  1. Top level players in any industry have a different set of rules to everyone else, they get paid more, they get listened to more, they have more influence on leadership and often they get a lot more leway when they fuck up.

In 2022 its not acceptable to punch people, even in an under-developed 3rd world country like the US. But for some reason I'm very much rooting for Punk and hope somehow he manages to stay or at least come back after a leave of unpaid absence or some shit?

I'd tend to assume all wrestlers straddle to the right unless otherwise stated. Especially from that era.

Yeah a lot of that era either 1) were mentored / hung on the every word of Vince Jnr and were massively influenced by his political leanings or 2) were from the Southern US bible belt.

    Or in Taker's case 1 & 2.

  3. There's a brilliant Jake Roberts RF shoot interview from the 2000s where he's sober and on incredible form.

He says Jericho is very talented, but he criticises him for trying to out-perform other wrestlers at their styles. He says he saw him try to out-power Rhyno, out-jump RVD and so forth, and advises him to stay within HIS character rather than try out-do others at their style.

    Thought it was interesting insight.

(To be fair, I don't know if the last four are actually fuckwits, I just know they ran on Republican tickets. They might well be reasonable people. I doubt it.)

Is Dutch and Road Dogg Republicans!? They always seem reasonable and down to earth and don't have that stench of Christian nationalism that most of the above have

  5. I've slated Cody in the past for not being as great as he thought he was and trying to appeal to smart fans with those pretentious AEW promos.

But I'm willing to put my hand up and admit I was wrong. He is a star. He's been phenomenal since his first appearance back at Mania. Looks like a star, talks like a star, acts like a star.

His babyface return is going to be something worth seeing.

  6. An aging Macho Man with zero steroids in him partners Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles against Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Macho's last in ring performance I believe? Actually an entertaining match. Macho saving the day looked shit but you could forgive it because he's a Mount Rushmore of Wrestling.

Just spotted two of the best wrestling jackets ever at For The Love of Wrestling in Liverpool.

Diana Hart was actually an incredible worker when you think about how authentic the emotions she portrayed to the viewers that day whilst wearing that jacket at SummerSlam 92. She looked genuinely emotionally torn and was a massive part of that matches story and visual presentation.

  8. Not much sympathy for Virgil and his plight? Assume it's because people think it's a stunt for money.

Hope he's okay and able to get back out there grifting soon.

This might sound ludicrous after everything I’ve said about Cody adequate Rhodes, but if he stays over enough, perception is reality, and if the paying public want it, I can easily imagine a scenario where he’s booked to beat a few of the other heels and starts looking for the title by SummerSlam.

Good to see you're already adopting one of the Mark Callaway 3 mental moves for life.

  10. Kevin Owens bumped like a king for Austin. Was great fun to watch.

Pretty much everyone and their dog said before hand keep that Austin should keep it short, talk trash stunner and beer which made sense. But Austin and Owens gave us a lot more. Loved it.

Vince has still got his marbles and is still giving us great nights like this.

  11. I've slagged Cody off tonnes for his arrogance, his cringey smart fan references and that fucking tattoo, but that match actually did have a main event feel in terms of the crowd reaction when he was announced and how into-it they were throughout the whole match. Credit to both Rollins and Rhodes, it was brilliant to watch.

But yeah, I can't see him making it to the main event level in WWE, but if he carries on in that vein he could surprise everyone.

  12. Credit to Cody, he delivered a great performance last night and the crowd were with him. The entrance was great and I absolutely loved the finish with homage to Dusty in between the 2nd and 3rd finishing move. That fucking tattoo even got over with it being in Texas.

  13. I'd absolutely fucking love for The Big Bad Booty Daddy / Freakzilla / White Thunder / Genetic Freak / Superstar / Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner to attend the hall of fame. There's only one Scott Steiner and with a mic in his hand he's TV gold.

  14. I'm looking forward to:

Stone Cold Steve Austin answers Kevin Owens' challenge (feel like this will be my highlight, cause Austin is truly one of the greatest of all time and still looks bad ass)

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns (think these two will deliver. The last time I stayed up for Mania those two had an amazing match. It was when Reigns was getting shat on by fans as a babyface and Brock F-5 him super early, then Reigns had a brilliant come back before losing. So if it's anywhere near that level of drama I'll be happy. Those two lads plus Heyman are top drawer)

Charlotte Flair (c) vs Ronda Rousey (Charlotte is fucking amazing and capable of bringing the best out of Rousey)

Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca BelAir (I thought Becky's sit down promo in the ring last week was epic and got me interested in this)

Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes (Interested to see what kind of reaction Cody gets. These two will be well matched and the action will be great. Also looking forward to laughing at that fucking tattoo)

Rhea Ripley (She's brilliant. Looking forward to see her winning her match)

AJ Styles vs Edge (despite the fucking horrific and illogical build these two lads are top class)

  15. His work that stands out for me was:

    - The retirement angle with Cactus Jack was excellent.

    - I loved all 3 of his Undertaker Mania matches. Incredible performances.

    - Thought the Angle / Ronda v HHH / Stephanie Mania match was an outstanding piece of business that blew the roof off the joint.

  16. Game Boy was one of the best heels of all time for me. I genuinely fucking despised him and it's only as I got older I realised he worked the shit out of me by being an obnoxious prick heel.

I love that he became a hate-figure with militant internet marks by working us into a shoot.

And I remember that babyface WWE run when he came back from the injury vividly.

Seems like a good solid family man and decent all round guy. He's in a heat spot management role but mostly people seem to respect him as a decent guy.

Gutted we won't see him in the ring competing one last time, but wish Game Boy all the best.
