To be fair it is also her name... So easy mistake to make!

Yeah, I didn’t realise it was a Marilyn Manson/Alice Cooper type deal. Or the first two PJ Harvey albums.

"Died in Peru by King Coconut" is very Peel.

You know who is from deepest darkest Peru? Suddenly those grim reaper memes makes sense

He actively annoyed me. I'm glad he's gone and only regret it not being Vine.

This reminded me of your tribute to John Peel when you said you were happy he died in Peru so his family had the added stress of getting his body home.

The band Doves of Pounding and Black & White Town fame were previously Sub Sub who reached number 3 in 1993 with Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use).

I remember some interviewer tried to embarrass them with this and Jimi shut them down by saying it’s a brilliant song and it paid for their studio.

Not to be too Lance Storm about it, but I was never really a fan, I found him and the posse pretty irritating, but there's no denying he was a colossal presence and influence on British radio. What a shocker.

He was way more suited to R2 for my money, he copied loads of American DJs and their style when he was on R1 and it was pretty forced. Plus if it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have that Arnie And The Terminators novelty record.

  6. Steve Wright has died. Bloody hell. He was a constant presence on the radio. His afternoon show was always pleasant fodder.

I would watch a full series of Dyche going around trying curries in the same sort of style as the Tucci's trips around Italy.

Absolutely. Imagine him going round India instead of the fish ponce. It would be fucking gold!!

  8. There was one that wasted MY time that might have been a time waster for someone else. I worked in a store that sold beds and some prick would always phone up taking the piss. Sometimes I couldn’t make it to the phone in time though and that was even worse.

They immediately called the police to come and get it, but the police just said 'bring it in to station that will be fine" which seems an uncharacteristically laissez-faire attitude to firearms but I suppose South Yorkshire police are not known for their professionalism.

Jesus! Unless the law has changed it’s also an offence. Someone near me found a sawn off shotgun in a bag and assumed it had been used in a recent post office robbery. Plod thanked him for the break in the case and then nicked him for possession of a firearm!

I'm not sure I agree that Israel wouldn't still be doing what they are doing (after all, they have fought the Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank and southern Lebanon long before the Iron Dome existed)

Same here, they’ve been butchering and murdering before 2011 or when it became operational. Chest does make a good point about modern warfare changing the landscape and if it enables genocide. For me, it saves innocent lives and that’s never anything but good. As I said, I wish the Palestinians had one too and I can’t imagine anyone would wish Israel didn’t have it

I saw someone say yesterday that Jeremy Corbyn is a zionist as he advocates for the same thing that a zionist does, a two state solution.

I can't quite get my head round this.

Do you remember when Ken Livingstone was expelled from Labour for saying Hitler was a Zionist? Livingstone’s reasoning was Hitler wanted Jews to have their own land so they wouldn’t be in his.
