  1. In Harley's book he states that he would always make sure that when he slammed Andre he would hold him up for as long as he could in order to make sure that a picture was taken when he would see the flash it was his que to slam him all the while Andre would just have to wait much to his anger as Andre hated being slammed in the first place never mind being held up for a long period than necessary. However Andre and Harley were great friends and Harley was on of the very few that Andre would allow slam him...especially on the floor as well lol

  2. the Undertaker (50 years old) against Shane McMahon (46 years old) inside Hell in a Cell, I'm not sure when Shane last had a match but he has 6 weeks or so to get back into ring shape...this match is either going to be balls to the wall great, were both men think fuck it lets just got out their and fuck up our bodies and give the fans what they want or its going to be really crap because Shane's is booked to loose already due to the fact he has a day job he needs to return to after WrestleMania and he would rather return without any broken bones or server aches and pains which will take longer to heel because of his age. Or it may come out that Shane's career outside WWE has nose-dived and his business's/companies aren't doing so great so he has jumped ship back to WWE were he then could win and take over Raw and continue after Wrestlemania in a full time position as the General Manger of Raw.

I can't see Shane continuing as Board of Director for his company in China and being a full time (or even part time) character in WWE.

  3.

A news broadcast regarding a lawsuit against WWE, Chuck Austin a jobber in the early 90s was paralysed in the ring when facing the Rockers. He took the Rocker Dropper from Marty Jannetty and spiked on to his head causing him to be paralysed from the shoulders down. It shows you the moment it happens.

It's clear that with only a few months of training he wasn't experienced enough to be in a WWE ring even as a jobber, he obviously takes the move wrong and stays on his feet while Jannetty goes up and it appears he spikes himself in to the matt a more experienced wrestler would know to take a simple front bump (unless it's RVD lol) with that said it was negligence of WWE to allow a such an inexperienced wrestler to appear as a jobber but Chuck knew what he was letting himself in for and probably inflated his experience level when selling himself as wrestler in order to get a spot on the show.

Just read and updated this post, he was later awarded in 94, 26.7 million....holy shit. That was one expensive Rocker Dropper, I'm really surprised WWE allowed for Jannetty to use the move after that.

  4. I have just ordered Lou Thesz book 'Hooker' heard and read some excellent reviews, so really looking forward to it being delivered. I just finished ready a book on Gorgeous George was was very very interesting and he was not at all how I imagined he would be as person outside the ring. Well worth reading if you have a chance!

  5. I think Raw would be better if they had more matches with stipulations, like cage match, table, hardcore etc. It wasn't that many years ago Raw featured TLC matches...I'm not saying every show needs to feature these kind of matches but a sprinkling over the months just adds a little flavour to shows. Also for me I'd like more nostalgia with appearances from legends from the past even if its to give a rub to a current superstar but with that said WWE shouldn't have to rely on bringing back stars from the past to boost ratings but if done for the right reasons to put over the current roster then I see no problems. They should have totally had Ric Flair as a manager of somebody like Dolph Ziggler just to give him some star power. WWE really needs to be more edgy as well and more controversial and stop trying to be so main stream, its like Eric Bischoff said controversy creates cash.

I'd also put somebody with a wrestling background as head of the writing team like Paul Heyman or as already been mentioned Vince Russo, it certainly wouldn't harm to give it ago if WWE feels comfortable giving the Rock the main event at WrestleMania I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem kicking some snotty 20 year old out of the writing team and replacing them with somebody with actual creative talent.

WCW had to go through various bookers in the late 80's early, 90's before they found their feet with Bischoff and became an over night sensation.

  6. I think WWE is lacking in star power overall and most of the matches are very generic, similar to each other and repetitive week on week. There's no fire or intensity in any of the Superstars or storylines and everything feels really fake and hammed up, there was more drama in the Power Rangers than in WWE TV at the moment, there's no cliff hanger endings or storylines with a controversial risqué edge to them that fans can really sink their teeth in to. The good guy against bad guy storyline is bland and boring and WWE lately seem to be coasting along on this month it's this good guy against this bad guy each week on Raw with very little in the way of storyline or depth leading to a weak PPV match then straight after they are switched and the same formula is used again.

WWE is becoming to main stream and instead of thinking outside the box they are firmly stuck inside of it. It's almost like WWE has given up on Raw because it's become un-fixable and on a downward slide and instead they are focusing more on NXT were the possibilities and surprises etc same endless because they have fresh and raw talent that can still be molded and a fan base that probably haven't seen a fraction of what NXT can pull out of the bag, NXT is the underdog compared to Raw and Smackdown with room to grow and expand and it's fan base is firmly behind it were as Raw peaked years ago and now it's meh i might watch it but I'm not bothered if I miss it or I'll watch it but fast forward through most of it.

