One takeaway I'd highly recommend from the weekend - I didn't watch any of the shows live. I watched them all the following morning/following day 'as live' and spoiler free. As a result I felt fresh as a daisy and it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the shows whatsoever - if anything it probably enhanced my enjoyment because I didn't feel like absolute death afterwards from lack of sleep.

It's the first year I've done that for the whole weekend - last year I think I stayed up for night one and as a result I was fucked for Night Two and only caught the main event the following day and wound up binning the rest.

I'm 34 now so I'm not as sprightly or as much of a night owl as I used to be. Also we've got new sheets and they are wonderful - like sleeping in clouds - which probably help a well.

I did exactly the same and as a not-so sprightly 34 year old also, I would recommend it too. Plus, watching it afterwards, you can skip 10 seconds ahead and miss all of the adverts for tax guff.

Most of the time it is. Vince has steered through plenty of scandals over the years, and he will do again.

"Don't spend time writing that article about the allegations, look over here and write 50 news articles on me daft moustache!"

  3. I dunno what's worse, Vince being back*, or the gloating from certain corners that its all gone to shit and then hate watching just to make sure its actually gone to shit, rather than having more than one TV show to enjoy. Mental how some wrestling fans minds work.

*It's definitely Vince being back, but you get my point.

  4. This might not have been the best Raw, but one thing to note, is Brock is the best in the business when it comes to beat downs to the point you wince at every hit. I've seen a few people talk about how Brock is safe as houses, but it sure as fuck doesn't look it.

Everyone's expecting Jay White, Randy Orton, NXT callups....yet we get Matt Riddle in the world's worst pants that looked like he had borrowed from lost property at PE.

  5. Poor Shane's out there making one last ditch effort for Daddys approval and he falls on his arse and blows out a quad. I can imagine Vince combing his moustache as Shane is helped to the back, not even making eye contact.

  6. Ironically, the one who fucked up Stratton's bump, was Valkyria, who is one of the more experienced women on the roster. She stuck her arm out and was never in a million years going to catch her.

Melo is the guy. Just pisses charisma.

  7. That main was pitch perfect. Just stunning throughout and I don't think I have felt genuine happy emotion from wrestling as I did at the end there, especially seeing who I believe is Sami's wife in tears.

Fantastic show from top to bottom with another tremendous showing from Logan Paul. It's right with what Cole said in that, you no longer see Logan as a celebrity, he genuinely feels like one of the roster.

Dom shithousing it up in the match was great and I presume the water throw spot is the one that was supposed to be on Smackers that they pulled after the MJF bit.

I'll be interested to see Dave's star rating for the first time ever when he seems to throw 5 stars out like smarties these days.

The only criticism I have, (and it's quite minor) is that there were 4 different Frog Splashes in 4 different matches (Montez, Logan, Rey and KO). Someone should be directing that shit.

  8. Jeremy Vine makes my skin crawl. For some reason his idiotic, baiting tweets seem to show up on my time line and every time I see them, my eyes bleed. The only thing worthwhile in a Jeremy Vine tweet, is everyone calling him an idiot in the replies.

How can Tim come across as a lovely chap (unless there's something I'm unaware of?), Yet Jeremy is a waste of oxygen.

Fucking hell though, Matt Hardy.  I think he legitimately knocked himself silly there for a bit doing a side effect on the floor, he was collapsing, they cut the camera away from him and Page and Jungle Boy did some floor shenanigans whilst the ref checked him.  And he looked out of it for the whole match afterwards.  He cannot do this any more, he looks completely destroyed before he even gets to the ring every time I see him.  He's heading for a wheelchair if he doesn't hang it up.  He can't still need the money surely?  AEW can keep him on as a trainer or a manager, but it's starting to feel irresponsible to have him out there wrestling.

Didn't he have issues with his back when in WWE the last time and they thought he may have to retire? That was a good few years ago now if I am recalling it correctly, the guy must struggle to get out of bed in a morning. It's not worth it, Matt.

Maybe, but the Screwjob was just a lot more momentous, because of what it revealed about the industry. There's not really all that much that's revelatory about this situation; anything we didn't know is not particularly surprising, and fits in with what we do know.

Oh I'm not saying they are on par, just that its a boring subject after while that people drive further into the ground.

  11. Brawl Out is going to be the new Montreal Screwjob, isn't it? Just something that will not go away and every 6 months or so, someone decides to do a 'deep dive' into what went down, blah blah blah.

  12. I am a voter, just to make that clear and this is purely from my own perspective, but I could also see an arguement for people not wanting to vote. You only have to look on social media, the media itself or anywhere discussing politics to see that for every 5 people slating the Tories, there are another 5 slating both labour and the Tories, but non-of those 10 are providing valid alternatives. So if I'm someone not as clued up on politics and election time rolls round, which way do I go?

The Tories are terrible, with the evidence to show, but I read countless arguements against Labour as well, that's those two out of the running for my vote. I don't say a lot, if any discussions around who the alternatives to those two are so who do I vote for?

I was 100% behind Corbyn, fell out with family over it and was genuinely gutted when he failed, but since that time, I haven't seen many (if any) alternatives pop up that are trying to grab my vote.
