  1. This has probably been answered already but just to clarify, how scripted is Total Divas. I'm in the middle of watching an episode featuring Naomi and Jons wedding and Rikishi hasn't turned up, I'm not sure why but I find it all a bit fake that he would miss his sons wedding.

Also Natalya talking open sex and the general talk about sex during many episodes and the terms like 'hitting it from behind' aren't very PG also Natalya's fight outside her house with Summer Rae looked totally fake as well.

  2. Is it just me or does Charlotte remind you of Michelle McCool which is no bad thing as McCool was easily the best Diva of her time for wrestling ability, in my opinion. I really hope we see Charlotte moved to the main roster soon along with a number of other NXT divas who are producing some great matches. The main roster divas really need to start up-ing their game, I can see some main roster releases next year once the influx of NXT divas start coming up.

  3. just seems everyone who comes from NXT excluding bray wyatt goes on a mad run of 3-6 months unbeaten ending in nothing

How else do you get someone over? You have two choices, have an undefeated streak which will ultimately end when Cena beats them, or have them lose every week to Kofi Kingston but they have some good moves so hopefully they'll still be over when they get hot shotted into a feud with Cena, which ultimately ends in them not really being over because nobody who loses to Kofi is really a threat to Cena.

There's always that middle ground though. Personally my answer would be engaging storylines / fueds and not burning through every match possibility on free TV, though I appreciate with the amount of hours they have to fill that this is pretty hard in this day and age.

Mind you there's nothing wrong with the "talented underdog who often loses" push. Did wonders for Daniel Bryan.

I think often the problem with the pushes new talent often receive in WWE is that they are forced down the thoughts of fans in a prominent spot and its often to much to soon and it gets tiresome seeing them pushed in the same routine way, squash matches and a undefeated streak the ends when fans or the office grow tired of them or because the wrestler drops the ball and hasn't got the tools to get over properly. I think instead of force feeding them to fans and allowing them to walk before they run would really allow them to find their feet and get to grips with their abilities and were they fit in.

I think new stars should be allowed to simmer lower down the card with a small amount of promotion prior to their debut, they should have very little gimmick and they should have competitive matches and be given they opportunity to prove themselves against talent and experienced hands. A slow burn push that gives the fans the opportunity to judge for themselves wether or not they want to get behind them or not. The process should take a year or there about. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are key examples this system works. They weren't forced upon the fans, they worked from the bottom up and were allowed to grow slowly and naturally. To much to soon doesn't work as is the case with Rusev, Ryback, Tensai, Adam Rose. Rose shouldn't have been given such a big gimmick early on because it hasn't worked and the reason being its probably a million miles from the person he really is, now that his gimmick has crashed and burned its going to he really difficult for him to pull himself back up. Its not his fault, it was to much to soon, he should have been allowed to find his own feet and be built slowly through competitive matches to see if had what it takes and if he did then gradually pushed and if not be gradually and silently pushed out the door. Its obvious WWE are desperate to create new stars because their old ones are getting....old but WWE is not doing themselves any favours by pushing the life out of new stars because the interest, excitement and buzz burns out to quick. Wrestlers need time to develop before they are pushed to the moon.

Everyone likes a under-dog story, i think new talent should pay their dues as well, Randy Orton jobbed to alot of people prior to his push as did John Cena when he he first started out. I think the problem in WWE also is that they are attempting to push to many wrestlers at one time, Rusev, Rollins, Reigns, Rollins and the Wyatts and there's not enough creativity and experienced wrestlers for them to really get over properly because there's to much going on. Only one of them can be the break out star that ultimately becomes the face of WWE and they others will probably burn out and fall by the way side when that happens. If you put all your good ideas and creative momentum behind a wrestler early on it proves difficult to maintain that creativity, especially if that wrestler hasn't got a great deal of experience or lacks in certain areas wether it be his wrestling or promo skills. There's not enough creative energy for everybody to effectively get over enough to the point were they are established enough to coast through and remain at the top of the card no matter what because they simply are who they are ie Cena, Orton, BigShow, Triple H and the like.

  4. First time i have posted in this topic but in just wondering does anybody know anything about Rob Mills? I worked with him for a few years when he wrestled as Bomber Mills for wZw, he was a great talent and had an impressive big man wrestler look. I know along side wrestling he did MMA and in pretty sure he fought on a Bamma card at some point and on other MMA shows. I lost contact with him when wZw stopped running shows and i often wonder what hes up to these days in regards to his MMA career. Iv seen a couple of old youtube videos of him training but that's about it, any ideas what hes up to these days?

  5. I really enjoyed the Sherri Martel shoot interview, she came across really friendly and positive about her career. She didn't really criticize anybody but she told some excellent and interesting stories like how when she worked for the AWA, Scott Hall would call down for pasta she made, all the wrestlers lived in the same complex which would have been fun i bet. Its such a shame that not long after she died, she seemed like a very nice passionate person about her friends and the business and from what i can tell a lot of people who she managed or worked with seem to only have nice things to say about her.

  6. I read yesterday on prowrestling.com that during an interview with Stephanie McMahon she said that WWE are in talks to bring Wrestlemania to England in the future, i think she actually said a Wrestlemania type PPV i cant remember exactly but i wonder how true it is, was she just being polite? Or is their serious talks about it actually happening. This isn't the first time its been rumoured but to hear it actually said from Stephanie is pretty interesting.

  7. I just picked up "Gene Lebell - The Toughest Man Alive" for 50p. Is it any good?

I read the book a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it as far as i can remember. Gene LeBell is one tough tough man, he has a fascinating and interesting story, I remember he talks about both his wrestling and MMA career. He refereed the match between Ali and Inoki and was often requested to work/shoot wrestlers who didn't want to do business or needed to be taught a lesson. He is the mentor of Roddy Piper also and has worked with Rhonda Rousey as far as im aware.

