  1. After the Candy comments further up the page it really made me smile to see Planes, trains and automobiles get a 10 on your list :) it’s my favourite film ever.

Its a shame he didn’t have more of a filter when it came to the roles he accepted

  2. Being a skint kid with no other options to play was really the key to becoming engrossed in most of these games. Now you can download the full catalogue of games and install them on pretty much any device in about 20 minutes you realise how tedious some of them are.

I have similar memories and nostalgia for the console and loved it as a kid, but I have never been able to get back into it now we are older and spoilt for choice.

it still blows me away how small some of the games are file-size wise though! Incredible how they managed to fit so much Into them

  3. I still find it bizarre watching some of the original events because I am so used to seeing the Silver Vision edits. It took about 25 years for me to know what Ax was referring to with ‘Eliminate us huh?…’ on Wrestlemania 6

  4. That question sounded incredibly scripted and rehearsed to me. Like when an interviewer asks a comedian a very specific question just to lead them into one of their ‘bits’ from the live show…

  5. Spoiler

Glad the bloke with the beard didn’t get to the final as he literally did nothing in most the games

  6. The umbrella shape should have been already cut out once they opened the lids.  Automatic win for the whole team.
That would have been the ultimate reversal after the bullying that went into trying to force people to have it, and it would have really f**cked with them all mentally as to how the games worked.

Guy with the phone should have just said 'I'm not allowed to have two in a row...' and put the phone down.  Someone else would have picked it up.

Bizarre how many Americans are in it considering it was filmed in Bedford?

Economical with his answers, laser focus on the task at hand. Quite unusual.

There is no way he isn’t related to Hilary Briss

It’s the reason Wrestle Me worked so well too. It wouldn’t have been half as fun if Pete knew as much as Marc.

    *Works
Not sure if you know, but they have a Patreon with absolutely tons of amazing content and continue to release weekly shows.  If you enjoyed the Wrestlemania timeline you will love it.

  9. I’ve just seen these too! Can’t work out f the heads are comically oversized like the panda ones they sell?

on a side note, I still have the hockey game, I was playing it a few weeks ago and it’s class. Used a bottle top as the puck as I’ve lost the original. It’s absolutely huge so it has to live in the loft most of the time. They made a turtles one too. The artwork was drawn by the same guy that did the rumble 91/92 covers

  10. We watched Trick ‘r Treat the other day and thought it was pretty terrible. Visually looked decent but the story’s were dull and they obviously just went for the Tarantino style jumbled timeline to try and rescue it.

Terrifier 2 seemed really convoluted too.  They obviously struck gold with Art, and his character/mannerisms are what really make it worthwhile.  Why they felt the need to add all of the side story and the supernatural side of things is baffling.  Could have cut at least an hour off it and improved it drastically.

  11. The key with Electric guitars is definitely getting a tone that sounds decent and recognisable for the song/riff you are trying to play.

The thing I recommend to a lot of learners is buying one of the mini Laney amps.  They have an app which you download on your phone/ipad, and you plug the amp into the headphone socket of your device.  Once plugged in, you can search any band/song on the app and it will give you that sound/tone through the amp as you play!  They have pretty much everything on there.

When you are a beginner and trying to learn something, hearing the right tone/sound come back out of the amp that you recognise from the CD is so amazing!
You can go on the app and create your own amps/effects too which is really cool for experimenting.

I'm pretty sure mine was only about 30 quid when i bought it a few years ago.
The app I use is called Tonebridge, but i think there are loads of others.  You can download it without the amp (its totally free) to have a look/listen to the different bands/songs/tones on there.

  12. I'd go one step easier... if you are a complete beginner, learn how to do a power chord.
Basically your hand stays in the same position/shape, and you play a simplified version of the chord depending on what fret your hand is on.
You can play a simplified version of any song using power chords, so I would recommend picking your favourite song and learning how to play along with it using power chords.
The confidence from being able to play something you enjoy so quickly will help to keep your enthusiasm up and thrive to learn more things.

I find that the reason most people give-up on guitar is because the learning-curve is steep initially if you jump straight into open chords, your hands are too weak to hold the shapes, and the songs you are taught are usually traditional standards that it is hard to get particularly excited about.  Learn a song you enjoy first and annoy everyone in your house playing that over and over for a few weeks.

Happy to help if you want to give it a try :)

If I'm pouring milk or juice from a carton, it seems to come out in blobs and splashes everywhere and half of it ends up going down the outside of the glass.

If it’s a carton with a twisty lid, make sure the spout is at the top and the reservoir of the carton is closest to the glass….it’ll pour perfect every time then without the stop/starts

  14. Really random one, but if anyone remembers it, it’d be someone here…

around 92ish, one of the newspapers did a wrestling pull-out supplement thing.  It wasn’t the wall charts where you collected the pictures each day and stuck them on, it was like the centre few pages of the paper which made a separate wrestling supplement.

I only had one, which had an old picture of hogan on the front with his white ‘hulkster’ headband, so the photo was probably from around 85ish?

does anyone have any memories of this? Was it an ongoing thing? I’ve scoured Google and eBay with no luck…
