  1. I thought of a similarity to Jack the Ripper because one the prostitues surname he killed was Nichols and the surname of one recently murdered was Nicol.Plus, the Superintendent's surname is Gull, and Sir William Gull was/is considered as being Jack the Ripper.Yes, I do realise these are TINY coincidences. Jack the Ripper is one of the most fascinating murder cases in history, so anytime a number of prostitues are killed, it's bound to create a link in peoples minds.

  2. Give WWE five years, they'll have similar hilarious long lists of stupiditiy (they're already part of the way there).

But they're not nearly as entertaining at sucking ass as WCW was. If WWE was this fucked-up and ridiculous, I'd still watch, but it doesn't have the same trainwreck factor. It's just bland and low quality. If you're going to suck, at least have the decency to suck with style.
Ture, I used to really look forward to listening to Schiavone and Heenan not giving a flying shit on commentary and discussing anything but the match (I remember Heenan saying during the breaks, the fans would ask Heenan, Schiavone and Tenay for autographs, while Heenan and Tenay would oblige, Schiavone would just sit with his head on the desk ignoring everyone ). You're right, it was an interesting train-wreck, while WWE for the most part is a tiresome, predictable bore.
  3. Thank you Dopper, I have these all saved on my PC now  Fantastic stuff. *applauds*I still miss WCW though, it was a nice alternative and also morbidly amusing to see all the screw-ups. 4. I believe it is Atlanta, Georgia. He was around during Russo's first reign of terror, but I think it may have only been one show.

He appeared as a heel with Russo's S.E.X. group and spent ten minutes 'shooting' at Mike Tenay, with all manner of insider terms while Russo masturbated furiously (DISCLAIMER: The masturbating only happened in Russo's head...at the time). Of course, Schiavone was never mentioned again and it had no impact whatsoever in regards to storylines.RUSSO IS A GENIUS.
  5. Great stuff Dopper, the Russo era should be immense!

"The worst part was when Sting finally got the Scorpion Deathlock on Hartand Zbyszko started claiming it wasn't being applied properly,so he and Schiavone had this discussion about the finer points of the Scorpionwhile Bret Hart was selling it like it was the end of his career"- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: October 12, 1998

I can remember watching this and laughing at the time, Bret was almost crying with the pain and Schiavone and Zbysko are just rambling on, arguing about the positioning of Hart's knees  Also the promo Bret did about his cat (Socks?) was especially surreal.I always assumed Beefcake was a love-slave for Hogan and then Warrior stole him and had his own merry way with him (that's why Beefcake was asleep all the time), thus Hogan was jealous. That probably made more sense than what the feud was really about. (God knows what)
  6. "Goldberg vs. Giant was advertised as the main event of both Terre Haute and Peoria. Some time back, Goldberg had asked for those days off and and J.J. Dillon gave him the days off.Somehow, with the typical great communication internally, the promotions department never knew and continuedto advertise him. Nobody knew there was a problem until the day of the first show when they realizedthe only match advertised was Goldberg vs. The Giant and Goldberg wasn't there. The deal turned into a disaster as the original thinking was that maybe 40 percent of the 7,000+ who paidwould actually go to the box office the week after the show and ask for refunds. So instead, the decision was made to not inform the crowd about Goldberg not being there, and to basically warm upall the cars and all sprint out of the building like Earl Hebner in Montreal the minute the Page-Hennig match was overand before anyone in the crowd realized what was up and started throwing furniture"- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: September 07, 1998

That is tremendous! Thanks for posting, I look forward to reading more.
  7. Fair enough. I suppose his career has slowed down, due to his age and he probably doesn't want to end up like DeNiro, just doing anything for a buck. However, what he has done has generally been pretty good, best of his most recent work (that i've seen) is 'Angels in America', that's great.

Need I remind you again, Gossy, about a certain cameo he made in a certain Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck film? :p
You and that bloody film! I bet it's your favourite!
  8. Al Pacino is as great as ever as Michael and it's sad to see what he's become

Do you mean, it's sad to see what Corelone had become or Pacino? Not being funny, just a genuine question.
Corelone. Although Pacino's career has floundered somewhat in recent years.

That's surely the love child of Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys.
Thank you, I knew he looked like someone, just couldn't put my finger on it. I had to settle for Avid Merrion :/

Someone in my school was like that. A cunt.
  10. Yeah the main theme (lifted from Badlands) is awesome. You don't know the track title do you?

Yeah, i have it somewhere, it's by Hans Zimmer... let me have a scan...Edit: It's Hans Zimmer - You're so cool. Fantastic name for the track!
Hans Zimmer is amazing, I've got this live CD of his where he and his orchestra perform a number of his compositions and it's goosebump wielding. Startling musician.
Zimmer is awesome. I recently re-listened to the score from 'Hannibal' and the opera piece that he wrote for the film 'Vide Cor Meum' is perfection.
