  1. Ruca vs Stratton was very enjoyable. Both women have got bags of talent and could see both doing really well on the main roster. Ruca especially is very fun to watch.

I'm actually hoping Waller takes the belt and Melo moves on. Melo feels leagues above NXT at this point and Waller could do without another loss for the main one (He should have beaten Bron previously). It's a shame not many people watch NXT anymore, because it does have some really good moments and seems to have turned a corner over recent months.

  2. Cody Rhodes mentioning the rubber chicken was 100% the right call and was quite weird to here it mentioned instead of just ignored as would usually happen. Dropping the name 'Matt' makes me wonder if Cardona will end up involved at some point. Cody is the man though, he really is and if they end up pulling the story off after blue balling us all at 'Mania, they should give HHH the keys to the kingdom.

One thing I thought during the excellent Alpha Academy / Uso's match, was I would love Otis to stay with Chad and bring in the Creed Brothers, or alternatively, Chad drops Otis for the Creeds (I like Chad and Otis though). Chad is brilliant.

Great to see Bayley back, now people can calm down with the whole backlash that seems to have been happening the last week that she was leaving and going to AEW.

I don’t mind chucking a celebrity or two into the mix

If we get Bill Roache reciting lines as Ken Barlow with RJ City's Diedre, it will be the greatest show in history.

  4. I'm at a dilemma of how to transport my PS5 when I go on a plane. I was going to bubble wrap it and put it in my suitcase, but I'm worried about whether the case goes missing, if I'd be covered under insurance etc. The other option is to take it in hand luggage and buy a backpack for it, but it's bloody heavy.

Has anyone got any experience with taking a console on a plane or any recommendations for backpacks or carry cases?

  5. What about watching a company through nafarious means? Never putting a penny into their coffers or views on their stuff?

I get what Loki was saying and I'm someone who tries my hardest to learn, grow and move with the times and call out abhorrent behaviour where I see it.

It's clearly not a black and white thing and is pretty much as Keith said, wherever your draw your personal line. One person may never watch WWE again, another may protest by never putting money into their pockets, but may still enjoy the overall product and others may just not care at all. As mentioned, do you go with levels, such as Vince being a CEO, but it's you can give a pass to a Matt Riddle or a Jay Lethal etc? (Two names off the top of my head, not company specific). It all comes down to your personal line and everyone's will be different.

I don't think anyone can tell another person whether they can or can't enjoy a product, but you can try to educate, which is something this forum does fantastically, I might add.

  6. So, is this going to be a farewell speech? Or a case of being a 'I booked Raw all by myself, it was me, I swear it was, Vince wasn't even there'.

I did have to chuckle that Fire Vince and variations of such have been trending on Twitter all week and its all been about the creative, not actually that hes a full blown monster.

  7. Now FTR are actually staying in AEW, can we be done with the fucking stories of 'x wrestler is pissed off on Twitter / Podcast, teases leaving, only to swerve and stay'. Leave it alone for a while now.

In other news, I am ecstatic that FTR are staying in AEW. I had absolutely no time whatsoever for them as The Revival, but (Despite the twitter bollocks) they are genuinely one of my favourite tag teams around now.

If we are getting a UK PPV, please give us some vignettes of the BCC having a day out in Blackpool. Few ales in The Flagship, 2p machines, donkeys, the works, but just being absolutely miserable throughout it all.....pretty much like an actual day out in Blackpool.

  8. Free tickets to Fulham Season Ticket holders then just count those tickets as sold tickets. Football clubs have been counting season ticket holders in their attendance figures whether they are in attendance or not, since the dawn of time. Tony isn't daft, he knows how to play the game and seems like quite the savvy guy in terms of statistics.

  9. I saw Dax was holding a sign up after they went off air that said 'Vince Fears Tony', nice way of trying to creep back into the bosses good books now Vince is back.

The Gunns looked like superstars with that entrance, fantastic stuff.

This bodes well for Drew coming in. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a World Title shot. Tyson Fury banned from the building. No karaoke allowed.

