Flair's retirement is absolutely it.

So, unconvincing stuff from England yesterday. Monye had a shocker, and Haskell didn't look great. One the plus side, the try was well-finished, Wilkinson was pretty sharp until he started missing kicks, and Moody was a very deserving MOTM, but overall it really wasn't good enough and we might not have even got the win had Rodriguez been more consistent with his kicks. Need to step it up considerably for New Zealand next week if we're going to do anything other than lose embarrassingly.

I was watching WWE Insurrextion from 2002 the other day.
Why is the NWO music edited out when on other PPV's DVD's it is on unedited? I'm guessing copywrite but why just block it for one PPV.
Â
It's also edited out from Rock vs Hogan on the "Most Electrifying Man..." set, so it's not just the one. They may have had temporary rights to it which expired at some point.

Does anyone know if the Hamburg catch tournament, as described in Chris Jericho's book, is still going? Further details would be massively appreciated.
Â
Pretty certain it's not. As I remember it, Wanz stopped way back. Whoever was doing the tournaments in Bremen ran a few years longer but stopped around about the start of this decade and got into MMA.
Â
Thanks for that. I was pretty sure it would've stopped but I wanted to make sure. On the off-chance it was still going, it would have made a hell of a bonus for a trip to see St Pauli play, and potentially bumping into Drew McDonald in the Reeperbahn sounds as brilliant as it does terrifying.

The squatting and hemp-growing is probably the sanest thing he's done when you take away the saving-the-world stuff and the drag. I like to imagine that the people he's squatting with pretend to take him seriously, then rip the piss out of him when he's not around.

When exactly did Chris Jericho first turn face in WWF and what was the story?
-
Who'd have thought a worked MMA match would go down so badly? Styles/Trigg by a country mile.
-
On the run-down of the rumoured Doctors on the news beforehand, Matt Smith was the only one to whom my reaction was "Hm, that could work". I'm cautiously optimistic.

Jeff Hardy in WWE
Martin Stone in IPW:UK
Robbie Brookside in All-Star

All three are untouchable in terms of how over they are in the promotions mentioned.
-
Miz & Morrison. Consistently glorious in pretty much everything they do.
Â
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. Split too soon. That first promo from the Raw after Night of Champions, whilst overshadowed by the rest of the show, set the tone for a superb title reign.
-
Chris Jericho - nobody's put on such consistently great performances. Everything in his heel run, in particular, has been quality.
Â
Evan Bourne - just vanilla enough as an indy darling for WWE to sign him, he's now shining in an environment where he's doing something different.

John Cena vs Batista - WWE Summerslam
Triple H vs Jeff Hardy - WWE No Mercy
KENTA & Taiji Ishimori vs Bryan Danielson & Eddie Edwards - Pro Wrestling NOAH European Navigation '08

Info on Brookside's school, c+p'd from the website:Robbie BrooksideInstructor / Coach: WrestlingLocation: Urban Martial Arts HQ, St John Street, Leicester LE1 3WLTel: (0116) 253 8668Email: wrestling@urbanmartialarts.comWeb: www.wrestleicester.comI trained there myself for a good while before giving up due to not being able to hack it physically. It's a quality school, Brookside is an excellent teacher and has superb connections. Recently his standout trainees (who he's been training for 2 years or more now) have been featured on Premier Promotions shows.Either didn't know, or had forgotten about, Brookside's.I shall look into both, thank you very much for the information. Finding one in Leicester would be splendid, and could perhaps mean I could start earlier. Which would be fun.

"Ready to Roll" by Jet Black Stare. What is the name of the song that was used as the theme tune for last night's Summerslam? Thanks.

That's a bit of a twist on what I said. I said I don't dislike Blokbusta, and I don't like Shawn Michaels, both within the context of where they wrestle. Obviousy a guy who's been WWE Champion is going to be better than a UK indy worker who some people like and lots of people don't.Maybe you should have. Afterall you think BlockBusta is better than Shawn Michaels. Maybe you could find something entertaining to do with him.

I'm just playing devil's advocate. I didn't book it.
What kind of a shitarse excuse is that?THe match was BOOKED...are you kidding me? You mean some mark backstage said "oh shit wrestler A is late, hey you two...go on for me will ya"Shitarsery personified! The match was booked about 5 minutes before it happened due to some no-shows. Both guys kind of phoned it in a bit, and it wasn't the best, but it's still worth a few laughs, which was quite obviously the intention.
