WAW WRESTLING BREAKING NEWS.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

WAW Have been running a golden road league for the last few months to find a new RQW Cruiserweight champion. The league has gone very well with some great matches along the way. Unfortunately it has ground to a halt through injuries, match making being at times impossible and other various reasons. Because the final is due to take place at The WAW 20th anniversary show, March 1st at Epic Studios in Norwich, the WAW Championship Committee has taken the following action. The Golden league will now be disbanded with the current top two Alex Young and Jonny Storm going into the final, plus a UK Fan pick and a European pick making up a fourway final to be held at the event on March 1st, Fans pick for this are welcome at this time, your pick must be from UK only. the names will be put in a hat and the star to go in final will be drawn at random. The European pick will be by open invitation for cruiserweights across Europe to send in CV's, all will be studied and the best man in the opinion of the WAWCC Will be the pick for Europe.

please vote this is a genuine offer for a cruiserweight from the UK To work one of WAW's Stella shows where last show we had 850 paying fans and turned many away, please remember the guy must be from the UK. Vote now for your choice.

We are also inviting cruiserweights from around Europe to send your CV To waw1994@hotmail.co.uk.

My nomination is Joey Hayes

Height: 5"11

Weight: 169 lbs

From: Leigh, Lancashire

Joey Hayes made his pro wrestling debut in 2002 in Wigan. After extensive training with Lee Butler and Robbie Brookside, Hayes made his first appearance for Grand Pro Wrestling in July 2003. After an impressive debut, Hayes went on a winning streak that lasted 18 months and later won not only the GPW British title but also the Tag Team Trophy (with "Dangerous" Damon Leigh) and the 2009 Crazy Cruiser 8 Tournament. He was a semi-finalist in the 2013 Crazy Cruiser 8 tournament.

Over the next 10 years, Hayes would become one of the most popular wrestlers in Britain, competing not only for GPW but also for Futureshock Wrestling (where alongside Danny Hope as The Models managed by Melanie Price, he would hold the Tag Team Titles for over 2 years) XWA, All-Star, Preston City Wrestling, Infinite Promotions, PBW, BCW, NGW, HXC and many more.

Hayes is a major player in Dutch Pro Wrestling over in the Netherlands where he recently held the Heavyweight title.

Hayes has wrestled several big names from the USA including former WWE Cruiserweight and Tag Team Champion Paul London, Adam Cole, Super Crazy, JUNCTION THREE (Dragon Kid & Masato Yoshino) Blood WARRIORS (BxB Hulk & Naoki Tanizaki) and most recently former WWE Intercontinental Champion, D-LO BROWN.

Hayes had a try-out with WWE in December 2012.

Held in high regard by fans and peers alike, Hayes would be a fine addition to the roster for WAW's 20th Anniversary Show.
