So that CM Punk eh?Â

Punk is going to quit at some point so let's just get on with it and agree to terms now. No point dragging this out any further.Â
If they sort it out now, he can make himself free and clear to win the rumble.Â
That is not a serious suggestion of course, but once things with AEW inevitably break down, I do wonder if he'd go back for a proper short term, Goldberg-like schedule in WWE and the HOF induction if they could come to terms. Which is naturally an enormous, possibly insurmountable "if".Â

Presumably everyone saying that Emi Sakura didn't deserve to be on the show because she's not done enough on weekly TV can point out all the amazing Dynamite highlights involving Roy Knight.
The silly thing is, it would have been very simple to just have her in Shida's corner, she was her trainer right? Wouldn't have even required much storytelling or TV time to find a way to involve her in some capacity.

Maybe he simply wanted to get the tube.Â

That's not the worst swansong for his AEW run if he leaves on the high of wrestling one of his longtime rivals at Wembley Stadium. He's also finished up his most recent storyline (Ricky Starks stuff asides) so an easy-ish time to write him off TV.
Obviously there's loads of money left on the table if he was to quit (I don't think he actually will, I suspect it's just him having a flounce).Â

I'm on the Isle of Wight on holiday, and as a treat before we go home tomorrow we got a lunchtime chippy tea from Wights in Ryde. Lads, it was a near religious experience. Fish was light, battered sausage was crispy, but not rock hard, chips were tremendous, curry sauce and mushy peas absolutely perfect.Â

Fuck that's sad. RIP.
One of the best to ever do it, and seemed like a great person too. Best working punch of all time.Â
Forever.Â

Surely the last thing Jericho wants before a match where he has to keep up with Will Ospreay is to blow himself up quote-unquote "singing"?
Depends whether keeping up with Ospreay or being able to say he "played Wembley" is a bigger kicker for his ego.Â

It's funny, I think if this was at the O2, or a massive arena I don't think any is quibbling about the card. Because they've taken such a big swing and they've booked the biggest venue possible, perhaps it feels strange that the card doesn't have all the red-hot huge matches/big first time encounters/huge feud enders that you might hope for.Â
I wonder if TK had hoped when he booked it that the Elite/Punk thing would have resolved itself by now and they could have done some sort of programme with them here. If not, it seems such a weird move to book a WrestleMania sized venue without having a concrete plan, even if the demand clearly exists.Â
Regardless, I think it'll be a good show, the in-ring is rarely the issue for AEW, but objectively it feels bonkers to me that the "biggest wrestling event in history" is being headlined by MJF vs Adam Cole. 2023 is weird. Â

Hey now, one day the prophecy will be realised I'm sure.Â

Maybe it'll go really well and change peoples minds. Depends on the execution really.Â

On the Jack Perry thing, imagine not listening to Tony Schiavone when he tells you something is stupid. The man had the best seat in the house for all of the litany of stupid things WCW attempted. If he tells you something is a bad idea in wrestling, listen because he knows!
Equally, imagine thinking if he didn't listen to Tony, somehow Punk stepping in would be a better call.Â

I'm suprised The Elite didn't all jump ship to WWE.Â
Playing the long game. I think everyone can see Punk likely won't still be in AEW in a year to 18 months for one reason or another. Just have to wait out his eventual meltdown/self destruction.Â

It's a shame our next match is away at City and we'll probably lose it. I say 'probably' because Eddie Howe's might Mags are looking real good and might just come away with something at the Etihad.Â
I suppose it depends on if everyone keeps their heads really.Â

It's done.
He'll be back at Spurs for a second run/swansong in a couple of years after he's won some stuff at Bayern I reckon.Â

I think the most hilarious thing of this whole saga is that people now seem to be reporting that despite all summer angling for the move and desperately wanting to go... Spurs have accepted the bid and Kane is now saying "nah mate, not interested". I don't really get it but it's perhaps the funniest part of the whole saga. I hope your heart is holding together Bacon, sure it's going to be a rollercoaster of a few days now!
It's actually all an elaborate prank on Daniel Levy as part of the return of Rio Ferdinand's Merk'd.Â

What, after winning a treble? Wouldn't have thought so.
I don't think the Tiger Cup, Golden Boot and Best Beard (Manager edition) are going to be enough to keep him.Â

Who knows, maybe they end up doing the "Lights Out" gimmick so that it goes on after MJF/Cole anyway, or maybe whatever happens in a Punk/Omega match feeds into the post-match angle for MJF/Cole. There's always something.Â

I knew that "The Misfits" was Marilyn Monroe's last (completed) film, but I didn't realise that is was also Clark Gable's until today.
I know there's a strike on, but digging up Clark Gable seems a very extreme move.Â

So you're saying you are having a Vietnam flashback?

I, for one, would never have suspected that a man who lives exclusively on a boat to avoid tax could possibly have been up to anything dodgy.Â
