  1. We're talking a few minutes of difference, and it's down to seconds being shaved off here and their to speed up the flow a bit.

Alien and Aliens double bill. In a cinema. Proper big screen. No casual tapping away on your laptop or snapchatting whilst you watch it. Get in there.

Which cinema is this, by the way?

    Vue cinema. Both director's cuts.

  2.

Did I make a mistake watching the 2003 director's cut instead of the 1979 theatrical version?

Probably not, considering your thoughts on it. Even though it's got some scenes reinserted, it has a shorter running time as it's been re-edited a bit snappier for modern audience tastes.

If you ever get the chance, go to a proper cinema showing of it.

There's an Alien & Aliens double bill at one of the local cinemas on halloween. I'm tempted. I may actually prefer the 1979 original if it's longer.

  3. I just watched Alien for the first time since I was a wee boy. So basically this was technically the first time I have consciously watched it.

I thought it was alright. There wasn't as much horror or action as I was expecting. Maybe my expectations have been tainted by the Alien game on the PS1. However the two hours did fly by. Hated the lass that was blubbering throughout the movie. I hope she was blubbering because she realised it was her fault for being such a sentimental bitch.

Can I ask a couple of questions? Did I make a mistake watching the 2003 director's cut instead of the 1979 theatrical version? Also, what's with the audio sync in regards to the scene when Ripley is in the engine room with the two engineers? There was some serious weird out of sync audio and it kinda sounded like the audio was cut up and filled in and things.

Time to get Aliens (I know I've never seen that) watched and then get the new game.

  4.

Seems WWE are planning on launching the Network in the UK next year as a traditional cable channel on either BT or Virgin Media as Sky have turned it down.

Someone on another forum has stated the above. Anyone on here got any potential info on this or do you think it's complete shite?

  5. I've finally complete the story missions and got to level 20. I have a feeling it's going to be a chore as I level up doing patrol missions and strikes.

Played a little Forza Horizon 2. Oh my it's sexy. And that soundtrack...

  6.

Obviously some of those posts are racist and unacceptable.  But to play devil's advocate here, is there not an argument to say that because we are in the EU we have lost control of our borders and as such we end up letting in even convicted murderers such as the suspect here?

Personally I think the freedom of movement is fantastic and isolated tragedies like this shouldn't impact on it.

I'm just aghast at the amount of Eastern European's selling Big Issues on the street in Glasgow. It's mental. They've came over to sell the Big bloody Issue? I wonder what happened to all the Scottish ones.

  7. Was watching part of the Bischoff shoot last night and the guy asking the questions asked this or to the effect.

"Is it true you bought new leather jackets for each Nitro taping because they were too much of a hassle to travel with."

    Wow.

  8. Yo,

Sorry if this should be in the classifieds section but I'll put this in here because I think there may be more interest from this thread. Feel free to delete this post if need be.

  9. Remember the AB X box set? Well it has indeed shipped. People have started to received the box sets. The box set is full of recycled footage. Not just some things that have been released before, but there are at least two discs of "unseen, never released content" that have a lot of footage shared on the productions.

Not to add that people have had pages missing from the coffee table books, their products physically damaged due to inadequate packaging. These have been shipped in just a thin cardboard case. Also another couple of minor things like photographers names being misspelled in the credits, etc.

I've yet to receive my box set, but it doesn't look likely that this saga will finish any time soon.

  10. It was all about this for me as a nipper:

I still have that at home somewhere. I believe it only had Wolfpac theme music that would play. Absolutely mental when I used to have Booker T come out to the Wolfpac theme then Kevin Nash would come out to the same music and they'd face off.

  11. Should be in shows>>>in-ring>>>Raw Replay

Sorry, I meant the "Classic Raw" shows. I can only find the current shows up there.

EDIT: Nope, you're right. I just needed to go to the select year function instead of scrolling through.

  12.

Sorry for my rambling. I'll be surprised if you can make any sense of it.  But this has been a 9 month long saga and his customer services has been shocking! That's not all the gripes either!

Sounds like it's being run by Dumb and Messy of Alt-Farce fame lol.. Seemingly not the year for us alternative types..

You knew it was going to be a shambles when DCIII put up a countdown on the AB X website for pre-order details which then counted down to nothing due to him not having the rights yet...  :bored:

  13. Alter Bridge have announced their delayed 10th anniversary boxset is ready to ship.

The delayed Alter Bridge X package – originally scheduled for a spring release – is finally complete and orders are being sent out, according to a video released by the band.

Alter Bridge took pre-orders on the limited edition package, which includes personalised engraving, a coffee table book, 16 DVDs or Blu-rays, seven CDs and four vinyl records.

The set was limited to 3000 worldwide and there are still some available via the band's website.

Alter Bridge hit the road with a 13-date US tour starting on October 4.

hell of a set, fair play. Bet it'll cost a few quid though.

This set has been a complete farce. It was supposed to ship on 6th January. Yep, 9 months ago!

They've chopped and changed the contents on the box since then. This also has minimal input for the band and is a project that a company called "DC3 / The City Drive Enterainment" bought the rights to.

Dan Catullo (MD of said company) has been a complete pain in the arse. Not keeping people updated. Flat out lying and bitching and moaning about people wanting information regarding a set they've paid £170 for and not received 9 months after initial release date.

He promised that the Live In Wembley 3D concert would be in there. They took it out to make way for other "content". People weren't happy about that so they said they would ship the Wembley 3D concert "free of charge" to people who have the box set. It's now been revealed by an ex employee that it looks as if this will never be released.

3D Wembley will never see the light of day. Most of the 3D stereography isn't done, and it will cost $75,000 at a minimum just to finish the film, let alone the cost of authoring the 3D blurays. It's just not going to ever happen. Has nothing to do with a distributor.

Say's it all when you have band members annoyed by the whole process. I'd advise everyone to give it a miss. I'd hate for DC3 to get any sum of money from this project and I hope AB management never do business with this company again.

Oh this is also the same company that gave out a release date for the Live In Milan DVD, the release date come and went. People enquired, he then said that the release date was about it being shown on TV and that there would be a 6 month exclusivity deal with the TV company before it was released on DVD/Blu Ray.

Nothing has come of that either. He blames it on the band not approving the sound. The same reason he's trying to give for the Wembley 3D delay.

Sorry for my rambling. I'll be surprised if you can make any sense of it.  But this has been a 9 month long saga and his customer services has been shocking! That's not all the gripes either!

  14. I've just finished working on an Alien video game, so I'm absolutely sick and tired of all things Alien.  Which is a pity, as I think the first 3 are all really good. Yes, I like Alien 3.  But I don't think I'll be able to touch the franchise again for some years, sadly.

On the upside, I got to work with some of the original cast, albeit via satellite.  And I met Lieutenant Gorman, who was indeed an asshole.

Would that be Alien: Isolation? I have that on pre-order for xbone. Sounds like it will be good.
