  1. Adam, your ignorance is actually infuriating.

Have a look at all the other promoters who advertise here; look at their spelling and grammar, the way they present themselves, the grapics they use, the terminology, the hype they deliver. Believe it or not, the UKFF is a very forgiving place (people still attend PCW shows after the 'threatening a 14 year old at his front door' blunder) and we love a good underdog. We would love nothing more for another promotion to flourish. But the way you are going about things will add yet another stain to the representation of wrestling in Britain. Where are the visually pleasing posters, match graphics and hype write-ups?

What's even worse is that when this show fails you will blame this forum and not look at your own mistakes. Forgive us for having a little fun whilst you leave a horrible mark on the scene with this doomed show.

  2. 95% of the chants were great. Stuff like 'What's Your Safeword?', the moustache song, humming along to theme tunes and just chanting the names and catchphrases were really fun. It's the knobs who kept chanting stuff like "You're just a fat Daniel Bryan!", "Better than 'Mania!" and "Poor man's *insert massive mainstream wrestler here*" that really gave me the douce chills. I was stood next to a bloke, no idea who he was, but when this small pocket of prats would try those chants we'd just give each other this look as if to say "You're as annoyed as i am, aren't you?". Proper Captain.Picard face in palm stuff.

But as i said, other than that, absolutley blinding show with an atmosphere that rivals PWG.

  3. Great, great show! I went in totally blind to the ICW regulars and came out as a massive fan. There were some plebs in the crowd who only cared about getting themselves over (the 'We Are Awesome' chant as Whiplash and Trent were selling a massive bump to the outside was a particular low point) but apart from that, absolutley cracking stuff! Does anybody know where i can find the lyrics for Global Hero? I need to learn them!

  4. Top rope leg drops. For this case, we'll go with Fandango. When Fandango misses it, he sells it like death, yet it's the same impact to his arse and heels wether he hits the move or not. Annoys the shite out of me. A stupid move, even worse as a finisher.

When a babyface will try and rally the crowd with the "C'MON LETS GO! *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP*". If there is no storyline or build to the match, and/or there is no one in the ring that we actually came to see, then make us give a damn with your gimmick and in-ring work, then we'll clap and shout by ourselves. The generic, clean cut baby face with no charisma shouting  "LETS GO BOURNEVILLE!" as soon as the bells rings is like nails on a chalk board. Your entrance and mannerisms before the bell starts should be enough for the crowd to willingly get behind you. Stop being so lazy.

Heels who think it's appropriate to zone in on one particular crowd member, get millimeters from the audience members face and shout stuff like "Come on then!!! Hit me!!! You're such a pussy!!!" etc etc. It's lazy and it's really uncalled for.

  5. Hate to bring up an old topic but i've been searching around for a while now and found no answer to my dilema. I log into New Japan World, and when ever i translate the page, i get automatically logged out. It's incredibly frustrating as it means i have to find where i want to go, memorise the steps, sign in and then navigate by memory. It happens with both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone found a fix for this?

  6. That does look pretty sweet, i thought Thrice were on an indefinate hiatus though?

They are, hence why this is a UK exclusive appearance. It's a flabbergasting announcement. There are also rumours abound that From Autumn To Ashes, who have recently reformed, will be on the line-up.

I went to Hevy fest maybe, 3 years ago? Atmosphere was awesome,so many good sets with crowds going wild. The only problem was the toilet situation! no where near enough toilets for the amount of people. But i'm sure they've addressed that in the past couple of years. Pretty cool being able to hang out at the safari park/zoo before any bands start too. Plenty of decent food trucks too (good veggie and vegan options) rather just burger bars.

Sounds great! I'm really looking forward to no long-ass walk from the car park to the campsite and having plenty of space to tent up. Do you remember what the night life situation is? Do they have pop-up discos and stuff to do after the bands have finished, or is it just back to the campsite for a few more beers?

  7. There is no one i would see in that update with the exception of FightStar. Another lackluster offering from Download, looks like i'll be giving this one a miss again.

    In positive news, Hevy Festival have announced more bands and BY FUCK it is looking incredible. So far, it is;

    Thrice

Coheed and Cambria, who have confirmed that they’ll be performing seminal album In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 in full on the Friday night.

    The Dillinger Escape Plan

The Get Up Kids (playing Something To Write Home About in full!!!),

    Monuments

    Vales

    Grader

    Up River

    Ohhms

    Collisions

    Touché Amoré

    Hacktivist

    Black Tusk

    Baby Godzilla

    Continents

    Creeper

    Fort Hope

    Fathoms

    The Colour Line

    Wraiths.

Coheed And Cambria playing IKSOS in full is worth the ticket price alone (£70 for both nights including camping). The Get Up Kids playing Something To Write Home About in full just adds more fuel to the fire. Oh, and motherfucking Thrice are going to be there too! Those three are enough for me, they can add in more unknown bands for all i care, i am all ready sold.

It's a small festival, apparently they had 5000 campers last year. Anyone got any experiences of small festivals? How is the atmosphere compared to others?

  8. Christ, there is quite some whinging and nit picking going on here. Never heard anyone complain when Bret Hart would hit a tope or pescado, nor did anyone complain when Jericho used his deadlift powerbomb. Christ, Scott Steiner used to pop off frankensteiners like they were going out of fashion, yet there was no backlash against his suplex-throwing character. Simmer down.

  9. I love that they printed on lined paper. You gotta keep them costs down!

I used to get the A5 Silvervision catalogue as a kid. This was around '98 i think. It had full colour photos of (i presume all) the tapes they had in stock, complete with match listings and spelling mistakes. I'm pretty sure they had the wrong match listings for certain videos as well. I would cirlce the tapes i wanted like it was the back of an Argos catalogue. I think my last order from there was In Your House: Bad Blood, In Your House: Buried Alive, a HBK comp tape and a Steve Austin comp tape. My dad was an on/off fan at the time but he loved Steve Austin so he was eager to break into the Steve Austin video as soon as it arrived. Good times.

    I tried searching for photos of the catalogue but couldn't find anything. However, this came up in the search results;

I used to love these videos. I had quite a few, never really had the full set though. I remember the 1997 editions being chockablock full of matches, about 20 to a tape. There were a couple of tapes, i can't remeber which ones, that were fucking motherload videos. It had everything that was great about '97 on there. Bret/HBK angles, the infamous HHH/Cactus Jack street fight, Austin/HBK tag matches, HBK/Undertaker angles, the  build-up to Canadian Stampede and some entertaining filler. I've watched a lot of Best Of WWF DVD's over the past few years that cover '96/'97, but nothing captured the action and atmosphere like these videos did. If someone has the entire run of this series of videos and has converted them to a more modern format, they would be hailed as a really nice chap and someone whom i would exchange pleasantries with.

  10. Did i miss the first batch of posts asking for forum specific nominations/votes before the polls took place? Or were they held in secret, exclusive to the UKFF elite? I ask because i quite enjoy the initial nomination threads, but i could only see the wrestling/MMA related ones.

  11. The entire Fight Network family of podcats. Extremely entertaining stuff with a podcast for nearly every day of the week. To make it more 'official', i'll list them all:

Review-A-Raw (John Pollock & Wai Ting)

Review-A-Wai (John Pollock & Wai Ting)

Reviw-An-Impact (John Pollock, Wai Ting & Nate Milton)

The Bauer And Pollock Show (John Pollock & Court Bauer)

WhtsNxt (Jason Agnew & Braden Harrington)

    The MMA Report (John Pollock)

Live Audio Wrestling (Jason Agnew, Dan Lebranski & John Pollock)

    Lovely stuff.