I think the only saving grace for Raw long term will be the influx of NXT talents to spice things up. They dropped the ball with the Shield because the WWE writers lack long term vision and worry more about the here and now and I can imagine have the mentality of lets think about tomorrow, tomorrow. WWE storylines fail to have a beginning, a middle and a climatic dramatic end. I also miss fueds having a big blow off stipulation like 3 Stages of Hell or something like that and I miss the days of TLC matches on Raw. Food tastes bland without a little spice and WWE TV is the same thing. Raw is like eating a bland omelette every week on the same day after a while it gets boring but add some other ingredients and it becomes more enjoyable.

The only problem with the NXT Superstars who are on fire in NXT is that when they are called up to the main roster it's almost like they have to water down their skills and abilities in order to not out shine and match the tired and not as good abilities of the veterans that have been with WWE for ages and have become stale. The obvious example being the Divas Revolution and and the NXT girls having to dumb down their skills and abilities in order to work with the Bellas/Alicia Fox and they others. I think one buy one, the veteran Divas should be quietly sent back to NXT to smooth up their rough wrestling a skills.

WWE having to rely on bringing back the Undertaker/Ric Flair/the Dudleys and others to add some star power and the entertainment factor doesn't scream they have loads of faith in their young current Superstars. WWE must be praying the answer to their long term problems and decline is in NXT and this could probably be the case but looking at the Divas Revolution and the barley tepid impact Adrian Neville and Kevin Owens have made its not looking good.

I think instead of praying the answers to their problems are in NXT they should be praying the Rocks movie career bombs, Austin decides to come out of retirement, Shawn gets a calling from the Lord to step back inside the squared circle and that Undertaker has at least another 20 years left. It's pretty bad for WWE that if Jake Roberts were to appear on Raw and deliver one DDT it would pop the crowd, cause more excitement and be more entertaining than anything WWE has done with its new talents in ages lol

  7. I have the Backlund one on order, really not sure what to expect from it as I don't know much about Backlund as a person away from the ring but I'm sure because of his history and through his runs in different eras/territories/promotions the book will be pretty insightful and interesting. I'll post a full review once I'm finished reading it.

  8. I'd of preferred for WWE/Rusev/Lana to have kept there engagement quiet and so that the storyline on Raw could have been played out as it felt on Raw they almost had to change the storyline abruptly without it really making sense because of the real life news breaking that Rusev and Lana are now engaged.

It goes to show how un-important that storyline must have been in that WWE weren't willing to protect it and instead let real life events mess things up on TV. How insensitive of Lana and Rusev to get engaged in the middle of a storyline were they are supposed to be feuding against each other.

  9. Celebrity Big Brother starts tonight it's rumoured Hulk Hogan will be entering the house. It should make for some entertaining and interesting viewing for wrestling fans who don't usually watch the show. I'll be curious as to how he tries to get himself over during his time in the house with his list of accomplishments that will probably feature facts that will have the truth stretched more than a new trainee was on his first day at Stu Hart's dungeon.

Is this a good career move for the Hulkster? I think so, it gets him away from the States for a couple of weeks were his racism controversy is still fresh in people's mind also it will give viewers here and worldwide I'm sure they opportunity to see a different side of Hogan, I can see him for the first week or so living his gimmick but as the days after roll by there's a good chance we will see a totally different side of Hogan which could go either way in regards to whether or not through his actions in the house he becomes in wrestling terms the loved face or the evil heel.

  10. I have just finished reading Capitol Revolution by Tim Hornbaker and it's close to being the best wrestling related book I have ever read. It's jam packed with history and facts all about how WWE be came what it is today starting with Jess McMahon and the birth of the NWA. The History of WWE DVD that was released recently was excellent I though but after reading Capitol Revolution it made me realise just how much was glossed over on the DVD, the book goes in to depth about key moments in WWE history and reveals on every other page something interesting I never previously knew.

If you have read, National Wrestling Alliance: The Untold Story of the Monopoly That Strangled Professional Wrestling also by Tim Hornbaker then you will know already just how rich his books are with knowledge and historical facts and information, Capitol Revolution is no different but better!

    Highly recommended!

