Does anyone actually fall for them?

Yes. And almost you by the sounds of it 😉

In all seriousness, as kev says, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. It costs a few quid to run ads on platforms like Facebook, so it’s easy to set up a Shopify store, run a Facebook ad campaign promoting something at too-good-to-be-true prices, take a load of money for orders, and then for the store to be shut down overnight. And Shopify won’t do fuck all either; they’ll just point you to the vendor, who isn’t going to bother replying from the @gmail.com address associated with the store.

We’ve got new neighbours, a young chap (30 ish) who’s bought his first house, and his girlfriend who’s not living there but there a lot.

     Lovely people.  But.

They are very loud when having sex, which they do with a frequency that someone married 15 years like myself can’t remember.  And not just “can hear through the walls” loud but “echoing around the back gardens” loud.

It’s like two geese mating, with all the honking.

At first we thought it was amusing but now we’re having to put the radio on in the bedroom every evening to drown the noise out.

As British people of course we will just never mention it.  I can’t even think of an oblique way of referencing how much sound travels in the road or something.

Next time you see them just ask if they’ve heard the awful racket from a couple of foxes in the garden recently.

  3. I’m not saying it’s related, but:

Bless them. Making out as if workers getting stiffed by a promoter on pay is some new and uncommon phenomenon.

  4. Greg Secker is who YouTube most frequently puts in front of my face.

”I’m here, in my second home…”

Fuck off. If you were making so much money from trading then you wouldn’t be peddling get-away learning retreats.

Maybe Brooklyn or Manhattan. Somewhere I'm least likely to be murdered. Probably gonna leave it to a week or two before, going without the family so not as rushed to get something.

Just be aware that whatever you pay, you’ll also have the city tax to pay for each night, plus U.S. hotels like to put a hold on your card for incidentals.

With this and the switch of NFL Gamepass (off topic alert!) to DAZN who’ve made a right royal mess of it, I don’t seem to have much luck with my subscription services.

DAZN can fuck off as well. ÂŁ20/month?

Went to cancel my subscription recently because I wasn’t watching anything on it. Go to my account on app. “Please use website to manage your account.” Go to my account on website. “Please call.” Urgh.

Call number, tell agent I want to cancel. “OK. Whilst I’m pulling up your account, can I ask why you want to cancel?” Yeah, I don’t use it. Is that not a good enough reason? No. Agent just goes into full-on pitch mode, offering me deal after deal after deal. “Sound good?” “No. I just want to cancel, please.”

So, after agent has exhausted all options at trying to get me to stay, tells me my account will have one last charge and then end. Ask why. “Oh, we have a 30-day cancellation term”. Fuck’s sake. What an absolute grift.

Any other subscription service lets you cancel and your subscription ends on your next billing date. They also let you cancel the same way as you subscribe (online). But no, not DAZN. Expensive as fuck and make it as difficult as possible to leave, and when you do leave, sting you with one final month’s fee.

What are you guys using it on? I didn't have any issues when I watched it on my tablet.

I tried the LG TV app, the PS5 app, and the mobile app. All the same, utterly dreadful experience.

Local co-op needs to process a whole lot of game, twice, and to be fair there's a reason splitscreen isn't much of a thing today.

I don’t think that’s truly the case. Goldeneye had split screen. Lots of PS1 games had split screen. There are “modern” games that have split screen such as Rocket League. You’d have one instance of the game, but just a different “camera” per player.

Oh piss off Your Shite Site.

You’re the one getting your knickers in a twist because you went to effort to collect a cold coffee instead of just being up front and using the power of communication to say, “Thanks, lovely gesture, but it’ll be cold by the time I got there.”

You’re not the arsehole in the scenario, but you didn’t exactly do anything to avoid the situation. Bit weird to go through that rigmarole, grumbling each step of the way, and then take to a forum to moan about it.

  10. Can’t be arsed with this. App won’t log in (just gets stuck on “complete sign in on website” screen), can’t find anything, and what I can find isn’t even in chronological order.

Fuck that. Instant cancellation for me.

  11. I like coffee. I’m also an adult and would have just been up front and said, “Thanks, it’s a lovely gesture, but a bit out of the way for me to pick up” and either left it at that, or arranged an actual meet-up for coffee.

  12. The debate comes from the loose definition of what “wrestling” and a “wrestler” is.

If we’re talking about technical ability then no, I don’t rate Hogan. This weird “he was great in Japan” reputation because he busted out an enziguiri or drop toe hold is rubbish when you can say Kane did the same moves, and in the States, yet no one points to Kane as being a “great” wrestler.

But if we’re talking about “wrestling” as the act of showmanship and using your body and actions to tell a story and elicit emotions and response from a crowd then yeah, Hogan was absolutely fantastic.
