  1. In uni, my housemates and I had a Hardcore Championship which was obviously defended 24/7. It was usually won by simply placing a finger on the champion as they had both shoulders resting on the back of the sofa while a third party counted the pinball, but on the odd occasion it would change hands after a full on assault. We decided to stop after one occasion where the current champion was being attacked by my other housemate and he fell half way down the stairs and fucked his ankle. It didn't stop said attacker from pinning him mind, ignoring the screams of "GET THE FUCK OFF ME I'VE BROKEN MY LEG!".

Me and my mates had a 24/7 Hardcore Championship too. I'm still technically Champion seemingly waking up just at the right time to kick out whenever someone tried to pin me whenever I passed out from drinking too much. I think I've been Champion about 6 years now...

  2. My iPhone 5s has really been playing up on and off the past 3 weeks. Throwing me out of apps constantly and freezing when using Facebook/Twitter/Messenger. Occasionally rebooting itself too. It seems to be okay some of the time and then after a few days does it again. It's extremely frustrating. Is this linked to the last update or something?

Apologies for being a little bit vague but I'm not that clued up on these things.

  3. Where's the Kliq documentary? All I can find is the Behind the Scenes bit and the Moments and Matches. Am I missing something or just been thick?

They don't tend to put new releases on the network straight away. I'm not sure how long between being released on DVD and them putting it up is, but the Heyman documentary took a few months. Hoping the Lawler doc will be up soon.

  4. It'll probably be primarily a young crowd but i expect there'll be a decent mix there overall, you'd be surprised who turns up to shows with popular bands involved.

Theres a documentary coming out early next year about the South Wales music scene from the early-mid 2000's, its called Massive - The Rise & Fall. Focuses on bands like Lost Prophets (errr), Funeral for a Friend, The Blackout etc. as well as the smaller bands who never really broke out of the local market. It's a scene i was very much around but id never say i was a part of of the "scene" in terms of the cliquey following it developer, this was during the early days of myspace when it all became very fake and too poser-esque for my liking. I went to lots of shows though and liked a lot of the bands involved. Interested to see how they spin the story.

Cheers for heads up! I'd really like to see that. The scene was really healthy when I was coming into my teens and getting into that type of music. And being from South Wales myself I instantly felt like I had a connection with those bands. Listening to some of them brings back some of my fondest memories of my teens.

  5. Tips for bar work which I've picked up in yeeeeeears of working behind bars and propping them up.

You need to be everyone's mate. Be welcoming, funny, and confident. Be a little cheeky but not obnoxious with it. Read up on the days sports stories in order to talk to male patrons. You'll soon have them saying "And one for yourself, mate". Always make sure you've a bar towel hanging off your trousers. Remember, a single measure of Baileys and Port is 50ml as opposed to 25ml if you're using those little metal things to pour spirits. And most importantly, when you're busy, DON'T RUSH. NEVER EVER RUSH. The beer's not going to leave the pumps any faster and you'll be prone to fucking up with the drinks or on the till or something.

Cheers for the advice Butch. Appreciate it and it goes along with what most people have said.

I'm generally a pretty easy going guy who gets on with most people but I feel like I'm really going to be majorly out of my comfort zone, but that is probably due anyway. I start tonight with an induction shift but tomorrow I have a 16 hour shift with a Wales rugby game on... Baptism of fire! If I survive that there surely can't be a harder shift to do (except Black Friday) in a pub in Cardiff.

  6. Why did Stone Cold Steve Austin start saying "what!?" Is there any story behind it? I wasn't really watching regularly apart from the PPV's at that time. Just watching Royal Rumble 2002 back and it's everywhere! In his promos and in the video packages. Was it supposed to be funny? I find it very annoying.

  7. Had a cracking day at Reading on Saturday. Despite the delay meaning they clashed a bit I was very happy to see Ghost and Metallica, both of who smashed it out of the park. Ghost were incredible.

Was really happy Foals did an unannounced set too which I saw in its entirety. One of my favourite live bands.

Another thing of note was the massive Royal Rumble in the crowd during Royal Blood accompanied by a group of lads singing John Cena's music the entire gig. Stupid but mildly amusing.

  8. It's as Ann as the nose on Plain's face.

Anyway, back to Foley. Nobody's going to cry "spoilers" if I say I thought he was shit at SummerSlam, are they? His music came on and I instantly thought "Oh, fuck off." He's literally pointless on TV at this stage, he didn't even have his fucking teeth in, and I thought "what a fine waste of time this is."

Yeah I was disappointed to hear his music hit too. There's no point in him showing up anymore as far as I'm concerned. He really isn't funny either.

As soon as he mentioned that he had never been to Suplex City during his career I hoped Lesnar was going to come out and destroy him. Obviously wasn't going to happen but I just wanted to see Foley get a beating.

  9. Recommend you taking a look at these threads and this forum in general if you haven't found it already. Helped me loads!
