  1. Thanks Both

I will have another look tomorrow

I triple checked the DNS numbers so I dont think its that

One thing reading your list, from memory at some point I had to choose between Wifi and LAN cable - is that your point 5?

EDIT I also switched off and on again and tried to connect to my existing wifi. It said cannot connect, signal may be too weak

  2. Well I set up the US PSN account all fine

I downloaded the Network app all fine

Then I followed the steps on Unblock US with the internet connection, it didnt work, and now the PS4 wont connect to the net at all.

Ive obviously fucked the whole thing up - thought this was supposed to be easy! Any ideas what ive done wrong?

I don't have a techy bone in my body so im not surprised by any of this to be honest!

  3. Thanks all so the US PSN account looks easy to set up.

Ive just looked at Unblock US - it looks like you do everything through the PS4 - is that right? The reason ive been putting this off is because I thought I would have to mess around with my router, and it would effect other devices in my house that use the internet

  4. That really is mad about Phil Rudd

RIP Wayne Static. They sort of passed me by to be honest, although I really like "Its Going Down" by The X-Ecutioners which he was involved with.

Wayne Static announced a European tour next year with Drowning Pool which I was going to go to, not sure whats going to happen with that now. I'll still pop along even if its just Drowning Pool, worth the £15 for Bodies alone to me

  5. Just finished Boardwalk Empire, really going to miss that show. Just in case you haven't all seen it yet -

I was secretly hoping Nucky would somehow finish the series at the top of the food chain, but I was fairly happy with the way it all came together at the end, with Tommy getting revenge for his Grandmother and Father.

I agree that the young Nucky was one of the best things about the last season.

Ive been reading about Al Capone, Johnny Torrio, Enoch Thompson and Charles Luciano amongst others, and I was really surprised about how much stuff that happened in the show happened in real life (Torrio surviving being shot several times for one!)

  6. Ohhh i might try getting to one of those shows.

anyone here off a show on the Soil/American Head Charge/(hed)pe tour...im off to Bristol wednesday, nostlagia all night!

Please let me know what you think of this. They are playing in Reading on Friday which im tempted with, just don't think I can bear town on Halloween

Not sure this is quite the right thread for this but on the subject of podcasts has anybody been listening to 'Serial' from This American Life. A journalist has done a lot of investigation into the murder of a school girl from 1999 in Maryland. The ex-boyfriend was convicted but basically on the evidence of one person. There's only been 2 episodes so far but the journalist looks into the nature of their relationship, the evidence, a possible alibi, deficiencies in the defence case and so on. A lot of the the prosecution's case doesn't really add up but that's certainly not to say that he didn't actually do it.

Yes! A brilliant podcast so far. I keep going back and forth over whether he did it.

Episode 3 went up today (too early?) and features a fantastic Astro-baiting character in the form of Mr. S. He's got Beach Diaries cameo written all over him.

I listened to episode 1 this morning on the way in to work and didn't want to get out of my car and go into the office, I was engrossed.

Me and a mate are both going to listen to it one episode at a time and discuss it - seemed like quite a fun thing to do.

Is anyone else listening to this? I am also engrossed, to the point where I dont want to google anything about it in case I see a "spoiler", but I am absolutely desperate to find out more. Thursday cannot come quick enough.

I keep thinking that Adnan didn't do it, but every episode seems to have a big twist so who knows what she finds out next. Jay's story sounds very dodgy to me.

Its such a cool idea for a podcast as well. Are there any similar podcasts?

I am currently listening to the Mysterious Universe podcast which is good. Very interesting talk about near death experiences on the episode I have.

How come we can sometimes tell when the phone is about to start ringing? Can we subconsciously feel the waves?

Ive always wondered this. Similarly, I wake up two minutes before my alarm goes off all the time. Doesnt matter if that's 6 o clock or 10 o clock. Lots of other people have said the same thing happens to them too.

That one is easy, it's because you subconsciously know what time your alarm is going to go off when you go to sleep. More so if it's a recurring alarm like one to get up for work.

I get what you're saying, but how does our brain know what the time is?

Last Wednesday I needed to be up at 6:30, which is completely different to my normal routine. I set my alarm for 6:30, and I wake up at 6:27. To me that is a bit freaky. It happens a lot, but I agree that perhaps our body clocks have a part to play when we are in a normal daily routine.

  10. I experienced a strange coincidence about 10 years ago

I was an avid Reading fan for years and years, and my Dad would always get me a season ticket. So most Saturdays me and a group of mates would go to Reading on the train from our home town of Newbury, watch the game, and get the train home again. We were only 15 so couldnt make the most of any pubs in Reading, we would just come straight home to play on Championship manager or something.

Well one Saturday we were in Newbury walking to the train station as we would always do. On the way I needed the loo so we all popped into Debenhams, I went off to the toilet, locked the door, took care of business, and went to leave. But for the first, and only, time in my life, I couldnt unlock the door. The lock just jammed. Not only was this pretty scary, but it was also fucking annoying, because the twenty minutes or so it took for the staff to break the door open meant I missed the train to Reading. My mates were not very happy, but all was not lost because we could still catch the bus, which was pretty much the same price, just took longer and obviously wasn't as fun.

We get to Reading, watch the game and get the bus home again. We obviously dicked about on the way home and I didnt get back to my house until about 7pm that evening. When I walked in to my house my family just collapsed in tears. I looked at the TV and they were watching the breaking news of the Ufton Nervet rail disaster. I should have been on that train. That was the train we would get every single time Reading played at home. Ever since that day I have never left home without a mobile, I cant imagine what my family were going through for that hour or so, not knowing where I was.

So long story short, needing a shit might just have saved my life

  11. I used to love watching the Most Haunted live shows purely for the Derek Acorah "possessions". You knew shit was about to go down when he started saying "What was that Sam? Who is it Sam? SAM?". The next minute he would be rocking his head back and forth and start shouting in a weird voice (always the same voice though?). Then once he got it out of his system it would cut back to the studio, where the sceptic would be sat next to the presenter with his head in his hands as he asked to explain how he can be a non-beliver after what we had just witnessed

  12. Without trawling through the thread are there any clear and simple to follow instructions to get the Network on PS3? If someone could copy and paste them I would be grateful.

Edit - lost interest already, ignore

  13. Yeah wasps are horrible little things. No purpose to them whatsoever. We had a big nest in our compost bin at the end of our garden. I opened the lid not knowing what was in there, and thousands of the fuckers chased me down the garden. Got stung in the earhole which was flipping painful.

Ive never understoon why people are scared of spiders. What is it that frightens you so much? My other half is petrified of them, and every time I ask her why she felt the need to drag me out of the shower to pick up a spider she just says "cause they're horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  14. Ive gone Titan and wish I had gone Warlock now purely for that nova bomb! Finished the story today, pretty disappointed with the end to be honest, but completely understand that the story is a fairly small part of the overall experience.

Thought I would get some awesome armour for finishing it too, but no such luck :-(

  15. Yeah Destiny is taking over my life at the moment. I love the fact that it feels like stuff is being added to it all the time. Im up to level 18 and still finding new game modes and the like.

Having said that the story is very samey - go here, shoot them, scan that, kill boss.

Im really poor online as well, dont know if im just shit or if its because my armour and weapons are not up to scratch yet. I'll keep plugging away and hopefully see some improvement.

Best of all is the strikes. One of my favourite ever gaming moments was finishing a tough strike with a few friends, that is what co op gaming is all about
