  1. Check your local Home Bargains lads, I just got the last four packs of Honey and Mustard in the harborne branch, I went back round a few minutes later and they'd removed the price tag for them and replaced them with Nobbys Nuts. Dark days indeed.

  2. The third series of From The Oast House came out last week, it's certainly an improvement on series two and Stratagem. It benefits from actually having a story thread, something the second one missed massively. Not as good as the first one but way better than two, some excellent turns of phrase ( I want to say Partridgisms?)

Makes me more hopeful for the new book

  3. someone at work brought a bag of these in - Bon Chance Cheese & Garlic bread crisps. They're amazing although they should really be called GARLIC and cheese crisps really - strewth they're strong! they would go so well with one of the 0% beers that is in the fridge in the canteen but it's only half nine and someone would make arsey comments even though they're alcohol free. great cunch to them too.

Apparently they were acquired in Sainsburys. no GMO, no Trans Fat and high in fibre, so essentially it's health food.

    Crackzels or Snyders?

Crackzels, if Snyders had been 75p I would have got more than 3 packs.

I just went to the one by my work on my lunch break, they had one pack of the jalapeno flavour, priced at 69p! They don't have them any more.

Gutted that Poundland have discontinued Crackzels pretzel pieces. As great as Snyders are I'm not paying £4 for a bag.

i saw them in Home Bargains last week -75p per pack! I now curse myself for having only bought (and eaten) three packs

  6. I'm on a caravan holiday with Mrs Wiseau and the youngest two, since before we woke up it's been torrential rain so about an hour ago I poured myself a drink and myself and the kids started on the new Takeshis Castle on Amazon Prime. It's ace, of course it is, it's Takeshis Castle. I've been trying to explain to the 8 year old how influential it is as a show but he was mostly interested in laughing at people hurt themselves, as he should. It's Romesh and Tom Davis on commentary - Davis playing the fan of the original show role and Romesh playing against type and being a deadpan cynic, unfortunately Davis isn't as excitable as Craig Charles was and at points they both seem very downbeat but they do bring humour. It also has the big plus of actually being the whole show (episodes 1 and 2 are both the same challengers) so you actually get the whole story of who started and how they progressed target then just highlights of people falling over. It's ace and I'm looking forward to seeing more mayhem this afternoon, hopefully the rain continues!

Hot water bottles have a made by date on them, I only found out because I was showing people at work my latest satsuma segment sized blister from using a hottie to ease my back and I was told you should only use them for two years after they're made. The one I burnt myself with last night was made in August 2011.

I haven't informed Mrs Wiseau about my latest burn, she won't be happy with me even though it's been at least a year since the last one

I've only gone and done it again. My shoulder was hurting yesterday so last night I got a Monsters Inc hottie (Sully if you must know) and propped it against the offending area. This morning I woke up and scratched my shoulder only to feel a familiar wet feeling as I burst another blister from a newly formed burn. I can't see how big it is but I think it's a bad one.  Mrs W is not going to be happy when she sees it. I'm going to be banned from hot water bottles.

    Again.

The whole [one artist] x [another artist] when they collaborate on a song.

I remember a sort of explanation for this that sort of made sense during the COVID times - there was a gourmet burger type place in Birmingham that was allowed to open as they just sold food but they were too small for people to come in and there was a pub with a good kitchen that wasn't allowed to open but had a serving hatch so the burger people used the pubs kitchen and served it through the hatch, it was on the poster as OPM x the British Oak, the x was being used in a "six by seven" way rather than word multiply, so OPM by the British Oak as the pub kitchen made and served it but it was the proper burger place produce. So in that way if its artist x producer it makes sense as it's artist x done by producer.

But most of the time it's just bollocks.

So the young person involved says it's all rubbish.

Have The S*n done due diligence on this or just jumped at a chance to bash the BBC?

Such a coincidence they published it this weekend and it was all kicking off today, the day Johnson was supposed to give his phone with all his WhatsApp messages to the COVID inquiry. Hardly any mention of that on most news sites

  10. Light Lunch was brilliant, i was at college at the time and managed to watch it most days and bloody loved it and Mel & Sue. The it moved to 6pmish and became Late Lunch and lost it's appeal to me.

Popmaster though, i've been watching it but it's not the same, i keep saying i'll skip the early rounds and just watch the original Popmaster bit at the end with my eyes closed, the way Ken intended.

