  1. It looked like it was taped on a Sharp Viewcam as well. Early 97 wasn't great for non US episodes of Raw. The episode filmed in darkness at the Toronto SkyDome because they sold relatively fuck all tickets especially stands out.

Hadn't they drawn amazing crowds in the same venue on earlier dates? I'm sure I recall a pic of HBK vs Goldust main eventing an exceptionally busy house show in Autumn 96. Rotten luck giving them a taping and no-one turns up!

The triple threat dark match main event on that '97 Skydome taping drew a decent crowd. Was watching it the other day and it looks far from terrible crowd wise.

  2. Should we knock that one on the head now? It's frightfully dull.

Do we reckon AJ is a conveniently-timed replacement for getting Rid of Dick, or is the "big name announcement" still to come?

Big announcment still to come i think. The AJ thing has been built up for 2 months and PCW have been pushing the fact their would be a big announcement pretty much the instant AJ's contract ran out. So that announcement was always on the cards before the hassles with Bowe. I could be completely wrong, but i haven't seen PCW refer to AJ as Bowe's replacment once, so i think it's safe to assume he isn't.

  3. I don't imagine anyone's going to lose too much sleep over that one. The amount of comments on that Facebook post from people saying words to the effect of "bin him off and get someone else in" was insane - I know booking Riddick Bowe didn't turn out to be as big a deal as PCW were hoping for (at least not in the fans' eyes) but I didn't realise it was quite so universally hated.

There was due to be an announcement of another name for the next show tonight, but Facebook said this instead:

    Bad News

No announcement tonight for Road To Glory. We need to remove somebody from the announcement images.

    Good News

'The Mouth Of The South' Jimmy Hart will be appearing in April 2014.

Tatanka and Rikishi are here in the uk that same week also. So maybe one of them will be added to the April show yet.

  4. "GIRO, GIRO GIRO, GIRO GIRO, GIRO GIRO GIRO!!"

Chant of the night hands down, based on last night they need to give Dar a live mic more often too.

Had a blast last night, it wasn't as great as the Supershow shows, but that's a damn hard act to follow. But it was still a great show and i left feeling i got my money's worth. Having Vader less than a foot from my face screaming "WHAT TIME IS IT!" was pretty awesome as a long time fan! Coming out of a toilet cubicle only to see Kirby in his ring gear taking a piss was somewhat surreal, it think mostly because mostly naked men aren't what i normally run into in toilets lol. It only got more surreal as Vader walked in!! Vader also stood on my other half's foot lol. Bubblegum continues to be one of my favourite UK guys and i never get bored of his act. Danny Hope and Mad Man Manson never fail to get me laughing either, i could watch those 2 all day. The lack of AJ wasn't really a big downer, and it now looks as though he will be at Road to Glory, so it's not all bad. The post-show Q&A only went just over half an hour, but was enjoyable while it lasted. Bonus of the night was arriving to find my graphic had been used for the 8x10s lol, i just wish Steve had told me he planned to use it so i could have reworked the image to the correct dimensions so it would print out right. Originally i'd just knocked it up for fun and used odd dimensions as i didn't really have any intention of it being used for anything.

  5. Still got photos of me when I met Blaze Bayley over a decade ago lying around somewhere. We both look a bit different now mind

Lol yeah, he's sporting the Uncle Fester look these days. A really nice guy to chat to, really down to earth.

Who is that in the photo with you?

    Phil Campbell of Motorhead

  6. Neville!?! Actually that's a great idea, it should be a blatantly different person playing Sin Cara all the time. The tattoo with Hunico was a good start. Next put the clearly not Hispanic Neville out there, then that huge Bulgarian fella from NXT, then ginger bollocks Sami Zayn, then Emma... and so on. I could get behind that.

Seriously though, as a permanent replacement it should be Primo all the live long day. Tremendous babyface and could do really well with it I reckon. Hunico hasn't got the same in-ring personality he has. Replace Primo in Los Matoadores with Hunico if you have to keep them going.

