They seem incredibly happy with the Electric Ballroom and there's always a question of whether you lose something making that step up. PWG still run the same 400-seater they always have, despite 5-minute sell-outs. It probably wouldn't hurt to try it once, though...

Exactly that. The atmosphere is such a huge part of promotions like PROGRESS and PWG that moving is not an easy decision. Running things like weekenders and more frequent shows (they're now doing every six weeks instead of every two months) may lessen that load a bit.
Agree with the atmosphere thing for Progress. Surely soon though taking a risk on a show elsewhere, possibly the North West of England (hint, hint) would be worth a shot to see if its as popular elsewhere.
The north west of England that already has PCW doing similar numbers, and Futureshock selling out most of their Underground shows? Why tread on their toes?

ICW have ran around here and also NGW are running shows quite often around this area now. Can't hurt now can it.

since i've been watching this again, about 8 weeks ago, Josh Matthews has been accompanied at commentary by Tazz, Tenay, Al Snow & now Elijah Burke with no explanation any time

Why is Elijah Burke back with TNA and just commentating? Last I heard wasn't he an extra on The Dark Knight Rises?
Yeah, but that wrapped up and was released a while ago.
I'll expand the question then mateyboy:

Since that movie has been released in 2012 has he done any wrestling related as it seems he name hasn't really come up since he left TNA.

And it seems a strange move though not an unusual one from TNA to go bring him back randomly like that

He worked for myself in 2013 and still looked great. TBH was always surprised ( or maybe wasn't ) that TNA dropped the ball with him. He was so over at one point. He has invested a lot in property over the years so does not need to wrestle.

I always thought he was on the road to having an big spot when he won the Eight Card Stud tournament (please correct me if I'm wrong) and took on AJ at Lockdown for the title.

The injury and the constant change in direction of plans from Bischoff and Hogan kinda derailed that.

Surprised WWE didn't take a chance on him to flesh out the NXT roster. Surely the street preacher character is something that NXT could play with.

He did some shows over here in 2013.

    Cool. Thanks.

  6. Is it just me who doesnt see shit in Bennett and Taven? Apart from Maria of course, who is the whole act and carries herself like a total star. They are like two paint by numbers WCW Power Plant wrestlers you'd see on Worldwide.

Great card, by the way. Looks outstanding. Shame they couldnt get Joe for this. I dont know why they didnt book him for it. He's still doing indy dates in May.

The Japanese fans supposedly have a big thing for Maria so Taven and Bennett were brought in off that.

But as a team they are pretty good. Some decent double teams. Bennett is always game to make an ass out of himself and Taven is much better here than in his TV title run. If you get a chance try and catch their match against reDragon at Supercard of Honor. I found it entertaining.

  7. The finish to Summerslam was it Triple H just trying to fuck over Goldberg's push?

Or was there a real big plus side of Triple H wanting to drop it to Goldberg in a singles match to put him over but couldn't at SummerSlam due to the groin injury. Hence the Chamber match which was reported at the time.

I do remember this result made me stop watching WWE until the Rumble the next year.

    Full list at: http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/broadcast/other-codes/listed_events.pdf

Wimbledon is among the events that have to be offered live to channels available in 95% of home, which means anything Freeview now. The Open is category B, where only highlights have to be offered.

Thanks for that list. I knew there was a list of sorts.

When you look at it how long can the BBC fund the Six Nations? That looks most at risk.

There was at one point talk of the Six Nations games involving Wales being protected in Wales.

Coming from a Welsh uni I can imagine how much uproar that would cause if those games were lost.

With regards to Sky I for one am quite happy the WWE gave them a bit of a shafting.

Feels like a nice bit of revenge for the average freeview customer who have lost virtually all live football from next season.

Pay to fucking watch it then, everyone wants stuff for free nowadays, just go to the pub and drink cordial when there's a game you want to watch if you don't want to pay for Sky/BT

To be fair it isn't about something for nothing. Its about one or two companies making a monopoly on sporting events for themselves. European cup competition and The Open in golf has been lost to those companies this year, long traditions lost to money. Its about balance and how long until Sky & BT take the rights to the likes of Wimbledon or the World Cup. Yes at the moment they are protected bit for how long.

I am more than happy to go the pub or pay for something I want to see I'm just saying I'm happy to see Sky take a little hit for once.

  11. What would you say became the most rare and also what has become the most sought after VHS' that Silver Vision ever produced?

I know some took years of aggressive bidding on eBay and some long searching at car boots and market stalls to get a lot of my VHS'

  12. After asking in the pinned questions thread, I have finally seen the first three episodes of Lucha Underground, on number four now. Absolutely bloody love it, can't get enough of it. What is the general consensus on here?

Its my can't miss watch on a Thursday. Hoping its brought out as a collection over here.
