  1. Just watched the Wrestling Road Diaries Too. I thought it was great and much better than the first. Compton and Gallows were excellent throughout. I'm always 50/50 about Cabana but he came across as a top blonde on this documentary he compares himself to Robbie Brookside in the end.

Throughout the documentary Gallows is nursing a torn groin which looks dreadful. The documentary shows an accuate account of how wrestlers deal with injuries and takes you to places you don't think of as a fan of the business.

I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it much more than the first.

  2. Just seen Soil are playing in Chester which is tempting. Nice to see the Live Rooms Venue get a few bands recently.

Live Rooms in Chester are also teasing another announcement on Monday.

  3. Mick Foley ✔ @realmickfoley

    Follow

I hope @WWE treads VERY carefully with this @WWEDanielBryan situation.Feels eerily similar to the story that derailed @ZackRyder's career.

    Eurgh..

  4. The Family - Tried watching this as it's been one I've wanted to watch for a while. However I was very disappointed. What a heap of shit this was. I will usually defend Robert De Niro till I'm blue in the face but this was something else.. I ended up half way through and ended up turning it off. Couldn't really get my head around if this was a serious film or a comedy? Or both done very badly. I know in 2014 I'm not expecting a masterpiece but something better than the 40 minutes of shit I sat through. Absolutely horrendous.

  5. Been watching WWF from 2000. I've just got past KOTR from that year and Foley has been introduced as Commissioner. I know this wasn't a bad period for him and he was pretty entertaining. The problem I have is the reputation of him being a whiney bastards in recent years makes me not want to watch these segments he's involved in.. which are actually a large chunk of the shows.

  6. I agree with the softcore it is better.

I remember recording many documentaries on BBC2 and Channel 4 about porn which were watched more than I can remember back in the day. Men and Motors was a glorious thing, I remember having some sort of box where you could get the channel for free on it in around 2001 and I'd record something like Ultimate Warriors downstairs on VHS put the tape on long play and there would be plenty of softcore on afterwards. Goodtimes.

Edit - On Digital? It may have been called that.

  7. Kevin Sullivan has a shoot interview out where he's questioned by Steve Corino. Great stuff. Corino is an excellent interviewer. Knows the right questions to ask and knows when it interject his own opinion. And Sully is just great. Nothing mind blowing (pretty much the same stuff as usual), but he's great to listen to.

Two things we learn. He used to go shopping in his satanic robe and police used to stop him just to see if it was him. Just imagining him in Sainsburys in his devil gimmick is quite the thought. Also, he said a friend of his in the wrestling business died last year and Triple H phoned him to see if he was alright and how he was coping. Good on him.

I've always found Sullivan one of the most interesting blokes to watch on a Shoot Interview. The only bad one was the Face Off he did with Raven and Jake. Sullivan ends up sleeping through the majority of it as he's pissed as a skunk. He occasionally wakes up and slurs on about Jake being the greatest he's ever seen. Over and over again.

There's another interesting Face Off with New Jack, Honky Tonk Man and The Iron Sheik. What a dream team! There's vodka, knifes, balls and arses out for this one. It ends up getting cancelled half way through due to them getting kicked out of the hotel. Great stuff.

  8. 1999-2000 Kurt Angle is such a good character. One of my favourites. It's easy to forget how good this man can with so many years of him floating about TNA and nearly killing himself. But Angle is amazing.

Can't find the example I was looking for (It was the post KOTR 2000 RAW where Angle is backstage with some common bloke deciding what to call himself)

    Here's one. Excellent

  9. Really good RAW. I've said it a while but Cesaro is the man and built like a brick shithouse. Nice to see so many opinions change on here about him.

I love the idea of this Orton/Batista/Triple H/Kane combination. However I'm still not sold on Bryan as champion and still am surprised Triple H put him over and then he made Batista tap. I wonder if he gets a Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio reign with the title where he's booked like an absolute shit arse for the next few months. I wish Big Dave won the title. So much.

  10. Really get annoyed when Cesaro does the swing and the crowd count along. They just count, not along with the swings at all. Usually by the time they've counted to 6 he has barely done 3 swings.

Sort of on the same subject.

I was watching an episode of SmackDown from 2000 today and completely forgot that Albert used to do the win swing in the match. It didn't look half as good as Cesaro though.

  11. My train gets in at ten to 5, I might stick my head round the door at the Wellington and harass you before show time. I've actually stumped for front row for once, because my Devitt worship knows no limitations.

