I'm sure Codemasters did the same.

Codemasters were always doing crazy stuff.  Had the joystick port carts for the MegaDrive (like a multi tap built into the cartridge for two more controllers) and then on the NES the original Micro Machines was a pass through cartridge.  You needed an original NES game to plug into Micro Machines for the console to register it.

Edit: MD multitappers were called J-Carts.

  2. For me the MegaDrive was the US sports games console.  The EA games always seemed to be more MD friendly, with NHL 95 being glued in for months at a time.  Jordan Vs Bird had an annoying crash glitch though :(

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Some Like It Hot is still brilliant and funny, and every bit as good as its reputation.

I forgot to mention Some Like it Hot. They had it on at the local cinema recently and it's still absolutely brilliant. Tony Curtis as Shell Oil Junior never fails to make me howl. Was surprised how well it held up, there's obviously stuff that wouldn't fly now, but less of it than I anticipated given it was released when Eisenhower was in office.

My all time favourite film, it's just sublime.  Joe E. Brown is the MVP for me with the final line, but I'm scared to watch the documentary in case it reveals they took 8000 attempts at it rather than the bottled comic timing lightning that it comes across as.

Honourable mention to Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2.  Del Preston's brandy glass of brown M&Ms and the introduction of "schwing" to my teenage vocabulary will always hold the WW pair a place in my heart.

It may have changed more recently, but there was a big scandal about it a few years ago in the papers and on watchdog about Smart TV's no longer being smart.

IIRC it was YouTube dropping support for a ton of old TVs, with no way to upgrade, that got a lot of publicity.

    The Boy and The Heron

It may be recency bias but it very well might be my favourite Ghibli film. Visually breathtaking from start to finish. I was almost in tears at some of it just from the sights and sounds alone.

I was exhausted.  Miyazaki might really be retiring after that as he put everything in it.  Very dense and buckets of animated bird shit.

No, you’re crying at the end of the Ghosts Christmas special!

Fassbender perfection gif.  Ghosts is going to be a comfort re-watch for decades to come.

I went back a few pages and didn't see any mention of the show, so I figure it might be worth a mention. Slow Horses just finished its 3rd season.

Yeah, consistently excellent.  Quality wise AppleTV really hits the spot.  For All Mankind and Slow Horses have become all-time favourites for me.  Monarch Legacy of Monsters is having a really promising first season too expanding the modern Godzilla films.

    Alison Krauss

Always had the singing voice of an actual angel, but I swear there are some old interviews kicking around where her speaking voice sounds like she's a docker with a 20 a day habit.

It's Trisha Yearwood for me, handily on the CMA Christmas special on BBCFour.

And although it's a completely obvious pick, Glen Campbell singing Jimmy Webb's words remains completely irresistible.

I always thought it weird that we assign a gender to things like countries, vehicles or other inanimate objects. And they are usually a "she"

As someone learning French I would be delighted if I didn't have to remember if my cheese was masculine or feminine.

Yeah, Led By Donkeys being the prime example.

I think only their road-painting stunt really falls into that category.  The billboards, projections, and videos have been some of the better attempts at not letting the shitness and sleaze get swept under the rug. For example, I can't really see how their lockdown timeline is comparable to paying Farage actual money to do a Cameo where the pay-off is grifters will say anything if you pay them.

Slogan wise Disneyland is the happiest place on earth.  Walt Disney World is the most magical place on earth.
