Great post onyx2, would love to hear more like this.
-
Enjoyed the first episode of Better Call Saul, some funny moments in it as well.

My apologies if this has been covered, ive checked a few pages but have not noticed it.
I have a US account set up and usually play it on my mac. I was thinking about setting it back up on my ps3 but would prefer to cancel US unblocker if possible.
Now that the Network is in the UK, would it be simple enough for me to log on without using unblocker (just download network app and log in) or would i have to cancel the US subscription and create a UK version?
I dont have access to my computer at present to try so just thought i'd ask on here in the mean time.
Â
Just download the app and log in, you should have no problems or issues.

Can anyone tell me the date of the MSG event when Gorilla Monsoon burst our laughing when one of the wrestlers slipped off the apron and nearly landed on the commentary table? Think it was a show from either 1990 or 1991. The commentators seemed to have so much fun on those shows!

ÂI think the original plan was for the King Of The Ring winner to receieve a title shot at Summerslam, they did it 1994 and 1995, according to a number of different stories (Including Bret Hart) they were planning to do it at the first PPV event in 1993 till Hogan spat his dummy out.
Â
You're retconning a bit there in regards to 1994 and 1995. It was not stated explicitly on TV that the winner of either tournament would be granted a title shot at SummerSlam. While it was a natural storyline progression for Owen Hart to take a PPV title shot at big brother (who he was already wrestling all over the country anyway) it was a subsequent announcement. Mabel in 1995 also was only pointed in the direction of the title after he attacked Diesel during his match with Sid at the July In Your House. I know you might be angling for "plan" in regards to storyline plan, but there is a big difference between those events and the EXPLICITLY stated "winner gets the title shot at SummerSlam" stip attached to the 2002 tournament and what people are suggesting a return to here.
Â
Funnily enough, while everyone pretty much knows while the original plan in 1996 would have been Hunter winning King of the Ring and then a program with Shawn, WWF Magazine ran a few articles in the wake of Austin's win talking about a potential Austin/Shawn feud (I think I remember Russo in his Vic Venom character implying that Michaels really wasn't up for defending the belt against Austin), which suggests to me that they might have considered an autumn time Michaels/Stone Cold series, before they decided that actually Austin might have been worth a little more than keeping Shawn busy until Bret came back and looking at the lights for HBK on TV. Well, I thought it was interesting, anyway.
Yeah your right, I think I automatically thought when watching the events at the time, that the winner would get a title shot at Summerslam, bit like you said they never "officially" declared it. I do remember reading that in the WWF Magazine at the time regarding the 1996 event and I could never understand why Austin was relegated to "Free For All" status after coming off the King Of The Ring.

ÂGood point about the Rumble and KOTR, maybe they could bring KOTR back with a Summerslam title shot for the winner to make it a draw
Â
They did that the year Lesnar won it didn't they? I'd be up for that as a long term thing. The title shot market place might get a bit overcrowded with the Rumble and MITB as well though. You'd have to either drop one of them or be careful to space them out throughout the year.

IF Daniel Bryan defeats Roman Reigns at Fast Lane, should the WWE just do away with "Winner of the Royal Rumble gets a title shot at Wrestlemania" gig?
-
Does anyone else get a warm feeling when they hear the ppv music first used on Summerslam 88?
Im like that with the music they used for Summerslam 91 (think they also used it for the next 3 years as well)

