In fact the Adrenaline Championship is very much FutureShock's TV title these days. You can see pretty much every defense from the last twelve months for free on the Youtube Channel, starting with James Drake v Jack Gallagher. Soner's exceptional bouts with Rockstar Spud and Bubblegum will be added in the coming weeks too. Xander Cooper's reign late last year produced some gems as well opposite the likes of Dursun, Sam Bailey and Pastor William Eaver.

Here's what went down...

 

FutureShock Uproar 95 – Lotto Thunder Returns

 

FutureShock Wrestling brought the most unpredictable tournament in professional wrestling back to Stockport's Masonic Guildhall. Lotto Thunder takes eight of the very best and puts them in matches chosen by the FutureShock Faithful. Nobody knows what the brackets will be... Not the fans, not wrestlers, not management... Nobody.

The prize up for grabs at Uproar 95 was a title opportunity of the winner's choice, either the FutureShock Championship held by Zack Gibson or the FutureShock Adrenaline Championship held by Soner Dursun.

Sam Bailey and the debuting Kenny Williams were chosen to square off in the first quarter final. Bailey was clearly out to have a good time, hoping to turn his recent fortunes around by snagging a title match. In fact he was too busy having fun and entertaining the FutureShock Faithful to see Williams' match winning running knee strike after less than three minutes. A shock elimination to many.

In the second quarter final a ringside fan selected the 400lb monster Cyanide who subsequently found himself in the ring with Delicious Danny Hope. A spirited fight by the man from tasseltown wasn't enough to chop the big man down and he was pinned after an immense splash off the ropes.

The third quarter final participants were chosen next which, by proxy decided the fourth quarter final as well. James Drake was selected first and then Joey Hayes selected to face him. Two very familiar foes went all out to secure a place in the next round. In the end it was interference by Zack Gibson that gave his friend Drake the win.

This left Deadly Damon Leigh and Thomas Wolfe in the final first round match. Both members of Camp Egan, both seemed to keen to make the most of their chance. After a few minutes Chris Egan, the self proclaimed manager of champions, hopped into the ring and convinced Wolfe to take a count out loss. Clearly Egan has a plan, even if it seriously displeased the FutureShock Faithful by cheating them of a bout.

His plan seemed to work though as he had a man in both of the semi-finals. In the first Cyanide fought Kenny Williams. The plucky was bounced all over the ring but mounted a fiery comeback and even managed to take Cyanide off his feet for the first time in over a year with the same running high knee that defeated Sam Bailey. Unfortunately Chris Egan jumped on the apron and distracted the referee, costing Williams' the chance to score the pin. He was subsequently chased into the ring by colour commentator Jenson Blake and, in the process, accidentally struck the referee. Cyanide was eliminated by disqualification and very nearly laid his manager out before storming off.

After the bout Blake challenged Egan to a four on four elimination match at the 13^th anniversary show in August. Team Egan verses Team Blake with the losing team captain being forced to leave FutureShock for good!

 

Damon Leigh emerged alone for the second semi-final against James Drake. With so much at stake both men brought a big fight feel with them. The action spilled out of the room, into the lobby and back again with a full rubbish bin being introduced to the fray. In the end a hard fought win for Drake, with Gibson emerging from the curtain to raise his arm afterwards.

 

Lana Austin made her return to FutureShock and received a booming ovation ahead of her schedule bout against another debuting athlete in the shape of Molly Spartan. Bullied relentlessly by her larger, stronger opponent Lana fought back and scored the win by spiking Spartan with a diving tornado DDT.

Before the main event we were treated to a special appearance by Wolfgang. Originally scheduled to be part of Lotto Thunder, Wolfgang had to withdraw due to facial injuries suffered in ICW last weekend. The Regulator apologised for not being able to compete but was rudely interrupted by Liverpool's Number One Zack Gibson. The FutureShock champion almost couldn't be heard over the jeers and boos. Wolfgang promised both that Kenny Williams would win Lotto Thunder and that he'd be back for Gibson once he was right as rain again.

An action packed spring, the final of Lotto Thunder fired out of the starting blocks as Kenny Williams struck a huge pump kick off the opening bell and didn't let up once. Both of these world class grapplers threw caution to the wind, each of them even hitting spectacular dives to the outside. The FutureShock Faithful, initially solidly behind Williams, became more divided in their support as the match went on. At the conclusion it was Mr Mayhem implant DDT by Drake that secured him the win. The usually abrasive Drake even had a fist bump of respect for his opponent afterwards.

