I just read this post to my partner and she loved it! She said they did the same thing at Leeds. Now she’s telling me how she saw Capdown loads and wasn’t into 4ft Fingers. She’s saying how she had Capdown stuff on her bedroom wall and that wave of nostalgia has really cheered her up and put a smile on her face. So thanks for that!!

Ahh that’s ace matey! Those British bands of the time were so hardworking. Literally on tour constantly, it was an amazing scene.

this is a great song by Capdown if you have never heard them

Lightyear were always my favourites. Steve-o from jackass did a live tour in the early 2000s and they landed a spot as the opening act.  They got thrown off the tour after about 2 days for being ‘too much’…

  2. I don't think they are swapping headlining but LTJ played a pretty solid set last night and got a good amount of time. They had a decent stage setup and played about 14 songs.

BFS are entertaining enough between songs to make it worth staying if you have got tickets matey, and they split the more known songs throughout the set if you wanna hear phineas and ferb lol

  3. Took my kid to his first gig last night to see BFS and less than jake. Think he was a bit overwhelmed by the noise and the crowd but said he enjoyed it and would like to go again so that’s a good start!

The opening band Vandoliers we’re pretty cool too. Some of their songs had a bit of a flogging molly vibe to them, and they had good energy on stage.

Less than jake are one of those bands that I’ve never owned an album of but know a ton of songs via osmosis, and they are always an entertaining show.  I remember one year they played Reading and had a huge circle pit going right around the scaffold tower in the middle of the crowd with the sound desk and stuff on it…I’d be knackered in about 20 seconds these days.

Really made me miss the days of seeing Lightyear/4ft fingers/Capdown/Spunge for £4 a ticket

  4. When I used to work at a quiet local pub, I found out that you could scam the 20p sweet machines with the turning handles, by wedging a matchstick in them and dropping a 1p in. I was never on shift to see the guy refill the machines and find all the bits of matchstick stuck inside sadly.

  5. So is the uk one the only one to not have reality stars as part of the cast now? Not a good sign, hope it doesn’t follow suit…. I know the girl in the first series was on love island and stuff, but it is so much better when it’s generally normal people rather than folks looking for extra publicity

Tbf, Jaz should’ve said he wouldn’t have picked another banishment if he wasn’t a faithful.

That doesn’t mean there’s another traitor left though. Harry could have been faithful and jazz still could have chosen another banishment.

another thing that crossed my mind is that the traitors are the only ones that get the chance to win all the money? For a faithful to win they would always have to share it? So a faithful could use the tactic of knowingly voting out other faithfuls at the end to get a larger percentage of he prize?

  7. I thought the same really.  It looked like he was either making something up that no-one could prove, or best case scenario he was having secret conversations with traitors.

I'm glad a traitor from the start has won. They have to do so much all the way through, it feels a bit like cheating when someone recruited in the last few days wins.
Mollie didn’t do a great deal for the whole show either.  If they were more self aware and thought about ‘Why haven’t I been murdered as a faithful and am in the final’ it should tell them who the traitors are.

  8. Jaz sat on the fence too much waiting for other people to have the difficult conversations and outing people.  He had that knowledge of Harry and Paul from the first few days and didn’t share it with anyone, then decided to bring it up in the final once he had no influence over anyone or a clique to back him up.

One of the gladiators basically humping the contestant for 10 seconds on hang tough was strange.

That was bizarre. It was like she couldn’t understand how the contestant was holding on, then realised she was still holding on to her own rings, so wasn’t actually putting any weight on the contestant…

I thought the gladiators gave the male contestants a pretty easy ride yesterday. Definitely feels like they are trying to give them more of a chance than the original series. No one gave that memo to the bloke in gauntlet tho…lol

As mentioned, the eliminator already looks a bit sparse and underwhelming, but the amount they keep slowing down the travelator really isn’t helping. It’ll be pulling them up the slope soon

  10. Yeah it’d be crazy to announce the relationship as it is always going to lead to suspicion.

I don’t think it would be that hard to hide the communication though. In the last series the guy with the pink hair managed to find plenty of opportunities to kiss his girlfriend and no-one had a clue.

I just can’t imagine going into a game like that with a pre-made allegiance and not using it to your mutual benefit

  11. Maybe I’m in the minority, I just assumed Ross and Diane would work as a team to try and get one of themselves (or both) to the final, then just split the money?

in a game where you literally can’t trust anyone, it’d be pretty dumb to not take advantage of that and work as a team?

  12. In season 1 they voted that John guy most liked and you could tell he was such an arrogant aggressive arsehole as soon as he’d had a drink….who now assaults women

Then this season they have voted Paul most popular, and he is so smug and emotionless. It is so hard to get a true feel of what the contestants are seeing at times with the way the show is edited.

There is no way that Diane and Ross haven’t communicated with each other whether they are traitors.

I wonder if the producers have laid-down some new rules about people throwing others under the bus when they are eliminated like that guy did with Wolf in the first series? When the traitors double-cross you, you could easily ruin the whole show otherwise…. ‘Yes I’m a traitor, so are Harry and Paul…. Byeee’

  13. The demos on some of the old magazines were amazing too.  I remember a mate bringing round a cd with the first bit of GTA 1 on it, and we spent weeks running over innocent pedestrians.

even the old spectrum mag demos had hours of gameplay and random bits of software…some real gems on there.

I’d never have completed dizzy without their maps

  14. Didn’t know that matey! Thanks!
Did anyone ever chip their PlayStation themselves? I heard loads of random stuff the years about how you could use I spring or something to stop the lid closing properly, booting a normal game, then dropping the dodgy one in? Not sure if that was for playing imports or something?