I can see Drew getting the bag from Vince now, wasn't he one of his boys? Imagine though, Drew could potentially main event the first UK show in donkeys for both major companies within a year of each other. Thats crazy to think about.

  11. What is the likelihood of this being a sell out? Is there a reason WWE hasn't run Wembley Stadium? Fair fucks to Tony for shooting for the moon, why not? Sure it'll be a cracking show, shame I won't be around as I'd have probably been up for this one.

Wasn't Big Shad trying to buy Wembley a few years ago?

    - How he carries himself: Some will tease him and say he's a bit corny and carny at times, but I think people really resonate with him and how he's come across in all of his media appearances, whether its WWE in-house shite like The Bump, or when he's doing the media rounds with Ryan Satin and the like, or something like Sheamus' YouTube output - he always comes across as relatively genuine and quite authentic. You don't always get the impression you're watching a character piece for instance - you feel like you're getting something from Cody Runnels the chap rather than Cody Rhodes the character. He's also, I think, indirectly responsible for WWE copying AEW's style of doing the media scrums - he does them brilliantly and effortlessly. I think in this modern era where every cunt under the sun has a podcast, a YouTube channel or some form of content to push, he's such a good guest for all of that. That resonates with audiences. See exhibit B and C, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

I think this is an excellent point and reminds me of the first time I heard an interview with Cody outside of a wrestling show. It was on Edge and Christians podcast and I was surprised at how much I came away from the interview thinking how much of a down to earth, nice guy Cody is. He speaks as though he is just a guy living his dream (no pun intended) and has a genuine fire about him.

Finished another run through of This Country and still one of the best comedies ever.

Funniest moments this time: Both from the same episode (series 3 when Kurtan has driving lessons)

Firstly his incredulity when told about June's garden opening to the public "I BEG your pardon?" and when they ask Mandy whats in the plastic bag she's holding. "Just a brick in a pillowcase" I'm laughing again just thinking of it. She's an amazing character, as they all are.

This Country is quite possibly one of my favourite shows ever, just from the sheer subtlety to the dialogue. Its often moments such as the above that make me laugh the most, my favourite being Len shrugging his shoulder when Kerry is trying to sell him the juice stuff and a close second is Kurtan saying to Martin when they're about to fight 'Come on then, Charlie large potatoes'.

It's a shame that Daisy May Cooper has become quite unlikable outside of sitcoms (Nevermind the Buzzcocks, I'm looking at you), because shes absolutely fantastic in this and the Witchfinder.

It's a metaphor, so it doesn't matter where it originates.

This. It's not that deep at all. Just like 'Jumping the Shark' doesn't actually mean jumping over a shark.

Here's the thing though, if you don't stick the landing you don't win so it is all for nothing. Gymnastics, ski jumping, and any other sport you care to mention that involves having to land then if you don't land then you have fucked it. They've fucked it.

It's not a 'real' sport though, it's a TV show, on episodic TV. There are countless TV shows that had several very good series' before failing with the finale or final season. It doesn't make the good episodes any less so, but it does sour the story. My point wasn't that the story hasn't been soured, it's that they did a great job in building Cody up to the point that it was an absolute no brainer that he took the top prize in the company.

  16. Cody never had an AEW Stink, if anything, in AEW, Cody had a WWE stink. He stood out as a 'Superstar' in a sea full of wrestlers. He was tailor made for WWE, the suits, the talking in verses, the catchphrases and buzzwords, the man is a walking cliché of what WWE want from their top guy. It's just a shame that he didn't get his crowning moment.

Just because they didn't stick the landing, it can't be said they didn't do a fantastic job of getting him there.

The 'stink' stuff is all bollocks anyway and is made up from the tribalistic folk that still think there is this war between two TV shows on two different nights of the week. Enjoy it, it's wrestling for bloody hells sake and contrary to popular opinion, you can pick and choose certain bits you like from whichever show on whichever day of the week you like.

  17. The Mrs and I started watching Ghosts last night. We watched two episodes last night and two tonight. I thought the first two episodes were alright, if nothing special, but I've just laughed my head off throughout the whole of the 'Free Pass' episode. I can see it getting better as the episodes go on, it's great fun so far.