LOL.. The Neville suggestion is merely based on the guys i know of in NXT currently with a good high flying style and small build. Although i actually fully agree Primo would be a great fit if the Matadores gimmick is dropped. As for Hunico, he was much better than Mistico in the role when he came in as Sin Cara Negro. He's a lot better wrestling the US style and didn't botch things. Given a full run as the character i feel he has serious potential. Some irony in there somewhere too as he was the original Misitco.

  7. - WWE may have parted ways with Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the real Sin Cara, on Monday by informing him just a few hours before RAW. We're still waiting on confirmation of his departure.

Hunico will be working as Sin Cara going forward but may not be behind the mask permanently as there's already talk of bringing someone up from NXT to play the character.

WWE chose not to kill off the Sin Cara character completely because his merchandise has done well and there's a feeling that they have built up a character that pays into the colorful personality of WWE. The feeling is that the character didn't fail but the performer who played the character failed.

During the battle of the Sin Caras i actually thought sending Mistico to NXT and letting Hunico run with the Sin Cara character was a great idea. He clearly works better in a WWE environment. So i think Hunico taking the mask is a great move and hopefully he can take the character somewhere, as the kids still love it. Not sure what i think about him only being a transitional Cara though, the guy is fully equipped to be the character full time IMO. But if it's someone from NXT they're thinking of bringing up, it has to be Neville right?

  8. Just noticed on twitter an "evening with AJ Styles" has been announced for March. Cardiff, liverpool, glasgow, newcastle and london. Lot of evenings with in March. Anyone got any info, organisers?

Have looked and cant find anything. It won't be Eros as they have DDP over that same week. And i doubt its PSI given the level of guest and the fact they have Bret Hart over later that month.

  9. re: Davey - he really needs to sort out those fucking tattoos. I'm trying to think of somebody with comparable outright 100% fucking rubbish tattoos to have ever made it into WWE and I think the closest might be that guy with the acid house haircut who had a pair of massive pair of wings just above his arse

The only guy with massive wings above his arse i can think of is Bray Wyatt, cant be who you mean though right? As for other shit ink, Mr Kennedy had some real shit ink.

Although my pic with the Bellas was definitely a highlight during the week, as was my pic with SoCal Val. And even though the pic i got with the Mark Labett and Team Single was great, despite the presence of my t-shirt. This one had to be my favorite moment of the week by far..

  11. Uhaa Nation's amazing theme music:

Do love the tune. Uhaa is a beast! A guy with his build shouldn't be able to do the things he does in the ring. A real one of a kind performer who is a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Pretty cool guy too. Was easily one of the highlights of the past 2 days for me.

  12. I'm a fan of Harper and Rowan. Yeah, Rowan seems too quick in the ring and doesn't take in the crowd, but I'm wondering if he's been told to be like that. He's comes across like a big imbred half-tard. He looks like the sort of bloke that if you were in the same training school as him, he's the one no one wants to get in the ring with because he'll kick you in the head and not realise its fake. But his style is obviously safe enough.

Watching Rowan in the ring i've always thought the same thing, in regards to him being told to be like that any how. As i've never seen his pre WWE stuff, i can't say for sure. But his style really suits his character. Much like Harper's more composed and deliberate style suits him. It's very subtle, but you get the sense Harper knows what he is doing in the ring, wheras Rowan just swings at everything. Throw Bray in the mix and it's a good dynamic. Bray is the star of the group without question, but they're a decent backing band to his act. It gives a definite 'he's the leader, they're just his big angry followers' dynamic. I don't think that would be as black and white if they were wrestling a more 'skilled' style.

  13. By way of Twitter, Missy Hyatt has a plan:

i might go 2 hard rock casino w/ friends. if i hit the jackpot, i will start a rasslin promotion. moondog championship rasslin

i think a promotion with nothing but moondogs & concession stand brawls can be bigger than tna.rob naylor would be the gm out of pity

Missy Hyatt and no nudity, sex or general slutty antics involved?? I always figured her vision of TNA would be.. Well.. T 'n' A..

  14. We should do one of those for WrestleMania 40. Considering everyone's expecting WM XXX to be full of old timers, the current main event crew seem to be falling apart and nobody has a cleu who could possibly replace them it'd be impossible to get anything close to it I think.

Would still make for a fun topic though lol. It really is wide open.
