Haven't watched the match yet, although it has been posted in full by Impact, but for those who are waiting for the UK airing here's a couple of pretty good preview vids:

Just watched the match. Disappointing apart from one homage. Certainly not a "barbed wire massacre"

is that hornswoggle at around the 4 min mark

Gama looks like Bully Busick without the hat and cigar.Â

There is little to gain for the big indies to unite in that way. Just makes there champion look less than the nwa champion.
Sorry but disagree. The model in the 80's of the NWA or AWA champion touring the promotions helped the local promotions by giving an increase in attendance when the champion was in town plus it helped elevate the regional champion as they inevitably went close to beating the world champion. This increases the local viewpoint that their champion was good enough to be the world champion and potentially drawing in casual viewers who may have seen the world champion on other promotions.

If I remember correctly, Raven bought out his own contract to skirt the clause, rather than it being optional. WWE contracts are dodgy as fuck anyway, though - wasn't Lesnar's no compete clause originally something like 20 years before he challenged it in court, and Alberto Del Rio more or less ignored his after his first release and WWE never challenged it.
Lesners no compete was up to 2010 when he originally left. got overturned in 2005

I find botchamania hard to watch now with the small screen. Understand the reasons why but it makes it harder.
Also find that a lot of the stuff aren't really botches now. Would be better if they weren't so regular and contained better stuff

I was so hoping for Rohit to come in at the end of that vid

So technically could work an angle with Ellsworth starting to think that he won the briefcase?
Â

Not seen the show but interepting the posts here that Ellsworth got the case and handed it to her?

Match of the year from Zeus and Abby with commentary that would make Gordon Solie shake in fear for his job

He was made to come back early according to an interview he did with PS. Spun it that he wasn't ready to come back but "his agent" had agreed with Vince that he was good to go.

What always surprises me is when I see those old Coliseum Video advertisements in WWF magazine from the 80s. A videocassette of a WWF PPV in 1988/1989 cost $ 39,95 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Â
Even in 2017 that is a LOT of money for a dvd, let alone thinking about how much it must have been back in the 80s. How can this be justified?
Ive got an old PWI from around the time of WM7 and it was on about cost of PPV's. Some companies wanted nearly $70 for WM7 to watch it. Crazy figures

Has it been discussed how weird that Fastlane main event feels whenever they show the graphic of Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens? That pairing feels so crazy. Even a few years ago you would have never imagined that Kevin Steen and Goldberg would be headlining a WWE pay per view for the title.
Â
It's a contender for the maddest match they've ever booked. I am struggling to think of anything that even compares. CM Punk vs Kevin Nash was similar but it wasn't the main event, wasn't for the title, Nash hadn't been out in the cold as long as Goldberg has and Punk was always more fancied to become a WWE star than Kevin Steen.
Â
Cena vs R Truth for the title in a PPV?
-
Genuinely thankful for the recommendations (especially as the Network search function seems a bit wank).
Â
Ended up watching Anderson/Flair vs Doom w/ Teddy Long which turned out to be a fun little tag ending in a double count-out brawl. Ron Simmons was an absolute beast back then.
if you liked that then check out the Anderson/Windham vs Doom street fight from Starrcade 90. short but brilliant

Just look at him, he's in fantastic shape. How old is he now? Looks as though he can still go.

Heyman or possibly Dreamer for the Dudleys. Outside bet of Edge or Christian as they are most associated with them in the WWE. Ivory will prob be Steph or maybe Trish. Wasn't she onscreen with Mark Henry for a while? (edit - just seen Riddum suggesting Henry)
For Jarrett the obvious one for me would be Lawler given the history of them or Robert Fuller but it will prob be Road Dogg (I'd mark like a teacher if they brought out Bill Dundee for it). Cant imagine them having AJ do it as they would have to reference TNA.Â
