  1. I understand your point, I just find a bit of a white noise effect from individuals/promotions that are promoting themselves every second and hyping every movement as the biggest thing in history. None of it registers, I end up not looking at any of it. I know I'm not the only one either.

  2. I accept the points above, but equally, surely it's the job of a journalist to investigate what is good out there. The offer to have writers in various counties is a positive step. And I hold my hands up about my suggestion of paid coverage, that was obviously ignorance on my part. Thanks for clearing that up.

But, equally, the UK scene shouldn't have to be one of relentless self-promoting.

  3. It always seems to be the same core of promotions getting coverage at present but I think what they offer is far better than anything UK related they or others have done before. Maybe its because those companies are being more pro active in getting the coverage but it often feels more like its who you know when I see who is getting the spotlight. Again, that is more of an observation than a knock as I think the amount of UK coverage is refreshing and the one to watch piece is always enjoyable and excellent PR for UK guys

Had the exact same discussion with someone the other day.

It does seem that unless you are in a certain group then you don't get a look in!

Oh, 100%. But then don't some promotions pay to advertise with them? I'm sure that certain ones have a deal with FSM, regarding coverage. Which is fair enough I guess, magazines aren't democracies. But it would be nice to see coverage of guys not affiliated with the large umbrella group. Especially when a few of them are bloody good and a breath of fresh air.

  4. To be fair, that is a slightly unrepresentative edition of Raw. It was the one where the gimmick was that the referees were on strike, so they had a bunch of scab refs (Tom Prichard, Steve Lombardi etc) who weren't taking any shit and thus DQing people.

That's possibly my favourite minor angle from the Attitude era. Prichard's blue tracksuit bottoms just added to it.

  5. When I were a lad and first noticing the word in the first issues of Power Slam, I always thought to "turn heel" meant to literally turn and change the direction you were heading in, an attitude change. That's how I justified it to myself anyway. Babyface was pretty self-explanatory. Who could hate a babyface? ;-)

  6. When was Taz's last TV match? Other than the One Night Stand choke.

A quick scan of the Graham Cawthorn site suggests a losing effort on Jakked against The Godfather, from the same TV taping that Hulk Hogan defended the Undisputed title against Chris Jericho.

  7. Hey guys wonder if you can help me and my gf. My GF is from Dartford and we were wondering if after the end of RQW's run of tapings at the Mick Jagger Centre whether any other promotion has run out of that building or is planning to? We know about All Star at the Woodville Halls (sp?) in Gravesend is that still the nearest apart from IPW:UK?

From what I know the Mick Jagger Centre won't have wrestling back as a previous promotion damaged the centre and didn't pay for repairs.

I heard that during refurbishments they decided to paint it black
