Vinces little moustache at the HOF threatened to ruin Wrestlemania weekend for me, but thankfully Mania night 1 delivered huge. Charlotte and Ripley was fucking incredible. It really is incredible that those two Canadian boeys rocked the main event. Credit to Hunter for going with the people.

I know my self worth and value. It's been something that has been lacking in me the last 17 years of my adult life. I'm not being told to shut up and be quiet and put into a box.
I know that I am a 👑. I know that I'm a bad ass woman that won't take any crap from any man. I'm undeniable 💎
I won't be spoken to like that. I am a higher class of person. I interact with people who treat me so much better and would never dare interact with me as such.
Im now used to better things in life. I'm not having to deal with toxic men on an internet wrestling forum.
Im in social circles where I'm empowered daily. I'm treated like a goddess that I deserve to be within these spaces.
I know my value and self worth.
This is a worked heel gimmick surely? Saying things like "I am a higher class of person" is classic heel wrestler promo stuff.

Still gutted Lanny is gone. He was such an engaging character to listen to. Eccentric and quirky, but also clearly intelligent and humorous.
The Rene Dupree interview he did shortly before his passing reveals he spent time with Marco Pierre White which I found really bizarre and interesting. Think Marco paid tribute to him when he passed also.
RIP Lanny.

Big boss man has a good reputation too
Forgot about Big Bubba Boss Man! Extremely popular in every territory he worked in with the talent.

Great shout - Considering the levels of jealousy and envy in the wrestling business it's pretty incredible how highly regarded The Rock and John Cena are. In such a competitive cut throat toxic industry, these two lads must be salt of the earth human beings.

Can't believe we're three pages in without a mention for Owen Hart.
Doesn't seem to be a case that people just look back favourably due to the horrific circumstances of his untimely death either.
Seems to be that he was an all round great guy and family man who loved having a laugh.
Definitely a massively popular figure amongst the fans and his fellow wrestlers. With the exception of Austin and Dan Severn whome he hurt in the ring with botched tombstones.
I've heard a few guys playfully slag Owen off for how cheap he was, but he's generally admired for being a great laugh and one of the few loyal family men in the biz.

An offbeat suggestion but Hercules Hernandez. All the boys from his day seem to like him as some sort of goofy fella who didn't seem to be into politics etc, Roma even liked him loads. Also OMG/Akeem. I really like Bret's description of him, 'he just liked to read a lot.'
Yeah I've heard a tonne of shoot interviews where guys put him over as a lovable Big Guy who was as strong as an ox. Cornette's got a few good stories related to him saving the day from violent fans.

Haven't heard a bad word said about Danielson from anyone wherever he's worked.
Seems a truly decent bloke.
Great shout! Modern day stand up guy who seems to be loved by everyone from HBK to Jim Cornette and everyone in between.

Eddie Graham is held almost as a wrestling God by many prominent figures in wrestling. Seen as the original godfather of booking and story telling with massive positive influence by a lot of bookers since.

Who do you reckon is the most revered and respected person in wrestling? You can take a fan perspective or an insider perspective or both.
I'll start the ball rolling with William Regal. He seems to be universally loved and respected. Seems to be a guy who has a reputation as a hard man, but someone who isn't a backstage politician and basically just loves the business and nurturing talent. He's also a working class lad who's turned his life around from addiction to operate at the top level which is always admirable.
Had it been many other individuals ditching AEW after such a short run to go back to WWE I think they'd be getting shat on, but Regal has a tonne of good will from all quarters it would seem.

Yeah looks like something like what Orndhoff had.

If it was an illness or an accident then it's a shame. If he was a junkie then he shouldn't be missed.

Punk v Austin would give that whiny little prick Punk his main event at Mania and he's still good enough to bump around for Austin.
It would be money with Austin V a broom stick, but Punk would definitely add value, and he's a great natural heel.
They should bring him back working an entitled miserable never-happy always everyone else's fault gimmick.

I always found "excellence of execution" simultaneously cool and stupid sounding as a moniker.

I find it hilarious that wrestlers in the 80s and early 90s would flex their muscles for the go-home line of their promos.
Think about that for a second. Cutting promos into a camera is hilarious enough on its own, but flexing your muscles as you push out the last few words from your mouth is just hilariously daft and unique to wrestling.
Example of what I mean is when Bulldog says "so listen good" here:
-
Vince looks older in spite of the hair die and he also looks absolutely bored and miserable. He definitely wanted to continue to run the business until he dropped.
-
As a former fan who watched obsessively from 1990 - 2005 and now only watches shoot interviews of former stars and the occassional short YouTube clip of the modern product in order to whine and moan about how shit is - I'm sad to see a familiar and engaging character leave the industry.
I haven't watched any of Punk's matches, but I've loved his promo work and that initial return was one of the best moments in wrestling history. He does seem like a bit of an angry brat in the mould of Austin Aries who will always be a brooding moody employee regardless of his conditions.
He seems too stubborn to let bygones be bygones and turn this into a work, but time is a great healer so who knows. That would be epic if he came back in the future.

I loved every second of this.
