  1. Has to be Danny Dyer.

    I'd watch!

 Forget a black Doctor, a woman Doctor or a gay black woman Doctor, it's high time we had a foul mouthed cockney geezer Doctor, decked out in cheap jewellery and sports casual attire.
  2. Yeah I love Touching the Void too. Incredible story, that guy is fucking tough. I have to say I would probably just roll up into a ball and wait to die. You get the feeling that although he claims to have forgiven the other guy for cutting him loose, deep down he despises his actions.

The Boney M thing is really funny too, I often get really inane music stuck in my head at the most inappropriate moments

  3. Watching Hannibal at UK Living pace and very much enjoying it so far. Thanks for the heads up to those who mentioned it earlier in this thread.

I find Will Graham mildly irritating but their vision of Lecter is very good...more of the undercurrent of subdued menace in Manhunter than the camp theatrics of Silence of the Lambs. I do hope they don

  4. Just had a chuckle at the Australian squad for the Ashes. It really is amazingly lacking in players that England will be worried about.

Michael Clarke (capt), Brad Haddin (vice-capt, wk), David Warner, Ed Cowan, Phillip Hughes, Shane Watson, Usman Khawaja, Chris Rogers, Matthew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Ryan Harris, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird.

3-1 to England. And England were crap in New Zealand as well.

Never has a more ramshackle ensemble of scoundrels, thieves and rapists ever got together in the name of Australian cricket. Not one of these larakins is even fit to light Jonathan Trott's pipe. Anything less than a 5-0 whitewash will prove to be an an embarrassment to English cricket.

  5. Shame it was in the IPL instead of an international game/tournament.

    Exactly.

This so-called IPL is a carnival of fools and lackwits, a foul bastardisation of cricket designed for dribbling imbeciles with their Xbox, tattoos and Nandos.

I say the mental attrition of a five day test is the true test of a cricketer

  6. I thought it was absolutely shit. I saw the ending coming from the start (not the fact that it turned into The Wicker Man, but who he fights) and if a film can't fool me then it's obviously not very good.

You did very well to spot that from the start! I had no idea where they were going with the story right up until the last act and I was pretty surprised (not least disappointed) where it did go in the end. Despite all that I think there was much to admire about the film.

  7. Did anyone watch Kill List on telly the other night (or any other time that matter)? Heard so many wildly different opinions on it and on paper it was the sort of thing I might enjoy so I was intrigued. I basically thought it was brilliant up until the last act...the dialogue and performances (particularly the lead) were totally authentic and convincing...terrific camera work and use of a daunting soundtrack...the slow build up of tension and foreboding was well handled and the violence was brilliantly brutal!

I just felt the last third let it down a bit as it sort of relied more and more on horror clich

  8. My guide on what not to back at Cheltenham today goes as follows:

Big E/W double on Sam Winner (14.05) and Ballynagour (16.00)

Then going to blow my nads on Arabella Boy in the rescheduled Cross Country.

  9. Someone remove this bullshitter please.

I'll be taking a WP Mullins day today at Cheltenham.

    Lucky 15: Back in Focus, 13:30 @5/2, Pont Alexandre, 14:05 @11/10, Boston Bob, 14:40 @4s and Abbey Lane, 16:00 @7s.

Yeah, my statto pal on Facebook agrees on Mullins -

Starting to think that Willie Mullins has been reading the stats for Cheltenham and has planned all his horses to follow those routes. Nearly every race today has a Mullins horse top or second in the stats:

1.30 Back in Focus , Godsmejudge , Emperors Choice

    2.05 Pont Alexandre

    2.40 Boston Bob , Goulanes

    ... 4.00 Abbey Lane , Pendara

4.40 Zamdy Man , Another Sensation , Milord

The bumper is too tough to sort on stats as so many qualify but it wouldnt suprise me if Mullins took that with Union Dues. Sprinter Sacre is so far ahead that a 20 length or more win is not impossible. 11-8 in places to win by 10 or more still looks generous.

  10. 3/4 winners for me on my Lucky 15, great racing as always from Ruby, makes a profitable start to the Festival.

Well played squire - any idea what's going on with the Cross Country? Will they run it later in the week?

  11. Sore one on the golf guys but thats the breaks i'm afraid. Sods law as Tiger was going to be a tip for the event at Bay Hill in a fortnight which he has an absolutely incredible record at over the years. The weekends events will not only shorten his price for this but also the Masters next month.

No worries fella, had a good weekend on the footy so came out of the weekend well on top despite Tiger's best efforts. Keep the golf tips coming, I love watching it but don't know enough about it to make educated bets!
