The only thing that comes to mind are the "Spring Break-out" episodes of Nitro in the late 90s, which came from the club in Florida that was the location of the last Nitro. It doesn't sound like the events you're referring to though as they weren't house shows and didn't feature just scrubs. It was definitely a club though.

This is the sort of thing I mean. Not sure if exactly this is exactly it or if the venue is a club, because it's all half remembered from hearing about it ages ago, but this sort of line up, with sub 100 attendance. Look at that card.

That reminds me of when TV Burp covered Celebrity Coach Trip and Harry Hill was saying how he liked how people made it clear it was never personal when it came to nominating who should leave. Cut to Cheryl Baker saying “I vote David and David, it is personal, you’re a vile man” or words to that effect. Will have to check that documentary out as it sounds brilliant!

    Enjoy!

Edit: Fuck it, gonna watch this again tonight.

  3. Can't let talk of band schisms go without mentioning the incredible Trouble at the Top documentary about rival Bucks Fizz incarnations. Somehow David Van Day of Dollar got rights to the Fizz name, and as Taylor Parkes once described "laid his evil eggs" inside the band. Top notch telly.

  4. Can't play Peggle without thinking of the time I stayed up all night playing it while listening to the audiobook of Middlemarch, because I had an exam in the morning and hadn't read it. Didn't finish the book, or pass the exam, but I did enjoy me some Peggle.

  5. NFL Draft, so you know what that means! Here's some of the stars of tomorrow.

There’s mileage in a bad guy authority figure there. Big Shaddy Cool cuts off his sons allowance and they have to fight against his wrath to save their jobs and the company.

I know you read this Tone, hit me up on the socials and we’ll talk Turkey.

I'd book Shad like my dad if he'd discovered I was running a wrestling promotion. "What the fuck is this gay nonsense? I should have never let you watch American television. I should have made you play with that crystal radio set."

  7. Slightly off the track, but since he's come up, I call chinny-reckon on Regal's "you know what, it was a good thing that mega push I had after the King of the Ring got canned because of my steroid bust, because I was thinking some bad things after Heath Ledgering myself into the role". However you need to come to terms with it mate, but Jimmy Hill, Jimmy Hill.

  8. Thanks mate. I've gone home for the day. My manager has been lovely today, while I melted down. The offer is there to step back down, or to reduce my responsibilities until I feel more comfortable, but in all honesty I hate every single aspect of management and I've no idea why I convinced myself it would work this time.

I've just been promoted at work. I did the job I'm going into before, covering for maternity leave just before lockdown started in 2020 and I stood down voluntarily because it was a bit of a fucking nightmare for various reasons, and also I worked out I could get paid more in my old role doing all the overtime I possibly could. After 4 years of working 80+ hours a week, I am officially tired of that, and having spoken with my management team, I've had enough assurances that I'm not going to chucked into the deep end this time, and personally I'm a lot more ready for the challenge.

Looking likey I'll be stepping down from this after near breakdown in record time.

That's what we call a wide parting.

  11. I think I've mentioned this on here before, but I always think of my nan when I see a robin in the garden attacking other birds without provocation.
