Still being a bit of a noob, what am I missing here?

I thought I'd bet on win and each way for both races, as a double? Have I fucked up? Why is Galvin VOID?

Apologies if im missing something super simple. I've been working, betting and supervising home schooling today and I still don't really understand e/w 😆

Edit: Now it says Galvin PUSH. The fuck does that mean?

You've done cover bets there, not e/w. Cover bets are where you get slightly shorter win odds and if the horse places you get your stake back. With those odds it doesn't look like e/w would've been worth doing as you wouldn't have got your stake back if it placed. No idea why it was void, haven't seen any racing today. On shorter odds horses rather than e/w I tend to put -for instance - £1 to win and £2 to place, enough to ensure the return from the place bet would cover the win stake.

Edit: Skybet have a maximum £20 back as cash if your horse loses in the first race every day this week too so you’re basically getting a free bet.

I think it's account specific. this year the max refund for me on this offer is £2.

I've not seen anything online backing this up as a 'campaign' of any sort, so how did you find out about this? Was it really just a weird dream and an email??

I used to go on the Tunnocks website at work years ago to play the silly games but then a couple of years ago saw the Contact Us part, I didn't fill it in at first but one day after a few drinks for some reason my mind went to Tunnocks, I made up a story about a dream and a few days later a hat arrived. I mentioned it to a couple of people at work in the coming weeks who then got stuff then forgot about it for a long time, after seeing Tunnocks mentioned here I told someone else in the different section I work in, he got the caramels and the tea towel and I thought "I know of some people who would like this."

I wasn't expecting everyone that's ever posted here to hassle poor Ann with some kind of crazy contact form bukkake, what have I done?

But yeah, I'm not an undercover disgruntled ex Tunnocks worker or anything.

I'm just glad I waited until Ralphy disappeared again before mentioning it.

AND you know what really gets me? EVERYONE I've mentioned it to has had edibles in the post, I got a hat! You can't eat a hat!!

  4. On the subject of Tunnocks, if you leave a comment on their "Contact us" section of their website then you may receive something in the post in the following days. I left a message saying how I had a dream that I met Boyd Tunnock and he gave me a lift in his Land Rover, the following week a Tunnocks woolly hat arrived in the post. A few weeks later I sent one in for somebody at work saying how my Tea Cake while listening to Popmaster was the highlight of my day during lockdown - two boxes of Tea Cakes arrived in the post! Then just two weeks ago I did one for someone else at work telling them how I was impressed to see it's now 7 million caramels that are made and sold each week and I could remember when it was 5 million - he got a tea towel, little tray and a packet of dark chocolate Caramel wafers!

Just don't all do it at once as they might suspect something.

  5. Sparks have added Wolverhampton date! this is excellent news. It's the week of Glastonbury, not part of their main UK run so that makes me suspect i may be able to watch them in person and then on my TV the following weekend. I am a happy old man.

oh yeah, and I don't acre what anyone says - Yungblud was bloody ace on Saturday night. I'm not normally one for gigs of that size but it was amazing, lovely friendly crowd, just a really good experience all round.

  6. Saw Weird Al on Tuesday with his Ill Advised Self Indulgent Vanity Tour, playing "deep cuts" with none of the major parodies or costume changes he's known for. The only disappointment was that it was seated which i didn't realise so i got there too late to get a decent seat and had to stand under the balcony, which anyone who's been to Birmingham Academy will know that meant the sound wasn't the best but Al and the band were brilliant.

Tomorrow night I'm seeing Yungblud, it's at the NEC, i hate massive gigs but i saw him at the Empire in Cov last year and it was ace so on the way home i drunkenly got NEC tickets. It should be a fun gig but i know the NEC is a nightmare to get home from and it's huuuuuge but it'll be fun.

  7. It'll be a Montreal screwjob again won't it?  Screw Sami out of the win somehow, post match beatdown from Solo, Jey comes in, you think he's going to save Sami but BOOM! He attacks him too, Jimmy is shown "in the back" having knocked out and handcuffed Kevin Owens then Cody comes in to actually make the save. Cody is the hero, Roman is a rotter, Sami and KO have a reason to feud for the tag titles and Vince gets to return to our screens (maybe not that bit)

Although the Rumble was the first wrestling I've watched since last Wrestlemania so I only have knowledge of the storylines from what I've read on here really.

Anyone doing the camera winter fest in a few weeks?

With Birmingham shitting the bed it's been moved to Burton.

Do they still have the guy playing the Wurlitzer in Burton? I know they always have bands on as well but you knew you were at the Burton beer festival when he started playing the Theme from Dambusters on his Wurlitzer that comes up from the floor. Beautiful stuff. Oh and the beer and food was always good too.

