  1. The ending to the Reigns/Rollins vs. Mahal/Elias match made no sense. I FFWed through most of the show, so I might have missed a comment on commentary that it was a No DQ match or something, but otherwise how was Elias not DQed for DDTing Rollins on a chair in front of the ref? I am guessing the ref was meant to be distracted, but it looked bad no matter what.

The rest of the show was really bad, full of lazy writing and with no one (other than maybe Strowman) to care about. The Jax/Rousey stuff is still awful, the tag division is weak, and as has been commented on before there are just no stars on the show.

Doesn't matter. It's a bullshit figure they pulled out of their arse. She's had more than 26 matches against Charlotte alone.

Is it only PPV matches they are counting?

Of course she’s hovering around 50/50. Everyone on the roster is. That’s the problem.

Does anyone know the equivalent stat for the other women in the Money in the Bank match with Banks?

  4. There is still just so much wrong with Raw and WWE at the moment.

The Lashley/Zayn stuff was just terrible, but sadly it was exactly what we all expected from WWE when they said they would be having Lashley's "sisters" on the show this week (they were either going to be men or fat women).

Alexa Bliss should not be losing to Ember Moon at the moment. Mickie James causing a DQ and Moon fighting off James and Bliss was the obvious way to go.

Jax and Rousey does not feel as big as they are going to try to make it out as being. Jax just does not have any momentum behind her after struggling to beat Bliss (who just lost clean this week to Ember Moon) in her last title defense, and has never been portrayed as the dominant wrestler she looks like she should be. If they had booked the match for at Summerslam or later in the year, then they could have tried to build Jax up as an unstoppable/dominant champion, but they have rushed the match without putting any thought into it until the last minute. Steph picking out their flaws really does not help either.

Reigns is a lost cause at the moment and putting him with Jinder is doing nothing positive for him.

Its a shame they havent really capitalised on that brilliant match at Mania and had something ready for Ronda. I mean, of all the girls, she should have had a program ready for the next night. Instead, shes walked to the ring for the save 2 or 3 weeks and not much else. She should have been in a tag match at Backlash and then probably a singles at MITB. You can then quite easily keep her away from the title match until Summerslam and give her a decent run with it.

Talking of Rousey, she wrestled on a show in Geneva, Switzerland today, teaming with Ember Moon and Natalya vs. Mickie James, Ruby Riott, and Liv Morgan.

Also, was that six man tag the main event? I was pottering around this morning doing jobs with it on in the background. Caught the Brock match and then it jumped to the six man tag but it felt like someone had taped a dark match and added it to the end of the video. It was weird seeing something shot just from the hard cam and no commentary. Did I miss something?

Not sure what version of Raw you were watching, but there was no Brock match or 6 man tag in the main event this week. Raw ended with Lashley/Elias/Owens.

Have to imagine we're getting a bait and switch of some kind, or Natalya turns on her and costs Rousey the match near the start so they can spin Rousey off with Natalya for a few months and away from the title picture.

Or the winner of the MITB briefcase cashes in during the match.

  8. Watched Anon earlier staring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried, and written/directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, Simone, In Time, Lord of War).
I like Owen and Seyfried and the film has some interesting ideas and visuals, but on the whole it is not a particularly good film. It's a really basic and generic sci-fi thriller (without any thrills), that moves really slowly though its 90-minute runtime towards a lackluster ending. You feel that Niccol thought he was making a timely movie containing important messages, when in reality he made a really average sci-fi movie that would have been better as something like a Black Mirror episode.

Plus, whilst I didn't have time to watch it tonight, that Drive Along with him and Alexa Bliss flirting looks like gold and that episode will almost certainly be the first I find the time to watch that show. They need to make that a storyline on the main show because they've got fantastic chemistry. Imagine Braun's ridiculous tux whenever they eventually did the wedding angle. It'd be so great.

It is worth a watch. It isn't great or anything, but you can see that Braun and Alexa are having a lot of fun during it. It leaves you wanting (much) more as Ride Along only seems to run for 20-minutes, and I would happily watch more of them together.

  10. Watched The Hurricane Heist earlier (in some cinemas and on Sky Cinema starting tomorrow). I wasn't expecting much, just a fairly entertaining action movie to pass 90-odd minutes, but it fails to deliver even that, even with a few recognisable faces in Toby Kebbell, Maggie Grace, Ryan Kwanten and Ralph Ineson, and being directed by Rob Cohen. It's just so incredibly average and generic, poorly written and poorly made, to the point where they really should not have bothered.

Braun's partner should be Alexa, that would be awesome storytelling after the fun they've had in the MMC.

It will be interesting to see what WWE do with the MMC match tonight. You would have thought that Braun & Alexa were going to win the whole thing given that their charity is Connor's Cure (and that they have been the best duo). But Asuka loses her unbeaten streak if she or Miz lose the match (or so say WWE, based on their quarter final match). It is going to end up being Asuka pinning (or submitting) Alexa again while Miz distracts Braun isn't it?

How's Maverick been doing? I'm always interested in hearing how he's doing. If I had better finances, I might have got the Network by now to watch NXT, and knowing Drake's around would add to the appeal.

He is doing fine. He pops up in backstage segments with the participants of the tournament to (try to) stamp his authority.

Yes, absolutely. There's a similar thing to this in I Saw the Devil where someone gets their ankle sliced and it's equally vile.

Sympathy for Mr Vengeance has a similar scene where the back of the ankle is sliced that I found to be just as hard to watch. I found the ending of Mr Vengeance, where the group pin a note to the chest of Dong-jin and leave him to die, to be quite disturbing the first few times I watched the film as well.

It's a bit of a let down and all over the place (obviously due to the fact it was never meant to be part of the Cloverfield mythos) but there's a few nice surprises - albeit tacke on - throughout.

Just watched The Cloverfield Paradox and I pretty much agree with the above. It is pretty good, but it is a bit of a mess and they could have done much more with the film.

  15. The have recently announced a 4th film in the Cloverfield series, currently called Overlord (to be released October next year).

The plot seems to be: In 1944, two American paratroopers are shot down over Normandy in the midst of the D-Day invasion and they discover that the Nazis are using supernatural forces against them.

I liked the first two Cloverfield films, so I will have to give the new one a watch tonight. A bit surprised at the sudden release.

Minor news, but former UFC fighter Alexis Dufresne was meant to fight on the card (vs. Amber Leibrock), but the fight has been scrapped after Dufresne missed weight by an undisclosed amount (apparently 10lbs). She has now missed weight five times in a row.

They need to put him against a truly detestable heel in order to gain cheers or just bite the bullet and turn him heel, which I thinks his more natural role.

The problem is WWE do not have a detestable heel and do not have the ability to create one either. They would start to build someone up as the top heel, and then get bored and move onto someone else (or bring Kane back again/put Kane in that position).

Wonder what the Shield will do at Survivor Series now, unless they just win the belts back next week or something.

    Shield vs. New Day

Raw's mens Survivor's team looks a bit pants though.

Other than Jordan it is not a bad team - Angle, Strowman, Joe and Balor. It matches up well enough with the Smackdown team of Shane, Nakamura, Orton and Roode (and Styles or Rusev).
