  1. I'd completely forgotten about Horodecki/Lierley.  That was a great fight.

The IFL did air on ITV4 towards the end of 2007, although without checking I've no idea how up to date the shows were.  My hunch is not very and it only lasted six weeks at most, if that (I've only got four shows that I recorded and back then I was recording and trading for any and all MMA I could find).

Yeah I did the same with The Wire. Once you kind of get the lingo you can sit back and properly enjoy it. Don't listen to anyone telling you that season 2 is weak either, it's great and has some of my favourite stuff in it.

Omar in the docks giving evidence is pure gold!  Also Bunk trying knock to be sick in Daniel's office after he'd been on the piss with McNulty the night before.

I finished disc 3 of Season 2 last night, was shocked as anything when DeAngelo got killed and that Stringer was the one who orchestrated.  There's no way that one isn't coming back to haunt him somewhere down the line.  Good to see Daniels, Greggs, Freamon, Prez etc all back together.  Enjoying Holly Flax in there too, hopefully she sticks around after this season.

What about a TUF Mount Rushmore? Strangebrew, Wayne Weems, Andy Wang, Junie Browning, Titties, Big Baby, Luke Cummo. Spoilt for choice.

And Ross "I'm a fookin' Gladiator me" Pointon.

Says everything about that show how the names we all remember (and I bet we could all rack off dozens more too) are all from the first ten seasons.

I had no idea Mo Chatra had a bee in his bonnet about Lister. That was hilarious.

I remember when Mo was the UK distributor for the Observer, so this is the late 90s.  He would add "Mo's Notes" at the end or on an additional page and the two things that always stand out were him claiming his improved physique "was the talk of the boys in the locker room" (I think he was only a referee) on one show and him regularly commenting on what a ladies man he was.  I never knew the guy outside of getting the newsletter through him but I felt he came off like a right bragadocious tit with some of the stuff he would write.

Happ Hazzard still posts as @Daily Buzzard

Wasn't he SharkWrestling too back in the day?  Or that may have just been his DVD trading name.  One of the first people I ever bought DVDs off probably around 2004/5.

I knew he came back under a new name but couldn't remember what it was.  He still posts on the Wrestling Classics message boards under the Happ Hazard handle..

Funny thing, I was just thinking about you as Summerslam1990 was mentioned in paid and I remembered his reign of terror on PWO under a different name for a bit incessantly going on about his tapes and he was doing our head in.

I think that may have been Iamthedoctor aka Steven1977uk2002.  Doctor was another tape guy, had an almighty collection of VHS and would often post pictures of his collection.  He absolutely terrorized PWO for a period of time.

  7. Live2WinForever aka Gimmick4Life and various other multiples.  A complete fruit loop who would threaten violence at anyone who would dare besmirch his beloved KISS.  I do remember on one instance him threatening to shove a "fish" down someones throat (which was a typo he meant fist).   I've tried searching for some of his posts but no look sadly, although did come up with a thread.  Where he's returned under another name, posted pictures of someone's video collection he's found online and is trying to pass them off as his own to scam people.

I've seen a few tweets about Shamrock's book getting quite a bit of praise lately, I'm assuming it's more focused on his MMA career though. I think I might get it when spare cash becomes a thing again

Meltzer was comparing it with the Pillman and Andre book in this week;s Observer as in the best of the best when it comes to wrestling biographies.  Snowden's books in the past have always been incredibly well researched so I can't imagine how this one would be any different.

I don't know if you own this physically, but the OSW guys were recently looking for a copy to buy/borrow if you're done with it.

Unless they're looking for an actual physical copy, you can find a pdf version on a certain well known torrent site.

Wow that's a steal. I can only find single seasons for that amount. The full box set is around 45 quid mostly.

I only saw it the day the auction was about to end.  The seller's starting price was £4.50 and I was amazed that it had no bids at that price, especially as everything looked to be in very good nick.  Sent a best offer of £4 to her fully expecting her to make me a counter offer at least but she accepted straight away.  Couldn't believe I snagged it so cheap.

This probably amounts to sacrilege around here, but I started watching The Wire for the first time a couple of weeks ago.  It took a bit of getting into with so many characters being introduced and by the third episode, when I was getting into it, decided to rewatch the first two to try and make things clearer.  I know it gets a lot of "best TV show ever" praise, and while I don't know about that at the moment, it is very, very good.  It's something that I can definitely see me rewatching down the line and then picking out things I missed first time around in the rewatch.  Just the final disc of the first season left to watch which I should finish up this evening.

After finishing the final two episodes last night I've got no problems now calling it excellent and they may have been my two favourite episodes the way things were tied up, the story going full circle from the very first seen where DeAngelo was acquitted, things carrying on in 'the pit' just with a new crew and the detail being despatched and heading off in different directions.

I wasn't expecting Wallace to be gunned down like that, I was sure Poot was going to help him.  Like when Greggs got shot a few episodes earlier, caught me completely out of the blue.  Only a small detail but it showed how out of touch Burrell is when he's wanting to shut down the detail and slowly pull people out of there.  He starts talking about Freamon and Prez, the former always a good cop just down in the pawn shop, the latter who's come into his own, and you see Daniels fearing he's taking two of his best men, then Burrell tells him he can keep them and he's pulling out Santangelo (poor cop, only there to stooge on McNulty) and Sidner (highly thought of but didn't really do much after initial undercover work). Oh yeah, I was shocked DeAngelo ended up getting sent down, doing an about turn once his mother visited him.

Can't wait to start season two tonight.

Samuel L Jackson is 71. Fucking hell!

Talking of ages I've started to watch the Derry Girls repeats on E4 for the first time.  I recognised the guy who plays James as being in Hollyoaks about a decade ago, so knew he had to be pushing thirty playing this school kld, however on reading more about the show online I was then shocked to discover that the girls playing Michelle and Clare are both 33 in real life.
