  1. Didn't El Hijo del Repo Man participate in one of the Gut Checks at some point?

I googled that because I so wanted El Hijo Del Repo Man to actually exist. I was bitterly disappointed. :(

Looks like 'Ring Warriors' have got a better roster than TNA. Scoot Andrews! Vito! Mosh! New Jack!

Wait... What? Didn't New Jack retire in April? Don't tell me he's back already.

  2. Can someone please explain to me what the fuck "Discretionary viewer participation is advised" means on Pre-Expansion WWF programming?

Surely that's just a bloated way of saying "Viewer discretion is advised", IE: warning parents of questionable content.

  3. A tables match where the heel wins by merely TELLING the ref he'd put his opponent through a table (he hadn't)

Absolute pedantic cuntism here, but wasn't it a powerbomb match?

I'll stick up for D2D and say it's not the worst PPV ever. The Hardys/MNM match and Elimination Chamber save it from that unwanted honour, because they're actually both really good if you take them at face value. But everything in between? Fucking hell, it's grim. I mean totally devoid of anything even remotely approaching enjoyable. They literally had a 90 minute gap in the card on the day of the show as those two aforementioned matches were the only ones announced. So they just threw together 4 matches that were so unbuilt they made Superstars look like Wrestlemania X-7. I actually think it is the closest you can get to actually feeling dead. So no, D2D is not the worst, but it really comes fucking close.

My personal least favourite would be Wrestlemania 2.

  4. Green Mist - Vision is blurred temporarily, more of a distraction.

Red Mist - Burns the face.

Black Mist - More vicious form of the green, blinding the opponent. Whereas Green is more temporary, like the Mr. Fuji salt in the face where the effect lasts a couple of minutes, this one is usually sold for days/weeks.

Blue Mist - Sends the opponent to sleep.

Yellow Mist - Paralyses the opponent.

I am by no means an authoritative source on Muta, so I could be wrong, but I think this is it. I would nominate the Yellow for being the worst, but you could definitely make a case for the black.

EDIT: Bastard. Phone ran out of charge before I could post it and someone else got in before me.

  5. Yeah, I'm the same. I have a ton of wrestling DVDs that I bought cheap and never have the will to watch. I pretty much only watch DVDs in bed and with full events, I'm falling asleep by the midcard title match. At least with sets I can watch a couple of matches each night at my leisure, but now that I have a job where I need to wake up at a decent time, there's no fucking way I'm watching a 3-hour PPV in full when I go to bed.

  6. That's the thing, isn't it? These spikes happen quite a bit, but the next week it always goes back down to that set rating. I don't know what it is, but people just won't watch Impact two weeks in a row. It's baffling.

And Sabin as champ? Fucking hell. Did anyone give him a chance beforehand? Did anyone even think he was realistically World champ material? He looks terrible nowadays, is getting on a bit and has knackered knees. It's a nice feelgood story, but when the show ends, you kind of realise that it's still Chris Sabin.

  7. Can anyone name the last time someone lost on their debut in WWE or even name any notable people who lost in their first match? I'm looking for proper workers who've either been involved in fueds, featured heavily on TV, won a belt or even just did anything to earn a regular job in the big leagues, so no jobbers or local scrubs.

  8. You can get Dailymotion on the 360. Not sure about PS3, but it's been on 360 for ages,

Hmm... interesting! Never shown up when I've searched for it, but then the 360's search is shit. Cheers Trips.

You can get Youtube as well, which is good for watching older matches. Still, I do like to watch Impact and Raw on the telly, because my Xbox is in my bedroom and fuck trying to watch them when I'm half asleep.

    EDITED: Death to tit quoting.

  9. 20130702_SPLIT-SCREEN_EP_LIGHT_sundaynightheat_C-homepage2.jpg

got a link from facebook to this picture. I then watched all 8 clips of sunday night heats best moment. but it doesn't have any clip that relates to the picture of triple h, roaddogg and x-pac.

I never seen that picture before it looks to me like triple h is being helped out of the lions den cage? anyone know anymore?

    EDIT

my fault I just clicked on watch all clips when I should have clicked next. two pages on it tells you boss man took on triple h in the lions den. learn something new every day I though it was always a shamrock match

Didn't Bossman/HHH take place on a show when the Union was in charge and Shamrock booked it?

That episode you're thinking of was the one where Stone Cold was in charge and gave each of the Union the match of their choice, but it was Vince McMahon that Shamrock chose, but Shamrock was attacked by Jarrett on the way to the Den and Vince was declared the winner. I really enjoyed that angle when I saw it recently.

  10. Can anyone else see WWE buying ROH and TNA like they did with WCW and ECW in 2001.

I suppose they might pick 'em up if they're cheap enough for DVD footage. They're not really worth much other than if they release a new Punk DVD or something.

Whoa, hold the boat! If they're signing people to new deals they're not quite dead yet!

I bought lunch from Burger King today. Doesn't mean I'm doing well financially, though.

    It's all about image.

  11. This thread is just grim over the last week or two. Sting wanting to wrestle at Mania, Vladimir Romanov on the abacus in payroll, people disappearing from the roster unexplained, RVD walking out the door when Dixie's making tea in the other room, on-the-road touring haemorrhaging them cash. I'm expecting Bischoff to address Aries and Hardy by payphone and announce a Night of Champions any time soon.

  12. Richie! It's always a pleasure to see you waxing lyrical about the gruesome goings-on of the Feathmatch feds. I always feel I should love it more than I do, but I think I suffer from "Apter mag syndrome" where I enjoy reading about the matches more than I do actually watching them. Couple of questions:1. Is Freakshow the same guy who used to be known as Iceberg? I always liked him, and can't believe he had a 2-year title reign if so.2. What would you say are the top deathmatch workers going today? I've heard a lot about Callihan, does he even do many deathmatches?I hope this thread catches on like the totally-merited-Golded last thread.
