I mentioned this in the Wrestling Books thread in On-Topic back in November, but....

My first book, Kayfabe: A Mostly True History of Professional Wrestling, is available to order now from Amazon, either in paperback or eBook formats - https://amzn.eu/d/hCrbjDi

The book explores how wrestling developed from a folk sport and carnival attraction into a global business, with specific focus on the importance of Kayfabe, and wrestling's balancing act between the real and the unreal. It begins with the origins of modern wrestling in the nineteenth century, through two World Wars, the rise of gimmicks and attention-grabbing stunts, the reign of the so-called "Gold Dust Trio", and the advent of television and the National Wrestling Alliance, through to the influence of Mixed Martial Arts, and how it has been interwoven with professional wrestling since the beginning.
