  1. I think TNA will move heaven and earth to re-sign Hogan but I do think Hogan would do better signing with WWE especially with WM30 round the corner.

Surely he'll be offered a mega WWE legends contract or something giving him his $1m per annum salary he wants (does he want more?) and he can pop up at major ppvs, Raws, do some promo work for WWE, video games, dvds etc keeping him in the spotlight he so desperatley craves.

  2. Hopefully Godzuki will make an appearance in this film.

(there was a great childhood cartoon that I don't think ever got brought up in any of the nostalgia threads we've had... "Up from the depths, 30 storeys high!")

Probably second only to Uni from the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon in the most annoying 80's cartoon sidekick category. (Snarf's the other one)

  3. I know this is a bit far fetched but how much influence does Hogan & Bischoff have with Spike TV? If I was Dixie I'd be concerned if Sleazy E was woo-ing the tv execs there maybe hinting at purchasing TNA from the Carters etc and handing it to Eric. OR dropping TNA and starting a new company with Eric.

After all it's all about being on TV first and foremost isn't it and building from there?

Maybe Hogan does actually want to kill Carter TNA...

  4. Does anyone detect a Cena VS Orton main event at Mania? Orton VS Bryan over the next few months, then perhaps Bryan VS HHH finally happens at Mania (if they can stretch it out that long). Cena returns in time for Mania, where he challenges the Corporation's jewel Orton. Bit Mania 15ish about it.

Cena vs Orton is not WM30 main event worthy in my opinion. WM30 will however end with Cena's arms being raised against god knows who. No way will it end on Bryan lifting the title.

I can see the undercard being Bryan vs Triple H for the WWE Title, Brock vs Rock and the main event Cena vs Undertaker or maybe Austin or Punk thrown in there somewhere I don't know - although I'm not sure sure Vince would want two massive marquee matches on the same ppv when either match could headline it's own WM.

  5. How long have Sony and Fox got Spiderman and X-Men, respectively, to contracts, does anybody?Daredevil is back with Marvel now, isn't he?

I'd love to see a Punisher tv show. If they can make one on the Green Arrow, surely they can do one on the Punisher.

They should have a bird superhero called The Polisher. Have her polish copious amounts of blokes' crowns/helmets and use their jip as fuel for shooting flames out her mouth or something.

I think the contract itself is a bit tricky, I remember reading somewhere that Sony & Fox have to make a Spiderman or X Men movie within a specific time frame - 5 years I believe - if the 5 years is up then the movie rights would return to Marvel.

I think Spiderman was only days away from returning to Marvel before Sony announced Amazing Spiderman.

The problem here is that will Marvel ever the get the movie rights back fully and if so when?

  6. I've heard a, hopefully bollocks, rumour today the Robert Downey Jr won't be playing Iron Man in Avengers 2. Can anyone quash this quickly, please?

I'd say that's bollocks - his contract has probably expired as he was signed to do 3 Iron Man movies and The Avengers, he's probably trying to get as much $$$ as possible from Marvel beofre he signs a new contract that's probably sitting in front of him.

He'll definitely stick around for Avengers 2 and Phase 3 - he earnt $50m just from The Avengers he revealed a few days ago.

  7. Had to watch This is 40 over the weekend and it was terrible - far too much improv which yielded some very awkward laughs or hardly any most times.

A movie filled with weird characters who do nothing to enhance the movie and are just 'there' spouting their lame ass shitty improv with zero filter.

None of the characters are likeable, Apatows two daughters can't act for shit and are annoying.

His missus is throughly detestable as always and they've taken down poor Paul Rudd with them as well.

I loved Knocked Up, 40 Yr Old Virgin & Sarah Marshall but this was rank beyond belief and the 2 and half hour running time is ludicrous.

Only redeeming bit is Megan Fox playing slutty hoe bag perfectly. 3/10.

  8. I watched Chinatown last night for the first time. A fucking brilliant film with one of the most insane shocking out of nowhere but brilliant endings ever. I'm not sure if I really rate Jack Nicholson as an actor too well, even when playing a role that's pretty straight he still comes across as a slightly unhinged crazy guy just because it's Jack Nicholson and he looks evil and insane all the time.

    AMAZING film.

Funnily enough I just ordered the blu ray from Amazon for

  9. Hugh Laurie ("House M.D.") is in negotiations to play the villain in MGM and Sony's RoboCop, reports Heat Vision.

Laurie will be joining a cast that includes Joel Kinnaman ("The Killing"), Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson. Kinnaman will play a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer. Oldman will play his scientist-creator and Jackson will portray a media mogul.

According to the trade, Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes RoboCop.

    Great cast at least.

  10. Finally got round to watching The Man from Nowhere - Korea's highest grossing movie in 2010 apparently.

Those who've watched City of Violence, A Bittersweet Life or Leon will enjoy this.

Very brutal and gory but the story and the acting of the (super cool) lead carries this through to the end in a very satisfying way. 2hrs just flew by.

Also big shout out for The Raid - even my 'romantic comedy loving' girlfriend loved it. The gun play was outstanding and the hand to hand action scenes were the best I've seen since Tony Jaa's Tom Yung Goong/Warrior King.

  11. Haywire with that MMA bird and a great (under used) cast.

Found it completely up it's own arse with music lifted from the Ocean's 11 movies to completely confuse the audience into what the hell it was - ie: a snarky self-congratulatory thriller or a tough serious indie style movie.

Some reviews have mentioned the art house style direction and the shades of lighting to signify emotions of the characters etc but I thought it was shite.

For the first time since I watched Knowing I left the cinema feeling ripped off.
