Fans shouldn't be near the HoF event. Do you get that in any other industry (hall of fame events, awards nights etc)? It's just industry members/affiliates surely. But Vince sees the commercial value in it now so I doubt will go back to how it was.

I know my boss paid for a table at the SPOTY when it was in Liverpool and he has no affiliation to any sport or sportsman.

Read all the Asterix books when I was a kid, absolutely loved them. What a body of work he's left behind.

If you like Asterix go to Parc Asterix near Paris. I absolutely loved it. Got to meet Asterix, Obelix, Cheif Vitalstatistix and many others as well as visiting the Gaulish village.  There are many excellent rides there too but it was busy and I didn't do any but still had an amazing time!

  3. All working now. Signed up on my phone and downloaded the app to the smart TV. Bit of XMen methinks before I pop into work, make sure everything is ok, get some snacks on the way home and go on furlough for the foreseeable.

This should keep the bin lids and me entertained for a while.

Not sure of the best place to post this, so repost elsewhere if appopriate. Sky is letting people pause payments on Sky Sports until live sport returns, but still be able to access the channels:

Have you seen some of the things ESPN having been putting on in the the States?  Stone Skipping and Golden Tee world championships??

Not something I learned today, but something I told my nephew and he couldn’t quite comprehend it so here goes.

Stegosaurus and Triceratops are two of the most commonly depicted dinosaurs. However, they never met. In fact, the gap between them is around 87 million years. That’s 19 million years more than the gap between Triceratops and now.

If you look at any children’s book, jigsaw or poster, Stegosaurus and Triceratops are often seen happily sharing the same space. Maybe that’s why people generally assume all dinosaurs were alive at the same point, and that they all died 68 million years ago.

Also there is a current hypothesis that the Triceratops as we all imagine may not actually have existed at all and was instead a juvenile of another species.

  6. And anyway doesn't the whole "has kids that they don't know about" only work on the male side?  I'm no expert in the female body (ask my wife, chortle chortle) but having kid is something that I would have though most women would at least be a little bit aware of?

I actually think you can make a very good case for Minecraft given it's longevity and cultural impact but that list should just be titled "50 games that two people like."

But why Minecraft rather than Roblox?  Marketing?

This has never occurred to me before, but the word "Papa" in this song is really annoying. Who the hell says "Papa" who isn't Latino?

I used to call one of my Grandads (who was Scottish) Papa and neither me nor my sisters are Latino.

  9. Salt and Vinegar Discos, only today i bought a multi pack of which the Prawn Cocktail and Cheese and Onion will sit in a cupboard until they go off or I get desperate (more likely the former).  The Salt and Vinegar ones are already in my belly (one didn't even survive the car journey home).

  10. If didn't have two kids who are too inconsiderate to be old enough to watch films I want to watch I'd get one too. I think it's great value two visits would normally get your money's worth.

Just had the pleasure of an evening out at Arcade Club Leeds. Very nice place. Some of the Japanese machines are a little difficult to decipher. There was a Guitar game that took a while to figure out. The place is set over three levels. All sorts of games on level 1. Retro games on Level 2, completed Double Dragon with the Mrs. She had great fun reminiscing by playing Paperboy.

Level 3 is Fortnite and Minecraft on one side. The other side is PS4s and VR. Beat Saber is loads of fun.

The place was pretty busy on all three levels. Staff are polite and helpful.

If you get the chance. Definitely check out Arcade Club.

The original is in bury and a while lot of fun too. Going to take my 7 year old during the school hols as they usually open during the day (website didn't have updated hours last time I checked).  He'd better be good at playing something else whilst I play wrestlefest...

Card looks well worth £8.99 imo, just ordered it.

Holding the shows on a Saturday is a great move.

Agreed, the Sunday evening thing only really suits the US market and needs to change. I'll happily watch this on Sunday morning (whilst the kids watch you tube - to parenting!) but a WWE show would normally take me days to get through during the week with life getting in the way and all that.

Winston Bogarde was always a useful squad member apart from his last few years at Chelsea. That was because he was on crazy wages that other clubs didnt want to take on though and he was happy to sit and collect his money instead of leave and earn less.

Football clubs keeping players who wont make the first 11 or are unlikely to is not a great comparison. That usually happens due to needing competition for training, the cost of fees to replace people most usually for more than you sell people you didnt want for, or also for the lucrative loan market where other clubs pay fees to develop your players for you and often cover their wages too.

Buying players that you would never plan on putting in your first XI/PPV to stop the opposition from having them is the same principle .  Bogarde may well have been a useful squad player or handy to have around during training or in the end just sitting back and collecting a big fat pay cheque but Chelsea have routinely stockpiled players who they have never given much of a chance to (Drinkwater and Sidwell to name 2).  WWE is doing the same and just because Luke Harper appears to want to continue his career but that doesn't change the reason for him not being granted his release is because WWE doesn't want him working elsewhere.

Specific circumstances and nuances may well be different but the principle behind Vince keeping people under contract is the same as Chelsea and it will probably end up with someone happily picking up money for sitting around much like in WCW/Chelsea.

I know this is probably for another thread but given this is another example of outright disgraceful stuff, what will it take to make you stop supporting this company?

I don't post very often on here even though I've had an account for years and read fairly regularly but that afadavit had made me cancel my subscription to the network.  Whilst I've always been aware of some of the scummy practices I just can't support the WWE until they do something about the way they behave.