*Minor spoilers*
Is anybody else struggling to enjoy WWE at the minute? The Austin and Triple H interview was the last straw. I can't get through an hour of Raw or Smackdown before turning it off. I couldn't care less about Fast Lane and this is the least I've ever anticipated a Wrestlemania.
I hate to moan about this because I'm trying to enjoy it. I've mentioned plenty of times already that aside from one or two shows through the year, I only watch Rumble to Mania, so I'm certainly not suffering burnout.
If it wasn't for how much I like NXT and Lucha Underground, I'd be worried that I'm losing interest in wrestling. Thankfully that's not the case.
Anyway, just wondered if anybody else is feeling the same this year?
Im pretty much the same, Ive gone for watching every PPV and Raw regularly up to about two years ago to now only watching the "big" PPV's, the last episode of Raw I watched was Hulk Hogan's birthday bash and I couldnt believe how slow the programme moved it felt like I was watching it for weeks! I do enjoy NXT though.
-
i watched the Austin podcast, was ok I felt the whole Kayfabe point at the beginning was double standards. The little bit about about the Hall Of Fame with Bruno and Warrior was interesting. It was also evident to me that when Vince goes the WWE will become a bigger version of NXT.

Yep. It wasn't exactly a fair fight. Pretty much all of the other guys at the table were working for WWF when WCW had them on their knees and didn't seem like they wanted to give Bischoff an easy ride.Has anyone seen the 2007 Monday Night War Legends Roundtable? Christ on a bike, I know he was obnoxious, but you sort of felt sorry for Bischoff.
Â
Bischoff taking all the talent from the WWF, was basically the same thing Vince was doing in the 80's to the territories, none of them were that concerned then - or if they were did not admit it!
-
Loving the WCW Main Event show. Barry Windham vs Tracy Smothers, Jushin Liger vs Jimmy Garvin and Williams/Gordy vs Big Josh and Buff so far. Quality! Great to see them raid the vaults of a few more promotions too.
Im hoping they add alot more of the early WCW TV shows, would love to watch them again!

Have started watching 1996 WWF Raws and PPV's on the network (decided to skip 1995 as I remember it being shit, might to back to it at some point though). It seems almost surreal that there were middle fingers in the WWF as early as January '96 though. They'd never do that nowadays would they?
Â
Think Nash also visually mouthed the word "bullshit" in a Pay Per View in late 1995.

ÂHe could try the Rock's ... diet.

Oh so thats how he got that big!

Enjoyed the WWE 24 documentary was very very good, At lot of the stuff I had not seen before, with the exception of the Warrior footage - watching that it still makes me feel uncomfortable and still seems quite raw for me. Agree with the above comments about Connor it was heartwarming to see and showed the WWE in a great light.

I think the last good one was Evolution.Almost every WWE theme tune of late has been relatively shite. They used to be so good at it as well. Has JJ left or something?
That's madness.
No its Motorhead
-
Wyatt's is brilliant.
I forgot about Wyatt's, Live in Fear to be honest. Think Mark Crozer is still touring with The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Just plain fucking embarrassing.

May be a little behind everyone but thanks to Netflix (well, the US version anyway) I am really getting into Californication.
-
Love that YMCA shirt. Barbershop window do some cracking t shirts.

Â
You know what should have happened? WCW should have opened the doors and let DX roll down the aisle (even though Nitro hadn't started yet and all the fans were still outside). What a show that would have been*Â
ÂThis is the most interested I've been in a RAW in ages, If i'm not dead by 1am I'll catch this to see what the hell they do.
Â
Â
They're going to show DX driving the fucking tank and Austin spraying the Corporation with beer.

Yes and had Kevin Nash come on and keep swearing at HHH and the gang!

Just browsing eBay and seen that someone is asking £800 for a MOC Dusty Rhodes Hasbro Figure!

I don't know how many servers they have for the UK market, but yesterday I was watching the 2014 Royal Rumble and the picture quality was awful and was buffering a fair bit aswell. I stopped playing the event switched on my VPN and resumed watching and the playback quality improved 100% and did not buffer once.

I was thinking the exact same thing! It was almost as bad as Hercules getting straight up after being pinned after a Sid Justice powerbomb in a MSG match from late 1991, think it was Hercules last match for the WWF,
Â
Back onto LOD, I reckon the production team must have kept hold of them, although I believe the spikes did actually come off, so potentially they could have transported them around. Cannot imagine Hawk doing that though, he had enough problems with the Helmet he was wearing during their return as LOD2000.
