  1. Shit, things are bad in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. Best wishes to all those up there and everywhere else.

London seems a lot saner tonight. Few local incidents in Brentford and Hayes means 3 police helicopters are circling the area nosily.

Any news on the cop? Shit really could hit the fan if that proves to be fatal. (hopefully not though)

  2. I hope that Sky News reporter is okay, that was a terrifying scene.

What happened? Don't have sky news on at the moment but their coverage has been class for the last couple of nights.

  3. It's a tough subject though really. I mean I'm not saying it's right for racism or any race-based namecalling to start happening, but I'll be curious to see how it's handled, or if it's even brough up that the looters are mainly ethnic minorities. Even just pointing it out could cause a load of shit.

Well, I can only speak for a couple of people I work with, but they came into work and were talking about the "fucking wogs", "fucking koons" messing up the city and I've never heard either of them speak like that before. Obviously there is a lot of anger at the moment but who knows whether it'll turn into violence in the next few weeks? (People in general, not the 2 people I was speaking about).

I can imagine Nick Griffin is rubbing his hands and just biding his time before coming out and speaking about the troubles.

  4. Sikhs doing the same in Southall as well. Got to give them credit. Last night Turkish, Persian and Greek restaurant owners in West Ealing chased off a load of the cunts with meat cleavers and the like.

  5. The thing is though, while there are white people involved, the majority seen on the news and in papers are black or asian. I'm not saying it is mainly them as nobody knows, but that's the images people are seeing and it'll no doubt kick some stuff off.

In London it is safe to say it was mainly them for the first couple of nights as Tottenham, Brixton and Hackney are made up mostly of ethnic minorities. It'd be stupid to think there are no white hood rats joining in the "fun" though.

I will say when I walked down to Ealing last night they were mostly black and most videos taken from there back this up despite Ealing not being as ethnically diverse as most of the other places.

  6. Duggan family dont condone the violence so hopefully these idiots will hopefully stop now.

Don't think they care about the Duggan family. It stopped being about them on Saturday night.

  7. 2 hours sleep, my street seems to have avoided any kind of damage. From the sounds of it Ealing looks like a bomb site, just wish they'd taken out the train station so I could have had the day off.

Craziest night I've seen in a long while, hopefully they have got it out of their system now and it calms down. I'd imagine there'll be a fair bit of vigilante justice dished out in the next week or so if the people involved fail to keep it to themselves.

  8. close your eyes and pick a spot in London and something seems to be going on? Must be every single 13-25 year old out tonight from the sounds of it. Absolute madness. Don't want to sleep in case I miss anything.

  9. Then what Rick said, stay in.

Yeah, that is my curiosity settled. Fucking madness though. The police were outnumbered 20/1 at least. They are powerless and most of these guys will be getting away with it. Made it hit home a bit and I got quite emotional even though Ealing is a dump.

  10. Got a quiet back street nearby that doesn't lead anywhere you can move it to?

My street is normally quiet. Scary thing is the hatred that was in everyone's eyes. Not towards me or even the police, just in general.

  11. Ealing Broadway shopping center is on fire. Went for a walk down there and it is absolute chaos. I'm worried about the car being set on fire now. Madness.

  12. What we can do is look at the reasons it all kicked off and try to do something to avoid it happening again.

Or we can simply go down the route of ignoring the cause and just concentrate on the results.

Because it's fun for them. Over analyze it all you like but that's the answer.

  13. Some tweets..

muskhalili mustafa khalili 100's of turkish men chasing a group of young black men down kingsland rd #hackney incredible scene

PaulLewis Paul Lewis Kingsland Road chaotic as Turkish men attack other, predominantly black, youths with sticks, metal barricades and bricks. #hackney

PaulLewis Paul Lewis Violent clashes now on Kingsland Road, Hackney, as hundreds of Turkish men attack others youths #hackney

On BBC - Armani shop looted in B'ham

oooo if they've pissed off the Turks then I reckon the hood rats have bit off more than they can chew.

  14. Ealing in west london is under attack now. H Samuel been looted and a shop (not sure which) is said to be on fire. 10 mins from my house so a bit too close to comfort.

  15. It may be bad just now, but I guarantee that if the police get heavy-handed and some youngster gets killed or something it'll get even worse.

Yeah I know, it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation but the police are losing this battle and I don't think Camerons COBRA meeting will change anything.

  16. I mentioned a few pages back. Someone needs to directly communicate with the people involved in the rioting. There has to be an appeal for calm. If they have legitimate grievances they need to be aired. Treating them as merely 'mindless thugs' will not do anything to help.

You did. But you seem like a bright person, who would you talk to to calm them down? Surely you can see they have no respect for anyone? These guys can't be reasoned with. I think it's gone way beyond that. It needed someone like Rio 'brap brap' Ferdinand to speak to them and ask them to stop. I think it's gotten too far out of hand for words.

  17. I saw that. The same bloke said the police strategy was to 'move them around the city as quickly as possible'.

Do they not understand how fucking furious this is making the decent people who are watching this? They are basically sending a message to a whole generation of scum that they can do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it.

I hate to say this, but if the police continue to be impotent throughout this, it will be a PR wankfest for groups like the EDL.

Exactly. Nick Griffin will be rubbing his hands at this. Give it a week and he'll start piping up again.

  18. Yeah give them hugs all round. Whatever mate, you know what I'm saying. Answering violence with more violence isn't always the best approach.

well I'll ask you again, if it was down to you what would be done right now Last time you said "find the root of the problem" (paraphrasing) which is all well and good once this is over, but what would you do now to calm this down?

  19. Yep. Hence why challenging them with armed police and/or the army is probably not the best idea.

So lets just let them carry on. We'll mollycoddle the poor misunderstood mites afterwards.

It seems someone on the BBC said the army won't be brought in.

  20. Starting to hear sirens around the Shepherds Bush area now. Hopefully they're off to other areas and it isn't coming too close to home.

Get the feeling this will only end when they get bored.

  21. Hang on you missed this.

He did give a vague answer still towing the "find out who is responsible" line.

    Action first, ask questions after.

David Cameron is flying back to save the day!
