NEWS 13 - Unlucky For Some 24/2/12 Peterlee, Co Durham

The North East Wrestling Society return to action for 2012 for our thirteenth show. With that in mind we are doing something we rarely do by naming our show, following the 13 theme the show will be entitled "Unlucky For Some". The show will take place on Friday 24th February at our most popular venue Peterlee Leisure Centre.

It could be argued that NEWS British Champion El Ligero fits into that category as much as anyone. After seeing off Martin Kirby in the feud-ending street fight in November, Ligero comes face to face with his biggest challenge to date - literally! The first and only NEWS British Champion, who has also defended his title against Nathan Cruz in NEWS as well as defending the belt in other companies, faces the aptly named Colossus Kennedy for the championship.

Whoever ends up facing Lowthian will also feel unlucky as "The Tyneside Titan" had an unbelievable 2011, running rampant in NEWS, remaining undefeated, beating Pac, Bingo Balance, BT Gunn and more while making his name further a field by destroying "The European Hardcore Icon" Iceman, as well as venturing into other top companies such as SWE down south and PBW in Scotland. Lowthian's opponent is unconfirmed at this point but he ended 2011 by issuing a challenge for the NEWS British Championship and the geordie is well in contention for a title shot soon, as long as he keeps on winning.

The first show of 2012 will see the return of a familiar face who has requested not to be revealed until the night of the show. It will also see the return to NEWS for "The Showstealer" Nathan Cruz. Regular roster members Iain Robinson, Micky Long, Lewis Chambers, Robbie Ryder, John Britain, Jack Norton and the NEWS Tag Team Champions Fast & Furious (AJ Anderson & Max Heat) are all scheduled to appear as well as one or two others who are still being finalised right now.

You know that is a joke, and that NEWS is the best company in the North east at the minute. The work rate and the overall look of the show is one of the best the north east has ever seen!

Long may it continue for you!
