like the customers are gonna say "Fuck this, I'm off to Warped Tour, Taste Of Chaos, or Deconstruction next year". There's a sort of grey area with 2000 Trees, but not a lot. Slam Dunk has the monopoly on this, and they won't budge on anything until the public votes with their wallets.