  11. I'm suprised they don't have a picture of David on the front as he is often called the most over and popular Von Erich, unless the game was made after his death and could they have really picked a less attractive picture of Mike he looks awful, i know he wrestled for a short period after his battle with toxic shock syndrome and his appearance changed for the worse but they didn't have to pick and picture of him during that period which by the looks of it, it was.

  12. Pretty decent show overall, I'd of preferred to see Jesse vs Robbie go to a double count-out, they have just begun their fued it seemed odd for Robbie to get a clean win in their first match especially with him being the face. Heel should have went over first but double count-out would have been better. Suprised that Matt Morgan lost his first match back, its killed his momentum going forward but then again it was a forgetable match so who cares.

  13. Just from watching the highlights of Raw on wwe.com it's really apparent how mundane and lifeless the show has come. It's hardly must see TV, it feels as though they are just going through the motions and throwing together the obvious at the last minute.

There is very little in the way of star power on Raw these days and it doesn't say much for the young Superstars when WWE are still having to rely on a already established veteran in Brock Lesnar to bring some life to the show and even he looked like he couldn't be bothered.

It's embarrassing that WWE are still using the giant crash mat in this day and age, as was the case in the Owen's segment with Machine Gun Kelly. They made no attempt to even hide the fact it was a a crash mat who said wrestling is fake?....WWE did last night.

WWE has really lost its momentum and for me is flat-lining. The WWE Performance Centre and NXT may be bursting with talent but do we really want the WWE machine producing generic WWE Superstars and molding them to work a WWE style? You can be the best wrestler in the world and be able to do 650s and shooting star presses or whatever but if you havent got star power then your fucked and looking at the wrestlers in NXT they all seem to be able to do those flips and flops ike those in ROH or like the kind of wrestlers who perform in Community Centres up and down the UK in front of 50 people but the future isn't looking very bright. Samoa Joe, Kevin Owen's, Sami Zayn nobody in NXT can save WWE.

There are no potential mega stars left in wrestling anywhere in the world for WWE to discover. Any wrestler who has a decent look and can flip around is in with a chance of being signed to WWE Performance Centre, that's not great. WWE is having to roll out the tried and tested Tough Enough and scower the world to find potential talent because Triple H looked around the NXT locker room, sighed quietly and thought...The future of WWE is fucked.

  14. This might have already been asked but I didn't fancy scrolling through all of the posts but my question is I'm wanting to sign up for the Network and take advantage of the June for free in order to watch Money in the Bank tonight but when I'm having my card details processed its stating that my payment had been rejected, I probably don't have enough in my account to cover the 9.99 at the moment but I thought with it being a free month and the payment not being made until the end of the month there wouldn't be a problem in signing up. What's going on?

  15. Yeah Kanyons books is a pretty enjoyable read.

I've just orderd Capitol Revolution by Tim Hornbaker, I'm really looking forward to reading this book as I really enjoyed his book on the History of the NWA. Also, I think there will be some new insights to learn about the build of Capitol Wrestling and its transition through the years.

Iv also got Harley Race book on order and I'm hoping it's going to be as good as Terry Funks book which has been one of the best autobiographies iv read. I want to find out Harley's view on winning the title from Dory Funk when originally Funk was supposed to drop the title to Jack Brisco.

Has anybody read Superstar Billy Graham's book? I try to avoid books that were published through WWE as they tend to be watered down and not as honest as they could be, especially the writers true feelings in regards to WWE. With that said Freddie Blassie book is excellent and top 3 of the books iv read and that was published through WWE. His love for WWE seems genuine and not forced and the prior chapters all about his career prior to joining WWE feel as though he was given free reign to bash who and what ever he liked which he does and thus makes for some interesting and enjoyable reading. So massive thumps up for that book.

  16. Yeah I feel the same when I look at pics of him, he has sad eyes. I read in somebody autobiography that Andre hated being the centre of attention and constantly being looked at and talked about because of his size. I remember reading that he really wanted to learn and develop his wrestling skills but was told that he didn't need to because he just had to go out and look good. It must have been a tough life in a lot of ways but only the flip side he made a lot of money and became a huge star....I wonder if it was worth it to him. He was supposed to be at his happiest when he was on his home/ranch away from fans and cameras that's pretty sad.

  17. I refuse to buy his book because i completely disagree with the fact he hunts and kills animals and there's pictures in the book of him posing with the dead animals, in all honesty Shawn is one of the all time great wrestlers no denying that but I'm certainly less of a fan of him because of hunting hobby, I don't know how Christianity works but isn't he killing gods animals and all that? I made a point of stating my opinions on Twitter in regards to my disagreeing with him being a hunter and he replies #idontcare and then blocked me.
