TIL Graham Souness was Dale Winton’s best man at his wedding.
Apparently they were really good mates, but that was a bit for a show rather than a real wedding. I can't remember if Graeme Souness was in on it though or if he thought Dale Winton really was marrying Nell McAndrew.

I liked Jayston in the original Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - he had one of those really distinctive, solid, stern British voices
He was the voice of every John LeCarre audiobook I've listened to. The perfect narrator for a Cold War thriller.

Might just be me, but a bit like Emilia Clarke.Â
Yes, the scrunched up meme face picture of her is what was being triggered. Cheers.

I know Dynamite looks like someone, but I can't put my finger on it. Who does she look like?

That just highlights how much waste and idiocy there is in local government.Â
A video message from Carole Baskin is council tax well spent.

Mrs JB got the mega drawer Ninja at Christmas and is absolutely smitten. It can be used as two independent drawer zones or as one single gigantic drawer that you could fit a small ox in. My mum has since picked the same one up too.

Joe Flacco: 307 Yards Passing, 2 Touchdowns Passing, 1 Interception Thrown, 13 Yards Rushing = 11 Points
Ints and Touchdowns are reversed. Flacco threw back-to-back pick sixes

my Dad has always said he wants "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash or "I'm On Fire" by Bruce Springsteen for the crematorium. Lazy joke, but it'll do.

In a similar dad joke vein I've pencilled in "Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot" as the furnace fires up.

Another One Bites The Dust
A lad I knew died tragically young from cancer and he was a massive fan of Freddie and Co. As the curtains closed and people started filing out the bass notes started over the speakers. Causing some of us to have to hold in laughs at a funeral is exactly the send off he would have wanted.

Has anyone seen Walsh Jr and F1's George Russell when he's got a floppy haircut in the same room? The presenting wasn't so bad that it spoiled the experience, but it was a weaker aspect of the show.
Overall, I loved it. 100% sold on it. If I'd had smiley potato faces for my tea you could have told me I'd slipped back in time to 1992.
The Glads are toned and trained, but they're not as freakish as the likes of your Shadows and Warriors, so hopefully less cocaine and roid stories popping up in the tabloids.
It feels legit with the arena setting, unlike the cheapo Sky version done in a single studio.
The Glads' rags are ok, but not feeling iconic from the outset. However, I thought the competitor gear was a considerable step up, so still a positive overall.
The games seemed to be played more fairly with some elements of safety in mind. Not trying to pry fingers off in hang tough, Glads not kicking out on the bridge etc. Refs were absolutely fine, I'm assuming everyone hears John Anderson in their head anyway.
Viper as the bad boy ala Wolf was a wet fart. Poor imitation. Wolf had mad charisma and intensity that enabled him to ham it up as the panto villain, but still seen credible that he would absolutely fuck you up. I imagine that the producers wanted someone to be Wolf-like, but it's not even good enough to be Wolf-lite on the first viewing. I hope the role either improves, or the tribute act is knocked on the head in subsequent episodes. Like the presenting, it wasn't enough to stop my overall enjoyment, but it felt too forced and didn't click for me. In fairness to the lad, it's probably hard to match the "intensity" of some of the 90s Glads without assistance.
A few niggles, with mainly positive changes. I shall be tuning in for the duration.

I know Gladiators isn't pretending to be live, but he was out in Mexico presenting Formula E on TNT tonight. A bold decision to have half your broadcast team be new to the sport and just repeating what a lovely time they're having.
-----
My bedroom wall was essentially wallpapered with posters of Jet from the Gladiators magazine (as a teenager, my wife wouldn't allow it now ). In my crates of CDs the original soundtrack must still be in there (what is it good for, absolutely nothing).
I also have a signed Jet photo kicking about that I obtained far more recently when she was life coaching and doing the convention circuit (which she may well still be doing).

I may have mentioned this the last time MD chat was about, but my younger brother swore blind it was "Mega" due to it being on the Mega Drive at the start of the Sonic games. I think he was dropped as a baby.

Did anyone ever chip their PlayStation themselves?
It was only 4 wires to solder, fairly straightforward. Optical drives were also really easy to replace in the original Playstation.
