  1. well thanks for that insightful look at his wrestling skills, so how many times have you watched him wrestle out of interest?

Off the top of my head, four times. One match (vs Stixx) was decent but he was totally carried for all of it. The other 3 were dreadful in completely different ways each time. You want insight? Fine, he's sloppy as hell and has no idea how to pace or structure a match so the crowd can get into it, and that's when he's wrestling as "Generic Man" MTX (which, fellow shitarse enthusiasts, I'm told stands for "Mister Total Xtreme"). When he's Mikey the Pikey, he puts together comedy matches that nobody laughs at because they're genuinely awful, and as Alex mentioned, the gimmick is downright offensive, playing off shit Irish stereotypes and by its very nature guaranteeing that he can't have a good match under it.
  2. Those kids in ROH will be in wheelchairs by the time they're 40.

Damn right! Ah, back in my day kid, we had 'em hanging from the rafters! Never even had to take a bump. No psychology, that's the trouble. Bring back kayfabe! Etc
Yes, nowadays people are ashamed of kayfabe and find it laughable when people try to keep it. Tazz was criticized for believing his character too much, i'm sure I heard a story about Jim Cornette not letting people walk on the same side of the road or something, that's how it should be but the ECW generation has devoured kayfabe.
Yeah, this has been argued to death, and pretty much every rational person came to the conclusion that it's not the job of the fans to protect kayfabe. This has become an enjoyable, friendly discussion thread, don't turn it into a redunant argument where nobody will change their minds and everyone will repeat the same points over and over.Sorry to mini-mod, I just don't want this thread to be dragged off-topic into irrelevant rhetoric.
The fans should be exactly that-fans, not pretend insiders.
Well, like it or not, you can't tell people how they're "supposed" to enjoy something. The things you don't like about modern wrestling are as much a fault of the business as the fans, and the fans shouldn't be blamed for having an appetite for insider knowledge. Anyway, like I said, this is off-topic and has been argued to death, so if all you're intending to do is complain about an issue that's only loosely connected to Ring of Honor, please get out of this thread. No offence intended, it's just that you're really detracting from an otherwise interesting topic.

  4. Yes, because now people can actually get the joke. :)I'm actually surprised Jonny came in so high. Nothing against the guy, I just assumed his time as a guy who'd place highly in this kind of thing had passed.

  5. Oh, is that what you're all talking about...? OK, here's the story:In the winter of 2005, at either the last MPW or first LPW show in Syston, Leicestershire, Mad Mike was in the ring posing for photographs. G-Man, who had been feuding with Mike but wasn't booked on the card, had come along as part of his birthday celebrations, and was getting hideously drunk.Come interval time, he came up and started talking to a few of us, and he suggested getting into the ring and paying for a photo with his arch-rival at the time. We did nothing to discourage this. After the photo, G-Man took the mic and proceeded to cut a promo on Mike saying he'd be NBW Ironman Champion again, and held up the queue of children after photos. It was very funny.G-Man hasn't been used in LPW since.

Actually, it was some time before that, as I was at both those shows. I'm not even sure it was at Syston.
  6. Considering I've not seen any ROH since 2005, I've noticed they've got a bit of a sale on the site, I'm just wondering what the best 5 shows are from 2006? I'd appreciate some help ~ Many thanks.

I've not seen much from 2006 myself, but I'd strongly reccomend Unified (Liverpool, with Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuinness to unify the World and Pure titles) and Glory By Honor V Night 2 (with Danielson vs KENTA for the world title, McGuinness vs Naomichi Marafuji for the GHC world title and a lot of other really good stuff).
