Moderators neil Posted December 28, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) Some general infomation: Â The nomination threads will be opened sometime on January 1st. Look at the categories and think about who you want to nominate. Â The nomination threads will be open for 2 weeks. Then after closing the Top 10 nominations will go through to final voting. Because of this it is very important that you nominate who *you* want and include them in your nominations, and don't leave <x> out because someone else already nominated them. Â You can nominate multiple times, but please try to keep it within one post as to make it easier for me the collate. Â After a short period, probably 1-2 days tops, the voting threads will be open and voting will take place for a week. Â After that the winners will be announced. Â The UKFF awards (not the wrestling awards) are currently being nominated by paid members, but voting will be open for all UKFF members. Â All UKFF members can nominate for the wresling awards. FozzY2K
How do you vote? Paid members get to nominate what they think is the best/worst, then out of those nominations, all other members get to vote on the winner.

Segaboyno
The only problem with your concept is this:If everyone is "nominating" their favourite in each category, isn't this essentially the same as "voting"?In other words, whatever people are nominating, they're then going to vote for. So the entire voting process is more or less irrelevant, as the results are going to be near identical.Good work!
PC316
You can nominate more than one wrestler, but you can only vote once, so it isn't pointless.

So the entire voting process is more or less irrelevant, as the results are going to be near identical.Good work! This was discussed "Elsewhere". Lister's post sums up why it is how it is.Having a proper automated poll is very simple, while doing it in a thread means you have to keep track of who has already voted to avoid double-votes, plus you'll get people changing their minds after voting, people arguing about whether candidates are eligible, general discussion in the thread causing confusion about whether somebody is casting a vote or arguing the toss, and so on.Plus, you are going to get different outcomes without 'secret' voting - people might be afraid to say who they really want for the bad awards, the British awards will get quite political, and if everyone knows who everyone voted for in the UKFF category awards we're looking at the mother of all flamewars. It really has to be done using the poll feature, and I don't see how you can pick the top ten choices without the nominations process.