  9. My first proper gig was Guns N Roses at the Milton Keynes bowl in 93. Supported by Blind Melon, Soul Asylum who were both ace and the Cult who I really didn't get at the time. My parents dropped me and my mates off as close as they could get to the venue (about a mile) and we walked through It was a stupidly big venue, it pissed it down all day and I spent all my money on two t-shirts that I bought her to get briefly dry but have just seen how much one of them (the really horrible one) sells for on eBay and deeply regret throwing it away in mint condition years ago. It was a good day but aside from festivals I'd never want to go to a gig of that size again. Afterwards in the pitch black in the rain we walked aimlessly for ages in the direction we assumed the main road was and by some miracle actually met my dad, at the time it seemed fine but looking back to the time before mobiles and no real planning it was bloody lucky.

My best gif is hard, there's been loads of amazing ones - Sparks, Weird Al, the first twenty times I saw Alabama 3, loads which at the time felt like the best guy ever but I think the one that wins out was David Devant and His Spirit Wife at the Jug of Ale. An overly full sweaty room with the band doing what felt like a stadium gig it was phenomenal. I know the whole gig is on YouTube but I'm scared to watch it in case my memory of the night was enhanced by the whole atmosphere and wherever I was drinking that night. But it felt amazing at the time.

Worst I'd have to say Soundgarden at Reading 95. I've seen worse bands but this was Soundgarden, they should have been amazing but they did not want to be there and made it obvious, so disappointing

  10. I'd owned plenty of compilation tapes and records as a youth but i think the first single i bought was Swing the Mood by Jive Bunny & The Mastermixers, i didn't actually ask for it,, i just went to the counter at Asda and asked for the record at number one, and that was it.

First album i actually paid for was Manners & Physique by Adam Ant, i'd been a bit of an Adam Any fan in my preschool years, my folks had the Prince Charming album and i loved it so when i had a paper round and my own money and i saw that Adam actual Ant had a new album out i got on the 377 bus to Sutton Coldfield and bought it from WH Smiths.  Room at the Top was great but i don't think the rest of the songs had much of a listen after the initial spin.

  11. I made it 30 minutes into Stratagem this evening before turning it off, absolutely awful. I was disappointed by the second series of From the Oast House, it had some very good moments but definitely missed something along the lines of the High Noon storyline of the first, but at least it had those good moments, I was hoping Stratagem would be a return to form but it was just dogshit. I saw the Man Who Thinks He's it tour or whatever it was called and it wasc enjoyable but this really wasn't good at all.

Are these anything like Snyder’s? Can’t get them for love nor money any more (well money but lots of it) so these look very tempting.

They are but they only seem to have two flavours, neither of which are particularly nice, the Poundland (75p) honey and mustard ones are amazing and the jalapeno ones are decent too.

Started with tempura prawns which were massive and super crispy

As you cad Costco fudge cake I'm assuming the tempura prawns are the Costco ones? They're amazing, worth the membership price on their own

It's Tanskii's fault. She killed what potential they had to go top 5 again.

That and Jon Morter running the Kunts Christmas Twitter  account arguing with all the fans questioning it fucked it for Kunt this year. His tweets from that account and the Anyone But ladbaby account were toxic on Tuesday (?) night and killed a lot of enthusiasm, pissing off lots of people who were previously tweeting about it and streaming etc. Kunts Twitter was pretty quiet for a couple of days around that while Morter just went kamikaze and ruined it thinking the "there's no such thing as bad publicity" rule was a thing on Twitter, I was gutted for Kunt.

I didn't get to see the countdown live fully because my mother in law was being moved in to a care home from a hospital today and we were visiting her but I managed to get the top five on, when he was doing to countdown to number two, then that pause and last Christmas came on meaning that sausage roll prick had got number one my wife and I shouted "for fucks sake" and my already confused mother in law hadn't got a clue what was going on.

Hopefully he'll do something for the coronation without Morter involved, an anti royalty song, to the tune of the coronation Street theme perhaps.

  15. I saw the remix earlier, haven't listened to it yet and haven't the foggiest idea who she is but I've seen that it's had a LOT of negative response on Twitter. I'm a bit worried about Googling her because I don't want it to put me off, I bloody love Kunt but from reading the responses on Twitter it looks like he might have shot himself in the foot getting involved with whatever she is

I put A Christmas Story on the other day and fell asleep.

I first watched it about twenty years ago with my then girlfriend and we both thought it was gash, then I watched it with my by now wife and we loved it, not sure if having kids makes up more enjoyable but we watch it every year now "You'll shoot your eye out!" Is said frequently round the Wiseau household

  17. as i haden't watched a single thing related to Christmas so far last night I watched the Devil of Christmas episode of Inside Number 9 and last years Ghost Story For Christmas (the Mezzotint) I enjoyed them both but  but they didn't make me feel festive. Mrs Wiseau is at a Christmas do tonight so if i can get the kids asleep / upstairs I might go for the big guns in a desperate attempt to feel festive; i'm talking Bottom: Holy and The Signalman! if the winning combination of Denholm Elliot and Gold, Frankenstein and Grrr don't get me feeling all warm and fuzzy then i'll just cancel Christmas.