  11. It (KISS) was worth a fiver. It was my eight year olds first gig and he loved it. Not as good as they would have been years ago but it's still a fun show and a big old spectacle. You couldn't see a KISS tribute band for that money so I was well chuffed really. Nice memory for his first ever gig

Possibly. I've just had a look and a search and nothing comes up.

Hopefully the second weekend will be on there. Sorry mate.

It's weird, at work on Friday I went onto Amazon and you could watch Thursday's main stage so I presumed it'd stay that way for the weekend so didn't watch Sparks live but yesterday there was no sign of Day 1 or 2 . Hopefully it'll turn up somewhere

Seeing Sparks tonight with the missus, then The Lemon Twigs on Thursday on my todd. It's a week for people in their 70s and people who hark back to the 70s.

I'm gutted that the Twigs aren't playing anywhere I can really get away with going to but I'm seeing Sparks again in Wolverhampton soon, but them at a venue as special as the Albert Hall really will be something special, have a great night, I know you will because it's SPARKS!!

  14. I'm suprised to see Pete hasn't been in here yet with the news of Dr Evande Hinge from Hinge and Bracket's death. They were all over the TV in the early 80s confusing people as to why these eldery piano playing women were suddenly all over the TV with their innuendo and Noel Coward songs. i'm sure they were on that Good Old Days show. were they the first drag act to have their own show on mainstream uk TV? I have no idea, that's for the obituary writers to say.

  15. At work we have Radio One on constantly so I've grown to like Mae's song a lot but she fucked it tonight, sounded like she'd never sung on stage before, I wish they'd just let Sam have another go. I would have preferred Finland to win and Austria were robbed but I won a few quid in Australia being in the top ten so not all bad. It was a good show but some of the voting was disappointing.

    Same time next year?

*Edit* oh yeah and during the ten minute version of last year's winner at the start I thought it was Myleene Klass on the piano until I looked on the BBC news site. I'm really rubbish at recognising people.

Glad to see I’m not the only one partaking in a Eurovision curry.

I too shall be indulging in this most sacred of traditions .

  17. He's at 17 in the First Look charts, proper midweek is announced tonight. Even though there's no swearing in the song title or lyrics they still didn't mention the title or play it on Radio one last night - although they did say the band name.

  18. So I got some egg flavour Slabs, at first it was really weird because they REALLY taste like fried egg, strangely so. I wasn't convinced last night because it was weird but this morning I tried them with some brown sauce (the lidl copy of  Tiptree) and it was an eye opener, bloody lovely stuff, but then I took it up a notch and had a crisp sandwich, lots of butter, brown sauce and it was amazing. I can fully recommend them.

  19. Has anyone tried Slabs crisps? I saw them last time I was in Farm Foods and thought they were pricey but they were invoiced in their weekly email which makes me think that it might be a good price for them (£1.99 or two for £3) sounds expensive but they look incredibly thick. The main thing that caught my eye was the flavour selection - salt and vinegar, cheese and onion, all the classics, even that old favourite crisp flavour EGG! Egg flavour crisps? Egg! Has anyone braved them?

Obviously egg and chips works but on a crisp? I'm going to have to try them

    Are you okay?

I was until I saw mention of Butlins, but every time I'm reminded of it the memories come flooding back. Never again.

That brings me to Exhibit B. Someone else's Butlin's Breakfast-

I know you claimed you had no Hash Brown, but look at the circled areas. The triangular shape could not be anything else. They clearly match up with your mystery food. One thing that threw me a little was how well cooked this hash brown was compared to the light colour of your item, but then look at everything else.

Sorry to go back to Butlins (and every time I leave I loudly proclaim that will never go back to Butlins, one day it'll hopefully be true) but I'd be interested to know which Butlins this is as the Minehead branch solely has the circular variety of HBs, not the traditional traingular variety. Also those are full slices of toast, Butlins offer no such luxury, they're diagonal slices and it's the worst toast I've ever eaten, so firm on the outside yet somehow soft but stale on the inside, I put it to you that this is not a Butlins breakfast!

    I rest my case

    Erm, why?

Errr... I don't think I have an answer to that, it seemed like a natural thing to do at the time but now you've questioned me on it I can see it might be viewed as odd (on the ukff of all places)

I was saying how my ribs felt like I'd been hit with a hammer then touched my chest and felt something odd and just said "I haven't got a blister have I?" And the three people around me looked horrified. At least it's on my ribs.
