Did you not used to watch The European Football Show on BT? That was right up your street.

I'm a bit in love with Julien Laurens...

Horncastle's voice for me. Like melting butter.

The missus doesn't like looking at him but loves listening to him.

I always like when Laurens and Horncastle have Raphael Honigstein with them. They have very good chemistry as a group of pundits and bounce off each other very well.

There is quite a few podcasts knocking about with one or more of them acting as pundits but if it interests I can highly recommend Golazzo with Richardson, Horncastle and Gabriele Marcotti as being very good on Italian football.

  2. Perhaps the Adam Cole character resonates more with an ROH/PWG familiar fan due to his time there. I love the smarmy dickhead/chickenshit bad guy he is but then I've followed him quite a lot since 2013.

Mine is and I know it's an unpopular thought, I just don't get the thing with Velveteen Dream. While the lad had some tremendous ability in ring and character wise I think the histrionics have hid a question about his character. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? Should I cheer him or boo him? At least with Cole I know I should boo him as a bad guy but he become a bad guy who is cool to cheer. Velveteen Dream just leaves me perplexed.

It's bloody excellent (as should be expected from someone from The Football Ramble) and he treats wrestling with absolute respect and it's nice to add a decent 'fan' based pod to the list.

The rambler in me loves the fact that Pete is looking at wrestling with his lets say odd outlook on life. But the wrestling nerd in me doesn't like the fact the comedian gets some of his facts a little skewed.

But the podcast looks like it has a lot of promise. Quite looking forward to them getting to Wrestlemania 9 and 23 for the Trump stuff. I do dread to think where Pete's brain goes with 20 and Benoit though.

  4. Crucible is a lot of fun. Frustrating at times though. You'll be playing it thinking your shit at it because some of the others are so much better. Had lota of bad words when playing the Crucible on both one and two. I'm more a fan of the strikes myself.

Caved in and bought Destiny 2.

Glad I did because I'm really enjoying it so far.

Same. Been ages since I've bought a game and hit from day 1. Apart from the down time on the servers yesterday I haven't been disappointed. 9 hours into a day long bender with it on tea and sugar free digestives. Lovely.

Isn't there one across from where the Hard Rock used to be in Nottingham too? (near the Clough statue)

It moved around two or three years ago. Some awesome looking barbecue place took over there and always smells amazing.

Got to bring Tony Schiavone in to be the new announcer. He's desperate to get regular work again, and he's doing a popular podcast now. Seems like a perfect fit.

Hasn't he constantly said on his podcast though that he wouldn't want to be a commentator again and would much prefer to be involved in production.

I'm sure somebody must have mentioned Crap90sFootball so far but if not, there you go, and this thread is fucking brilliant.

Didn't he own Wimbledon and Cardiff for a time?

    I'll get my coat.

  9. Can't remember the last time I stayed up to the wee hours playing a game but I've found myself up late on a school night being utterly hooked on Prey.

With its elements of Bioshock, Dead Space and F.E.A.R. and the gorgeous soundtrack I'm loving legging it around a space station.

Could be just after getting through the letdown of Gears 4 and the utter slog of Dying Light and The Following I'm just enjoying the sci-fi horror that is keeping me on my toes.

  10. Just a complete show on auto pilot to get us to Summerslam.

The finish to AJ and Owens looked bad and looked really soft. Whether or not they had a wrong camera angle for it or not I don't know but even Tom Phillips sounded surprised that got the pin.

I never wanted to see a match in the first place with Mike Kanellis and Sam Zayn let alone a rematch for more 50/50 booking. Kanellis looked OK in ROH at times but here and within TNA he's awful. But y'know Maria and all that.

And lastly the usual inept direction of a Money in the Bank winner continues again. He may have the briefcase but he can't beat Nakamura so when he does cash in why should we care?

I am not saying they should put Corbin over Nakamura but when they put that match on the show they are in a real no win situation.

    And Khali. For fuck's sake.

  11. Without wanting to appear overly negative. The tag opener was a spectacular spotfest with just the occasional misstep. Fast paced, some nuts moves, ticked all the boxes I was looking for from that match. And the X Division match was OK I'm parts.

Everything else I'm sorry wasn't for me. I can see how people would find the Parks and Borash vs Steiner and Matthews match entertaining but the moment it went to the pre taped stuff it took me out of it.

Eli Drake and I can't explain why makes me want to turn off as does EC3. I can't put my finger on why I don't like them but I don't. James Storm as much as I like him doesn't seem to fit. Moose doesn't seem to have moved on from his ROH days in the way of look, character and move set. The women's match wasn't good and neither was Full Metal Mayhem.

Then you go to El Patron. I think enough has been said about him on here to know everyone's opinion. But when you think in terms direction I can't help but think that it would be improved so much more if they had gone with Cody in El Patron's position. El Patron is fucking awful.

And in terms of second chances. WWE has a lot of goodwill because of their past history and standing. TNA feels like the crazy ex who you keep letting back into your life as they say they have changed but your just waiting for the inevitable let down that you know is just around the corner.

  12. I haven't enjoyed an episode of Raw since I can remember. Watched the highlights but then went back and watched the whole show on Dailymotion later on. And while the show length still feels a slog and I think Tiger Rick mentioned this but the laser focus on some feuds is quite refreshing. Also the fact that every character seen seems to serve a purpose within the show and going forward is good too.

I am really looking forward to Great Balls of Fire. And while I agree that both the Miz/Ambrose and Rollins/Wyatt programs aren't exactly setting the world on fire they have had some decent moments and the matches should be at least better than decent. Is it too much to think that this could be the best WWE event so far this year? Or is it just that bit of glimmer of hope of something good has had me carried away?

The tag title match being LAX VS Drago/Fantasma vs Ishimori/Marafuji vs Garza jr/Laredo Kid makes me really want to see it. I hope they give it some time.

This is the only thing that has any interest for me. Your right about giving this time. If this is just a balls to the wall spot fest it could be one of those matches that gets enough buzz to get extra eyes on the product.