At this point the 2017 Lotto Thunder winner was given a choice of two contracts, one for the FutureShock Heavyweight Championship and one for the Adrenaline Champions. At this point Gibson joined him to celebrate and told Drake how great FutureShock would be once he won back his Adrenaline Championship, how great FutureShock would be when they both held all the gold in the company. Drake reached for the Heavyweight Championship contract and then, much to the disgust of the crowd, threw it on the floor. His final words? “Soner Dursun... Grit your teeth.”

FULL RESULTS FROM FUTURESHOCK UNDERGROUND 22 on June 30th in Prestwich at The Longfield Suites.

 

The last visit to Prestwich ahead of the Thirteenth Anniversary supershow in August.... Underground 22 was simmering under the surface before the doors even opened to the FutureShock Faithful. It wouldn't be long before the action reached boiling point.

 

In the opening bout, three of FutureShock's most formidable tag teams collided in a non title triple threat bout. Chris Egan's heavyweight duo of Deadly Damon Leigh & Cyanide tangled with The Sexy Gents as well as reigning tag team champions Wonderland. John McGregor showed true gentleman's grit by enduring a beating from all four of his and Sexy Kev's adversaries. In the end, they even secured a victory by countering Noah and Henry T. Grodd's attempt at the Jabberwocky elevated DDT into a pinning combination. Could this be enough to secure them a championship opportunity?

James Drake and Rampage Brown were originally due to face off last November at Uproar in Stockport. That night a premeditated assault by Drake and his friend Zack Gibson took the big man from Compton in Leeds out before the bell. There would be no such interruptions on this night as they went after each other in an intense, hard hitting contest. Drake's cunning and speed against Rampage's power and ferocity. It looked as though the heavyweight mauler was going to despatch Drake with his signature piledriver until Tyson T-Bone attacked his friend turned foe behind the referee's back with a pipe. Rampage then fell victim to Mr Mayhem, Drake's implant DDT for the pinfall but he was assuredly not impressed.

Xander Cooper, the self proclaimed ambassador of FutureShock and indeed all of British wrestling welcomed everyone to the debut of his new segment, The Embassy. Alongside Bobby Gage he credited all of his success in recent months to his inspiration, Theresa May. In the interests of providing opportunity he revealed that he'd pitched the Xander Cooper Invitational Battle Royal to FutureShock management for the thirteenth anniversary show. They, however, renamed it the Adrenaline Rush and will determine the number one contender to Soner Dursun's Adrenaline Championship. Colour commentator Sam Bailey drew Cooper's ire... First by inserting himself into the match and then by throwing Cooper's Ferrero Rocher into the crowd. An attack by the ambassador backfired when he found himself backdropped into the aforementioned chocolates whilst young Bobby desperately tried to salvage them.

 

Speaking of the Adrenaline Championship, Soner Dursun faced yet another stern challenge in his ongoing quest to raise the value of his title. British wrestling veteran and unquestionably one of the best grapplers in the world Bubblegum was quick to take the fight to him. The battle didn't let up for one second as the two fighters went back and forth with strikes, speed and devastating holds. In the end it was a breathtaking reverse frankensteiner from the top rope that set the challenger up for the World Beater frog splash. Who will be the next challenger for Soner Dursun and a title that means more and more every time it's put on the line?

Tyson T-Bone walked to the ring with a smirk on his face and a steel pipe in his hand ahead of his encounter with Ashton Smith. Ferocious as ever he held on through Smith's fiery initial flurry and proceeded to batter his popular foe with fists and feet all over the ring. With the FutureShock Faithful firmly behind him Ashton fought back and had the trailer park brawler reeling until he decided to go for his pipe, presumably to gain an unfair advantage. Cue Rampage Brown, coming out to disarm T-Bone and leave him wide open to a schoolboy roll up for the pin. Ashton Smith continues to build momentum and the hostilities between Rampage Brown and Tyson T-Bone continue to grow.

