@johnnyboy Does eFootball have a dedicated offline mode yet?

Sort of.  Mini Dream Team competitions you can play against the computer.  Win X matches in a mini tournament to unlock a contract/coins/level ups type stuff.

If there's a more indepth master league-esque competition you can play against the computer I haven't come across it yet.

  3. "You know what people love?  Lightsaber fights!  How about an episode that's nothing but lightsaber fights!" is how I assume the pitch meeting for that episode went.

When you get into the story the parallels with Ahsoka are massive.  Space compass and all that

  5. Having just finished all of Strange New Worlds I am glad that it's absolutely competent throughout, with some really good bits.

    Thoughts in the spoiler tags.

    Spoiler

They don't boldly go all that much.  However, from the not totally fucking the established timeline perspective it at least means we aren't going to meet loads of alien races that are never mentioned again in series set after this chronologically.

Due to the not boldly going it does feel like there's a lot of bottle episodes in something that's only got 10 episodes a season.

Way too much bumping into TOS characters.  I think we only need Bones to complete the set.

The Lower Decks crossover and Subspace Rhapsody episodes were tremendous fun.

There's sometimes an overbearing budgetary constraints vibe that's even more prevalent than the one in aspects of the Disney+ Star Wars shows.

It does give me hope that watchable Star Trek series, that don't entirely rely on our fondness for Patrick Stewart, can still be made.

  6. Diet Coke is my first and only love.  Pepsi is never ok, just tolerated.

If I'm feeling exotic I love to sink a Ting (fizzy grapefruit) which you can even find single cans of in regular supermarkets now as well as little Afro-Caribbean shops.

maybe I'll take 10yo to see Oppenheimer

    It's a 15 certificate.

Saw it in IMAX today, some truly bowel rumbling scenes.  If you know the story well, or have listened to things like "The Bomb" podcast, obviously some of the intrigue is removed.

    e,g, when historical figure appears

3 odd hours flew buy.  A real corker.

    And (MASSIVE SPOILER) :-

    Spoiler

Florence Pugh guiding the tip in while Cillian Murphy read out "I am become death..." was really bizarre.  Had I been watching it at home I would have had to rewind it to make sure that it actually happened.

I remember buying this and being in awe. Might have been the first one I bought.

I sold the first one (black lingerie cover) to a guy in Holland.  I advertised it in the small ads of SFX magazine and my parents' phone rang off the hook.  Some guys who missed out sounded close to tears when I said it had already gone.  I hope it served you well Dutch Bart.

I'm about as convinced he's actually retiring as I would be with a pro wrestling retirement. He's already walked it back a bit and said it's just touring he doesn't want to do and he might do some one-off live shows in the future if he gets the itch. So world tour in 2025 probably.

Most wrestling thing about it was him putting the youngsters over on the way out.

Lizzo and The Chicks were clearly the highlights for me, just gutted that The Chicks London dates are just opening for Springsteen and I can't get to them or any of the other full shows out in the regions.  UHD iPlayer was pissing about for me so I had to watch in regular HD like some kind of peasant.
