It's not just Bischoff, Heyman's exactly the same; if ECW had stayed around he'd have signed Bryan Danielson and CM Punk and given them a massive push, he'd have switched focus to make it more of an MMA-influenced production, he'd have utilised more international talent - all these really prescient, forward-thinking moves that were in absolutely no way evident from the product he was actually creating in 2001, but that make him sound like a visionary by talking about what he would have done retroactively.

Heyman might genuinely have died in 2002 had ECW gotten another Network. He was such a cokehead and never slept, he was only going one way.

Which wasnt anything to worry about, because according to the research the Between the Sheets patron did, there was less than zero percent chance of ECW ever getting another channel. It was pure lip service, and the amount of debt the company was in was impossible to get out of because Acclaim, WWF, San Francisco Toy Makers, and a shit load of others had money tied up in them.

They really fucked so many people over if you look at that bankrupcy filing of HHG Corp. It wasnt just wrestlers owed money. Local sign makers. Local lighting companies. The security firm. So many businesses almost went under because Heyman was running this vanity project he really had no business being the head business man of.
