  1. It's been a tricky one with the two main talking point matches from SSS16 not happening due to NJPW calling. But in the case of Havoc v Ospreay, at least it got to happen sooner rather than later instead. They did say ZSJ will get his title shot as soon as possible. But they turned it into a positive with their 3 And In series over Chapter 74, the US Tour and C75. The other main match, Pete Dunne v Ilja Draganov hasn't had that big a build as you'd think they'd at least get Ilja in at some stage for a match to show those unfamiliar with him what he's like.

The Tag Team Thunderbastard is good because they got extra people on the show without it looking tacked on with the series they did to get the best entry spots. Fair play to whoever came up with that. I think that'll be interesting.

Overall, with more shows than they used to be running and having to work around NXT UK tapings lately, it's clearly been tough for them to pad out the storylines. But we can only hope they can do the best show they can. Any idea of what attendance they're looking at?

Wasn't Hogan also getting a percentage of the PPV buys as well though? That would bump his income up a fair amount.

I remember his contract surfaced a while back and it was insane. He'd also get a guaranteed percentage of the gate of every Nitro he was on or something along those lines.

  3. I went to a Sea Cadet Summer Camp which was cadets from all over the South West Area. There was a kid in my billet/group, we were all assigned to and we rotated on the activities we did in the week, and I am not making this up. He was called Luke Walker. He had the middle name Sky. He had a Stormtrooper outfit for the final night disco as well. he went by Skywalker all week in recognition of that.

I also knew a guy from school in the year above me called Tom Jones. The references to his Welsh Bond Theme singing namesake never crossed my mind in all the time I knew him. I don't know anyone else who did for that matter.

  4. Fishcake and jumbo battered sausage with chips is my usual thing. I have 3 regular chippys. It just depends how I'm feeling as to which one I go to. My main one is the more expensive one, but they're the best by far. They also do these terrific burger meal deals I get now and then on nights out. Just add some bacon and cheese on that. Perfection. The others depend, but they're all within 10 minutes of me. So it's all good.

  5. I remember the last time I saw him. I watched him wrestle a few times when he was based in Liverpool mainly doing All Star shows, he was actually sick in the ring. He was wrestling Joel Redman, I don't know what happened. He got up from a move, all of a sudden, he threw up and walked straight out and they made the match a no contest and had to take the interval early to clean/disinfect the ring. It was the second match on as well. He looked terrible unsurprisingly.

From what I've seen, people were turning their backs to him as well. There's heat and there's being utterly unacceptable. Don't think he'll be wrestling here again.

  6. I'm trying to think what was the first proper mention he was undefeated. They said 8-0 at WrestleMania X-Seven before beating Triple H the first time. Any earlier than that? XXI was the first time it was used as a selling point because they only mentioned it in passing prior. But X8 was definitely the first people took notice.

Remember when Lesnar beat him and there was all that stuff going round it was only because he was going into business for himself? He was the guy for job. He's just gotten hideously overexposed since. We did get this cracker out of it.

  7. I've a few if I'm honest.

WrestleMania XXX was completely predictable. If anything, it was pretty obvious Daniel Bryan was going to win it back in the end as that was the obvious payoff seeing how he'd been screwed over twice and in the process, achieving the unique distinction of having 2 WWE Championship reigns that didn't add up to a full 24 hours.

Triple H got a lot handed to him is another and it does make me wonder how much of it had to do with running off with the boss's daughter. Yes, he got a few prior to that, so may not have made much difference. But I'm sure you can agree with me in wondering how many people who said circa 2003 when he was winning the World Heavyweight Championship every 5 minutes that Triple H was ruining the business but nowadays say they can't wait for him to run the business.

Paul Heyman steals focus. See his stint with Cesaro as it was obvious it was just to keep him around after his other client won a match at WrestleMania that year. Don't think it went very noticed.

