Maybe it's been going on for weeks and I've just not noticed before, but I can't decide whether Rene Young is taking the piss with her commentary or not. I know the WWE announcers always sound completely inauthentic, like their soul is dying live on air, but this was the first week where it honestly felt like Rene was being extra fake and shit on purpose.

Never heard her on commentary before but she was crap tonight. She just doesnt bring anything to the team apart from the fact she's a pretty woman. The whole announce team infact has no soul.

  2. Watched Raw after a very long time. All I have to say was the crowd was dead all night and only came alive (just about) for Stone Cold. Stone Cold truly is a proper wrestling megastar. Seeing Hulk and Austin in the ring together is a special sight.

The whole show itself was a waste of time so I understand that dead crowd. They had Nash and Hall there but they end up doing the same boring shit everytime. Crazy how they get portrayed on shows now when back in the day they ruled it when business was red hot. Just a waste of their time, our time, everyones time.

  3. I haven't seen Double or Nothing just watched the pre-show and from reading the comments here and on twitter they did what they set to do. They were never going to become the number 1 company after 1 show, they're meant to be an alternative to the WWE. It's their 1st show so mistakes are bound to be made in production. I actually like abit of chaos and fuck ups as it feels abit more raw and that anything can happen unlike in WWE where everything seems too polished and planned. Visually the production looked great and not some indy show.

  4. Ryback is the only wrestler i've seen publicy speak about this on twitter. This is what he said,

"They have gotten away with murder forever. Reading that pained me because I know she is telling the truth. Life isn’t fair we all have to accept this, but how @wwe treats humans isn’t something we should just accept."

  5. That's so heart breaking. I feel terrible for Ashley, her daughter and family.

News sites are all quick to report how she died but have yet to mention anything about her time in kuwait and how WWE treated the situation. It's been all over twitter the last few days what the fuck is wrong with them?

@Chris B what about looping in some of the more vocal #metoo advocates on Twitter?  If this is anything, it's part of that movement.

It's true. If the wresters themselves or the wrestling journalist dont want to say a word then maybe this should be reached out to actual humans who would say something

  7. This is picking up on twitter and reddit. It really needs to get picked up by mainstream news. Ashley isnt here but she deserves justice. I really hope WWE get what they deserve for all those individuals who have suffered becuase of them it's about time

Sorry to harp on about this, but does anyone else feel really shit about this? Like you've just wanked over a snuff film? This company is fucking horrible.

Someone with more than 3 people following them has tweeted about it thankfully. Still getting ignored by most, though.

You're not the only one. I've felt really upset about the whole thing since it has been brought to my attention. Ashley's story with WWE needs to be heard. I really hope this gets picked up by many major press outlets.

  9. That truly is so sad. WWE is an evil company and should be brought down. Seriously this treatment to there workers has to be put out there.

I was never the biggest Ashley Massaro fan but I feel so sorry for her with what she went through. She would have been so much better off never doing the Diva Search. I've always known Stephanie McMahon was a bitch but she really is a fucking vile cunt. You can see the evil in her when she "smiles". Just straight up bad person. And as far as Vince goes, he is someone i've always liked and his voice feels like hes part of my family as its been in my household since 1990 but now he can go fuck himself the fucking evil bastard.

Karma will get these people for all the bad they have done to the men and women and I hope it happens soon.

It's shit like this that deserves that #cancelwwenetwork trend on twitter and with people actually cancelling. But wrestling fans think its a bigger travesty for someone not being in a Royal Rumble than someone being raped.

I feel so sad for Ashley. And makes her death so much more heartbreaking.

Not sure if its common knowledge of not, but how do the financials of events like this work? Do the wrestlers get a retainer and then pocket the autograph/photo money, or do they get paid a flat fee and the organisers retain the money?

Was wondering what was the case all day tbh.

Depends on the deal, if they get a flat fee then the promoter takes the money made, sometimes they would do a split or sometimes the promoter flies them in and takes the entry gate and lets the wrestlers keep the money. Just depends on who you are.

That's a shame to hear that. I only thought after Ric put the photo on Twitter of him, Nash, Hall, DiBiase and Wendy over the weekend how good he looked but appreciate that photos do not always tell the full story.

In all honesty, he has done so well to get back on track after the big health scare back in 2017.

I was there and Flair was in a great mood, he's a 70 year old man with health issues last year so is a little slower but weight and health wise he was looking much better.

While the backstage angle was hilarious, it still didn't make me laugh as much as Finn's 'transformation'. Fuck me, they never ever do this stuff right and it's always cringeworthy as fuck, but I was laughing for ages. Christ.

All that was missing was the Stars in their Eyes music

After hearing about it on this week's episode of Something to Wrestle with, I went and watched Raw from early 1999 where The Undertaker sacrifices Mideon. He's cutting his wrists and all sorts. Was all of this stuff cut out of the UK feed at the time? I had no recollection whatsoever.

Yes it was cut from the Sky broadcast in 1999

  13. The night "The Old" Stone Cold came back and beat the shit out of The Alliance.

The build up was great all night with Austin sitting at The Freindly Tap bar all night. And when Austin drove up in the middle of the brawl outside was brilliant. And the crowd was so pumped up to hear the glass break and when Austin came throught the curtain to whip some ass the place went nuts! Great TV
