Don't think I'd agree with the bit in bold. As good as Khan is (and I think he has the potential to be great) Naz was a special fighter and could have gone on to greatness if he 'd have stayed focused.Steve Bunce actually called him the greatest British boxer of all time. Whether you'd agree with that or not is up to you but no one would even consider Khan at that level.

Finally a good episode in the third season of Eastbound and Down.

 

If that's the case it may be wise to go for Luke Donald as he has possibly the best short game in golf at the moment. I've done 3 e/w bets for Adam Scott, Justin Rose and K.J Choi at Paddy Power. If Tiger wins (which I really hope he does) then they refund losing bets which is nice.

Started watching Alcatraz on Watch the last couple of weeks. Quite enjoyed the first couple of episodes so downloaded the series. So far I'm 5 episodes in and it seems crap. It's exactly the same premise every single week, the exposition from the characters is stupid, the acting isn't great and I;m pretty certain the end result is either cryogenic freezing or aliens.

 

On the plus side I have a new crush, Sarah Jones who plays the lead character is lovely.

Resurrection isn't good but not as bad as people make out I think.

I was supposed to go to a midnight screening of Alien last month, but it clashed with something, so I ended up introducing my girlfriend to the series by means of DVD. Even she couldn't bare more than 20 minutes of Resurrection. It really is utter, utter wank and completely devoid of anything worthwhile.

 

 

Oh don't get me wrong it's not good and I'll almost certainly never watch it again but I was expecting one of the worst films ever made and got something that was quite fun and very dumb. The hybrid alien thing did look hilarious though!

 

Watched a documentary on the Alien franchise and it's amazing the problems Alien 3 had to the point that David Fincher has disowned it.

I only got round to watching the Aliens quadrilogy a week ago (entirely due to the Top 50 list on here) and have to say that Alien is ever so slighly better than Aliens. Alien 3 wasn't helped by crap CGI and Resurrection isn't good but not as bad as people make out I think.

 

Also got round to watching Drive. It's a lovely looking movie, well acted by everyone involved and that soundtrack is sexual.

Have the Shaftas happened yet? If so who won what? And are there any new talents we should be keeping our eyes out for?

Why? Just an inspiration. To do what he does at his age and be better than most guys half his age is just phenomenal.

Did you like him? Love him. My all time favorite.

Why? A short, fat, emotionless Russian who is an absolute killer. When he was ruling MMA he was just spectacular. The way he'd dominate Nog on the ground or beat up Cro Cop standing up was shocking. His fights were never dull and the guy is just the greatest MMA fighter of all time (Screw Anderson ). Admittedly, his Strikeforce run was a disaster but I attribute that to him just not giving a shit anymore, getting paid a shitload and swinging for the fences. The Fedor who owned Nog (in the 3rd fight) and Cro Cop would never have been tagged by Hendo or Big Foot and he wouldn't have been stupid enough to hang around in Werdums guard. Excuses I know but I'm an admitted Fedor Fanboy

Did you like him? Yes.

Why? Bit like Randy, he's like everyones favorite uncle. May well be the most durable fighter in MMA. Cro Cop, Fedor, Sapp, Sergei, a truck knocked him down but couldn't keep him down. Age and wear and tear have obviously helped him deteriorate but has been involved in some of the most iconic fights in history.

Would you have paid your money to see him? yes.

Is he the best ever at his Weightclass? Number 2.

Did you like him? He seems like a nice guy.

Why? At the time was a great advert for BJJ and didn't need to talk about a 400-0 record to do it, although his Pride run of only fighting under special rules didn't work out too well for him.

Would you have paid your money to see him? No as he'd be too one dimensional. Same reason I wouldn't pay to watch Demian Maia.

Is he the best ever at his Weightclass? No.

Get the 2005 middleweight GP. It has plenty of quality fights, the best MMA fight of all time (in my opinion) Shogun/Nogueira, and Fedor/Cro Cop.

The Shockwaves are also worth a view. There are some dire matches on them but some golden ones also: Wandy/Hunt, Fedor/Nog 3 from 2004 are awesome.

Pride 25 has Anderson Silva/Carlos Newton, Rampage/Randleman and Fedor/Nog 1.

 

Need to dig out a few Fedor fights from before 2010 after posting that.

Speaking of Diaz, I was watching Knight and Day earlier and she's looking hot in that too, as is Tom Cruise. They both look like they're having fun filming and as a result I found the film a blast and is a great way to relax for an hour and a half.

 

A complaint would be the action scenes go on too long and can be a bit too OTT and there is a bit too much CGI.

 

Oh, and I the only one who thinks Tom Cruise is over looked as a good actor? I find myself enjoying almost every film he is in. Maybe it is because he has a higher midichlorian count than anyone else and is effectively a God amongst men?

Here's a link to the 3rd episode of Mayweather Vs Ortiz 24/7 which was aired last night on HBO in the States. I recommend watching it at the first opportunity because HBO are shit hot at shutting these things down.

 

Another interesting episode and some good footage. One thing I will say about this episode, is that even though Floyd has always played up to that bad guy Money May character, I've never really been bothered about the things he does, such as burning $100 bills in nightclubs and walking around with stacks of cash. However, it's getting old now and is in incredibly poor taste considering how bad things are financially for most in America right now. As if that wasn't enough, Floyd has really out-done himself this time, when during a Skype call with a group of US soldiers currently in Afghanistan, he got his trademark massive stacks of cash out and was showing it to the soldiers, and then showed off all of his massive luxury possesions like multiple walk in cupboards which really are bigger than the flat in which I currently live. He also showed them his car collection which is valued at over $4million, among other things. When one of the soldierss asked him what his motivation is, of course he said it was the money, and it was at that point which he started stacking up those piles of cash for the soldiers to see, and perhaps the worst thing he said was something like ; "Ortiz shouldn't complain, he's getting his biggest ever payday at $2.5million, but that's just the value of my shoe collection right there. I don't fuck with two's and three's, I'm getting me no less than $15 million".

 

I know he's playing it up, but that's taking the piss. Especially in that situation.

Yeah that seemed a step too far even for the Money Mayweather character. It was really funny when the connection was lost and he was walking round the mansion trying to get it back. I'd love it if the soldiers got sick of the money flashing and they just disconnected the skype conversation.

 

On the plus side, at least there was no 50 Cent in this episode.

Personally, I'd guess it's the former. The police would still be outnumbered and it's not like much notice was being taken of them by the animals to be honest.