  8. I find I often agree with Powerslams opinion of WWE, its refreshing to read an honest review of WWE programming most of which tends to echo what is wrote on this forum.

By whom? By you. And by no-one else.

    *e-punches C-Rock in the eye*

No, just in general they seem to agree about the quality of PPV's/matches as people on here do. Its not as though their opions are totally outragious, if a perticular match wasn't very good its often the same opinion as Powerslam and people on here. I agree with Powerslam when they make certain suggestions or ideas, they seem justified and understandable but with that said I dont watch a lot of WWE at all, I don't watch a lot of wrestling at all tbh, I dip in and out and like to keep up with the latest goings on and will watch if it something interests me. WWE isn't exactly my cup of tea at the minute which I have made obvious on here before and won't go in to again, I agree with their opinions on John Cena as do many others on here that he isn't very good at all and by the obvious reactions by the people in attendance at WWE events so do many others around the world. I am a a wrestling fan and worked in British pro-wrestling for nearly 6 years, I'm not a mark and I don't take WWE and wrestling in general as seriously and as passionatly as many others obviously do on here.

  9. I buy Powerslam out of habit and find I read it fairly quickly, not everything in the magazine interests me i.e. Japanese/Indie stuff. I like their History of PPV section and on sometimes they have a interesting interview with somebody I'm interested in reading about like someone who has an fasinating story, if its an indie-guy or somebody whos only been around a couple of years then I tend to by pass it.

I find I often agree with Powerslams opinion of WWE, its refreshing to read an honest review of WWE programming most of which tends to echo what is wrote on this forum. If its good then Powerslam will say its good and if it was shit then they will say it and like I say I find myself agreeing, their opinions are constructive and interesting. I admire their knowledge and understanding of the history of the business and I find their articles on topics such as the territory/old school days and general trivia interesting.

  10. I'm sure I missed the explanation for this but why has Summer Rae been ditched for Layla? Has she been injured or something? She hasn't been on TV since Layla took over has she? Did they really do a break up angle over twitter and not at the very least on Main Event, NXT or Superstars?

She has been out filming a new WWE Studio's movie, I think its another the Marine sequal perhaps.

  11. Fair play, watching those vignettes I thought he'd beaten Don Cheadle for the worst English accent ever. I stand corrected....Big Don still wears the crown.

Charlie Hunnam in Green Street gives Cheadle a run for his money. Katie Lea Burchill had the worst one in wrestling that I can think of. Who else has pretended to be English in wrestling?

Charlie Hunnam is from England, he is from Gosforth in Newcastle.

  12. Just checked WWE.com something I don't often but first thing I did when I got on to my computer for no real reason and it took my breath away to read about the hugely sad death of the Ultimate Warrior. Love him or hate him the guy was a performer through and through, he had they incredible ability to hold any crowd in the palm of his hand after the first few cords of his epic entrance music.

It makes things a little easier knowing that just days before his death he was embraced by WWE and the in a lot of ways the wrestling business as a whole, he went out on a high, hopefully with passion, pride and happiness in his heart. Its nice to know that he must have realised in the last few short days the love and respect that was felt for him by many, I've got a feeling that over the past weekend and days hatches were buried and he was on good terms with a lot of people which is a nice feeling. Its so sad that he has passed but the Ultimate Warrior is immortal and will never be forgotten.

    RIP Warrior!!!

  13. I've glanced through some recent interviews with Chris Jericho and he really comes across like a right prick, the way he talks about wrestling and WWE its almost as if he's to good for it all now and is very blasay (if thats how you spell it) its almost as if he's embarrassed by his career. He talks about whether he may or may not return to WWE and it seems as if he's thinking the fans and the WWE should hold their breath while he decides, his wifes not a fan and his kids aren't fans and there not really bothered about wrestling....I think they need to realise its wrestling/WWE that got them the big house and their comfortable living.

I used to really respect Jericho and his long and varied career, I've read both his books and I really thought I felt his passion for wrestling but I suppose the Rock and Roll music lifestyle has dwindled that passion or it could be the fact, he's done with wrestling and now feels his can look down upon it. I couldn't care if he returns or not, he's no Austin, Rock, Hogan as much as I can imagine he feels he is. He's probably made a lot of money over the years and probably continues to do so but he needs to realise that if theres ever a time his music career falls flat on its arse its more Chris Jericho that will need WWE than WWE needs Chris Jericho.

  14. I think its obvious were going to get some suprise entrants in the Battle Royal, WrestleMania needs a healthy dose of nostalgia my picks for entrants are... Kevin Nash, Roddy Piper and the Ultimate Warrior. If he's healthy enough at the time I'd also love to see Jake Roberts in it as well and win but more likely I can see Cena winning with him and Warrior being the last 2 and Hogan pulling down the tope rope when Warrior is about to hit his splash on Cena and a stare down with Hogan and Warrior to finish. But then again I can't see Warrior being up for looking the fool espessially at Hogan's expense so perhaps not but you could have the same senario with Piper, I'm sure Piper would just appreciate being at Mania, he's made it obvious he wants a spot on the show and it would play off the first WrestleMania.

Orrr have either Rowan or Harper be the 2nd last elminated behind Piper, Cena is down on the outside and have Piper and Rowan/Harper about to attack Hogan and Warrior makes the save ending with a stare down between Hogan and Warrior but then a epic hand-shake and Hogan, Warrior, Cena celebrating together.

  15. Not sure if anyone cares to have a look through this but I found it interesting, I didn't know a lot of them....