Front row is great. I was front row for last years Springslam and Final Fight. I even had Tommy Dreamer and T-Bone prop themselves up on my knees. Abit awkward..

I've got to miss tonights show sadly as I've got a placement with work which needs to end within the next few weeks and taking tonight off will only delay that. I am however going to attend Springslam which I'm really looking forward to.

Edit: Just realized Springslam is in 4 weeks. Lovely!

  12. I'm not a huge Bryan fan. So seeing the main focus of the product being regarding Bryan isn't something I'm enjoying. It also doesn't help that the Authority Storyline has gone on for far too long and it's been pretty dull/shit for the most part. However I thought Triple H was fantastic this week on RAW and came across as a right prick. On the other hand I thought Bryan was just not good enough. I just don't see much in him and the way he has booked over the past few months hasn't helped him for me. He just doesn't come across as a bloke who's desperate to prove himself, have a fair shot and is pissed off about the way he's been treated. It's just like here I am, I'm a good wrestler and a nice guy. It's very biased this, as I'm not a big Bryan fan.

On another note WOAH! Bray Wyatt's promo was excellent. He just comes across really unique, dark and mysterious. Every promo is different and is like nothing you've ever seen before.

  13. Went to both Nights and saw some top notch wrestling. Night 2 ended up being the better night which held some superb wrestling for the fans in Preston. I loved the Ciampo Vs Kirby match which was probably the match of the weekend for me. The angle with Maria/Bennett and Manson/Hope was really good. Never typically been a fan of this sort of comedy but it was hilarious and great fun. Hero/Masters was really unique to be able to see.

Great show overall probably the best PCW shows I've been to. All of the imports delivered and looked like they wanted to be there. 9/10 for the weekend. My thoughts go out to Lionheart.

Nice to share a drink with a few of you from here over the weekend.

  14. Decent episode, Christ Christian is boring though, not even his fault really but when his music hit I unwittingly picked up the Sky remote and pressed fast forward, poor bloke is just stale as fuck

Liked Dean Ambrose's outfit when he ran out during the Reigns/Wyatt match, looked like he was about to shove someones head through the barbershop window

I had the same problem. I was enjoying RAW live and as soon as Christian/Sheamus came on I fell asleep straight away. I think Sheamus is tremendous in the ring but Christian is horrendous at the moment.

  15. I agree with Pictos. Edge was fantastic.

Edge and Christian are probably my favorite tag team ever, just pure entertainment. It did take a while for Edge to find his legs (or Chicken legs if you like) as a solo star, but when he turned heel in 2004 he was excellent. Just terrific at drawing heat, even Cena got cheered against him, when the morons were at their peak of Cena hatred. His feud with Cena is his career highlight, but I also enjoyed his feuds with Taker and Jeff Hardy.

The match with Foley I always found a bit overrated, but that TLC match with Cena in 2006, the cage match with Matt Hardy in 2005 (I think), and the Mania main event with Taker are top draw. Edge was usually one of the best things on the show from 2005-2009.

Bit off the topic, I am not a regular viewer these days, but is Christian not meant to be dire these days?

Have you seen the match Edge had with Taker at Summerslam 2008? It's bloody brilliant. Probably my favourite HIAC match.

  16. I don't know what happened this week but that was a poor show. It's frustrating seeing Sheamus back doing absolutely fuck all again. He's got back into the habit of trading wins with the ever so dull midcard. It's a Tuesday evening, I can't be arsed with a 40 minute Bryan Vs Orton match either. There was alot of shit on Raw this week including Zack Ryder, R-Truth, Curtis Axel, Christian, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and The Brodus Clay Girls. Which was the majority of the roster who appeared on the show.

On a plus note I did enjoy the confrontation between Batista and Del Rio even if it was short. Also Orton held himself really well in the opening segment. I also hoped Ryback 3:16 would do something worthy of note but I was bitterly disappointed.

  17. I'm not saying you deleted the post as its clear that other bloke did it.

I'm sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick. From reading it I got the impression you were abit fed up of fans on the page being overly critical especially with the Vader situation as you mentioned part of the reason Vader still wrestles is to help his mothers treatment (which is a very sad circumstance) and it demotivates you seeing comments like there's after the effort you put into shows. I'm not licking arse either but you do put a great effort into each and every show which keeps coming to Preston over and over again.

If this is the wrong end of the stick then I apologize.

I thought it was cool you got Vader for a second time. I wasn't able to attend Festive Fury and am hoping to attend Springslam and see him.
