Shame that a bunch of idiots have responded to Nash's tweet mocking his dead son

Bunch of scumbags, Nash isnt exactly a favorite of mine but regardless who you are doing that stuff is just low class filth. Like the morons who sing the Hillsborough / Munich songs at the football. Lowest of the low.

  2. I've watched Jeff for years in WWF/WCW/WWF/WCW/TNA and i'll be honest i;ve never enjoyed him more. Think it helps that he looks like hes having the time of his life. Not overpushed, no bullshit ref strokes or guitar shots just playing a really good old school heel. Never thought i'd say this but Yep he IS great

  3. I've only been to one 1PW show so forgive me as im really not into wrestling live shows, it was fun, Raven tried to brake a table for about 10 minutes, me and my mates got our moneys worth with decent wrestling., decent stories and a decrebit Rik Flair waving. Was the promotion that scummy and horrendous? Im not trying to cause hassle just genuinely curious as the only show i saw was half decent.

  4. Dunno how hidden it is but just watched Great American Bash 1989, decent undercard, really good Wargames match and a classic Funk/Flair main event. well worth checking out.

Plus it has the dynamic dudes on the undercard who are always hilarious, for the wrong reasons.

  5. As a brand its fine as it is, but they really need to realise its a failure as far as a developmental area. Far to many people who come out of it seem cookie cutter and its rare you get something different. I'm far from Corbins biggest fan but at least he has a personality and has run with it. So many are interchangable. Great athletes but promos are meh and the guys all have the beard, black trunks look. I would say for the women performers its worked a lot better but the cynic in me believes they would of always done some kind of womens revoluation so they can suck their own parts at how progressive and cutting edge they are.

Random fact - every match at fastlane had one participent with the greasy hair/naf beard combo. Try to stand out guys!

@wandshogun09Yeah the match in Boston was a dry run. They wrestled in Washington the night after too. Bret wrestled in singles on loads of house shows at the time against Dan Spivey too, not for the last time he was in a tag team on TV but being looked at in singles on the road. He had loads of singles matches on house shows in 88 and spent virtually all of 89 wrestling singles against (most famously) Mr Perfect, Rick Martel, Honky Tonk Man and a couple of matches with Rick Rude. They were permanently checking what live crowd reactions were to Hitman on his own.

ahh cheers guys, i knew Bret ended up in a battle royal but thought it was the one he lost to Bad News not when Andre threw him onto Anvil. nice one

  7. Martel was meant to go over Booker at Superbrawl 98 but hurt his knee i think it was, it actually lead to his retirement. So Saturn faced Booker instead.

Bret mentions in his book he was meant to face Steamboat at 4 but ended up in the battle Royale.

Lesner beating taker at 30 was only decided a few hours before the show from what I remember.

Pillman was meant to have 2 matches at Badd Blood but obviously they had to just sling a few random matches into the card to fill the time.

Bischoff talks about that on 83 Weeks all the time. They even sell a T-Shirt based on it.

He doesn't go into much detail about what Sting's issues actually were but it doesn't come across like it was a drug problem. It was more that he was literally out of shape. He hadn't wrestled in years, hadn't been going to the gym, wasn't tanned and generally didn't look like he was" mentally ready" to carry the company

Of course that reasoning kind of lacks credibility since they still put the title on him and gave him a run. They just decided to cut his balls off first, and took Bret's too just for good measure.

Depends on the company. A lot of them just don't give a shit. Konnan got his name off Conan The Barbarian, and even used the full name in Mexico, but the only time he heard anything about it was when he tried to trademark it. Even then he just got told not to take the piss.

Plus, as Tommy said, it would also have involved a long, costly, legal battle against Turner that they might not have won. Sting was obviously inspired by The Crow but there's enough unique characteristics (the baseball bat, the scorpion motif, not talking, descending to the ring from the roof, etc) to argue that it was a distinct character in it's own right.

Weren't a lot of Stings issues because he was following in Brets footsteps and throwing one in every rat he came across and his wife found out?