 

April Davids may be the most intimidating competitor to ever set foot in a FutureShock ring, regardless of gender. As such it's proven increasingly difficult to find opponents for the reigning and defending FutureShock women's champion. On this night, however, she faced a fierce challenge in the shape of the petite punk fireball by the name of Lil' Miss Roxxy. So fired up, in fact, was Roxxy that she refused to be intimidated and went straight for her opponent at the outset. A hard hitting affair, Davids came perilously close to losing her gold on several occasions when Roxxy hit a backcracker and locked in a bridging submission hold. In the end however the champion struck with an evil suplex and locked in the Lights Out dragon sleeper hold for the tap out, almost bending her challenger in two in the process. Who can stop her?

Main event time and “Liverpool's Number One” Zack Gibson emerged to his usual chorus of boos and jeers, bearing both the FutureShock Championship and his newly acquired ICW Zero-G Championship. Despite his haul of championship gold the hero's welcome was reserved solely for his opponent Joey Hayes, a man keen to build on a win over James Drake and score a huge non title win over the company standard bearer. Veteran ring warrior Hayes was more than a match for Gibson in terms of experience and came close to catching him with a JKO cutter and tapping him out in a crossface. James Drake emerged once again and it was his distraction that allowed Gibson to hit the Helter Skelter twisting brainbuster for the win.

Afterwards Gibson pushed past Drake to continue his assault on a downed Joey Hayes. At this point Ashton Smith made his way to the ring with the 2016 FutureShock Trophy in his hand, driving both Gibson and Drake out. He then told the FutureShock Champion that he was going to cash in his trophy and, unlike Gibson, wouldn't be attacking anyone from behind. The challenge was made and, with no option but to accept, Ashton Smith will face Zack Gibson for the FutureShock Championship in the main event of the Thirteenth Anniversary Supershow on August 25^th.

FutureShock Reloaded Results

In the opening bout The Sexy Gents accepted Xander Cooper's challenge for a tag team bout against the Ambassador and his protege Bobby Gage. The Sexy Gents proved to be victorious when John McGregor used his faceplant to set up Sexy Kev's top rope splash on Gage. Cooper was not best pleased with his young apprentice afterwards.

Jenson Blake stepped up to seek a measure of payback against Thomas Wolfe, the man that attacked him and literally threw him out of the building at Uproar 94. Despite his best efforts it was Chris Egan's distraction that set the man from the NQ up for a crushing loss. Afterwards Blake took the mic and told Egan that they were far from finished.

FutureShock Champion Zack Gibson stepped up from his seat at the commentary desk to address the Faithful. As one might expect they were less than receptive to Liverpool's number one, jeering relentlessly. Gibson invited James Drake to the ring and made it very clear that they were both in a league of their own, one their way to dominate FutureShock.

Somewhat ironically it was Gibson's attempt to interfere in Drake's subsequent match with Joey Hayes that caused plans to go South for the man from Blackpool. After a hard fought, hard hitting match Gibson inadvertantly distracted Drake allowing Hayes to to hit a JKO for a huge win.

Chants of "MEAT AND VEG!" rang out in 53Two as The Uprising of Don Meacho and Ryan Hendricks attempted to turn the momentum from their non title victory over Wonderland into a tag team championship win. Melody proved to be the difference maker as she helped Henry T. Grodd and Noah set up the Jabberwocky DDT on Hendricks for the pin.

Another singles match, another grudge... Delicious Danny Hope came firing out of the blocks at the start of his contest with the 400lb Cyanide. Peppering his gargantuan opponent with punches, kicks, forearms and chops. Just as it looked like he'd be the first man to take The Mountain off his feet for the first time in nearly a year Thomas Wolfe returned and attacked Danny. The odds were rapidly evened when Jenson Blake returned carrying a chair and a steel pip for Danny. Has the battle with Camp Egan become a war?

In the main event Adrenaline Champion Soner Dursun put his championship on the line against veteran and IMPACT Wrestling star Rockstar Spud. Disrespectful from the start, Spud squared off to Dursun and made it very clear that he'd never heard his name before this event. An epic back and forth encounter between veteran and rising sensation, Dursun retained and gained a new measure of respect in doing so.

After the bout it was announced that Soner would defend his championship on June 30th in Prestwich at Underground against no less than Bubblegum. Tickets are on sale now from FutureShockWrestling.co.uk with only ONE ringside seat left & limited second row reserved.

Stellar main event between Soner Dursun and Rockstar Spud at FutureShock tonight in Manchester. Wily veteran verses up and coming high flier, a joy to watch.
