Does anybody know what the pay was like for this stuff in Japan in its FMW heyday? Does Foley mention what he got paid for doing that stuff? The crowds they got were pretty fantastic so I would imagine the payouts would have reflected that to a certain extent.

 

IIRC, Foley was quite critical (and rightly so) of his payday for the King of the Deathmatch tournament in 1995. In that one night, he wrestled three matches in which he was thrown into barbed wire, blown up and had thumbtacks embedded into his face and neck. He was paid either $300 or $500 (I forget which) for all that.

 

That was just one night though. I'd imagine his payoff's for FMW were a lot better than that.

I'm going to take advantage of this though and ask has anyone ever read Arn Anderson's book?

Yeah - its an ok read, written a bit "keyfabe' and could probably read it in a couple of hours but its a decent book. Wanna buy my copy????

Surprised it took so long for Dynamite's book to come up, cracking read but you do get the impression he thinks he was the toughest guy in the world.

High recommendation for "The Wrestling" fantastic book about the British scene and interesting to see how the "WOSers" viewed the industry then and now

Also if you want a quick read Arn Anderson's book is easy to read but ok

My advice on getting your money back would be that if you bought your tickets with a credit card from 1up/1pw and you have insurance, get them to get your money back for you. It is what I have just done. HSBC don't fuck about.

Suppose i've learnt one lesson and that buy from the arena in future not the promoter where possible

I work round the corner from the insolvers so nipped out for 5 min and managed to grab a minute with the man. He has advised that you email with the details of outstanding tickets and your details to the hotmail address.

I have contacted the doncaster dome and they will be refunding tickets that were purchased from their box office.The commercial guy at the dome is out until monday so god knows what will happen with regard to tickets purchased from 1UP Games.Has 1UP Games gone into liquidation as well (there is no answer on the telephone) as the statement only says 1PW? if not then surely they are responsible for refund.Question, would the fans who have purchased tickets but dont use the web have been informed or would they have made the trip to find the doors shut??Can anyone please post a link to the 1PW as whenever i try it from work I get a "file not found" message.