I feel this will fly for a lot of people, but I will certainly add Roman Reigns was as destined as the next guy in The Shield. He does have what it takes, he looks the part, but it's pretty sad that it's come to this. When did he start to go wrong? Had a terrific 2014 for the most part, superb performance in the Rumble, broke the eliminations record, and feuded with The Wyatt Family and Evolution as part of The Shield. Then Seth ended them, he wrestled 2 main events for the WWE Championship, then the reactions started changing and he got hospitalised for his hernia and came back with the bizarre declaration for the Royal Rumble he would win. Have to agree, the It's My Yard Now bit was bloody brilliant. The crowd didn't troll Roman. Roman trolled the crowd. He only needed 10 minutes and 4 words because he had them where he wanted them.

  8. Can't have this discussion without Johnny Cash's Hurt. Because once Johnny Cash covers your song. It is no longer your song.

I also have to give a nod to Freddie Mercury's version of The Great Pretender because he really makes that song his own and it suits him perfectly.

Lastly, my most recent discovery, Haley Reinhart's cover of Creep with Postmodern Jukebox. This is their highest viewed clip and no wonder. Particularly as this was the first take and she nails it. PMJ have some really good covers.

  9. Yeah. Toys R Us did the WWE Pint Size Heroes prior to going under. The wrestling Pop Vinyls have been my main focus lately. Although the smaller ones are pretty hard to find as they were an exclusive I think, same with the Shinsuke Nakamura one which is on my most wanted list. I got Bray Wyatt, Stone Cold, Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks as part of the PSH line. Getting a full set of them is easier said than done. A lot of them are in the States where it costs a packet for shipping. They're great for the price as you can get all sorts. But £10 odd for blind boxes is a bit much to be honest.

How much did your mate pay for the WrestleMania XX limited edition box, if you don’t mind me asking? I have that.

It was about ÂŁ20 odd in CEX. He saw it in the window so he went up and asked about it. Always good when they're fully complete. I was as staggered as he was.

  11. I've spotted the odd Hasbro now and then, but yeah. They're quite hard to see in person. It is tricky as they're quite hard to come across in decent nick for some of them. I got a buddy who found the Legion Of Doom Hasbros in a charity shop he tends to get some great finds in for 50p each. He's mainly a collector of rare wrestling DVDs. We met up recently as we're in different towns, so we don't to see each other often and we found the collectors edition of WrestleMania XX with all the bits still in it. Limited edition of 6,000. He got it there and then.

WhatCulture Wrestling did a video of rarest figures as well that fetch a pretty penny. Interesting watch.

It was definitely reported at the time as him being removed from the Hall of Fame, and he's talked about it as such interviews since then.

I think it was a similar situation with Jimmy Snuka after he got charged with that murder and then it got dropped after he got deemed unfit to stand trial after he got diagnosed with dementia combined with terminal cancer and then WWE made an awkward situation of honouring him on Raw when you consider what he'd been facing prior to his death. But was there anything official said about Hogan aside from all reference being removed online?

  13. Copy/Pasted the events from the Hashtag Wrestling calender for the Friday and Saturday before for the benefit of anyone who fancies making a weekend of the Graps. Can imagine Attack is one of their Catheys Bingo Hall shows as they run Cardiff Walkabout for their bigger shows and do a PPV screening in conjunction. I'm guessing there's a few who will do EVE or the Edge show Plenty dotted around the place. Is there a Progress Dome Show planned before it do we reckon?

  14. They've confirmed if England do beat Croatia tomorrow, the show in Birmingham on Sunday will open/start an hour early to accommodate showing the World Cup Final as the interval. Should hopefully be done by 9:30pm at the latest provided it doesn't go to extra time/penalties. Particularly as that's been the case for the last 3 finals.

I think that's the best solution they could come up with. It's a potential once in a lifetime event and it would be a shame to miss it. Something mere weeks ago we all thought wouldn't happen. Of course, whatever the result, it's been great to see an England team actually do well in a World Cup for a change. But luckily for me, I've got the first and last trains from/to home. So if I have to leave early, then so be it. Its mainly Toni Storm as I've not seen her yet and Kings Of The North to see what the deal with them is. Suggestions on starting points welcome, so as long as I get to see them as well as the No DQ match, I'm fine personally.
